Thank you Punjabi Lehar . Tusi history nu us time de Logan di zubani record kar ke bohut acha kam kar rahe ho. This is a true account of what happened at that unfortunate time. My mother's side of the family came over Multan area. She mentions Talamba and Hanuman?? I am not sure if I spelt the name of the places right! My nanaji was a patwari on the canals. He actually didn't get to join the rest of the family until 1948 because he stayed behind thinking it would all get back to how it used to be before partition. His muslim friends hid him until it was obvious that the change was for good. They then took him to a camp and he eventually joined his family, who had given him up for dead.
They were difficult times with atrocities committed by people from both sides, irrespective of their religion...They were just opportunists, who wanted to get their hands on easy loot at whatever cost. I think it's wrong to judge history by our values of today. This generation and the generations to come, need to learn from the mistakes that were committed by our forefathers. We need to forgive each other and learn from the history but not forget it. Underneath, we have same values, language, culture, emotions, passions and above all, love for each other. jeeondey raho! Allah Pak enha buzargan nu sehat bakshay and may we all learn to live in peace with each other.

My nanka village was Parasram near chak 58 . They also came to this village , like many other Sikh villages . Baloch army attacked the village . There was lot of bloodshed . They ran away for their lives , with only their clothes on their bodies . They could not carry a glass or kauli with them . On the way they have to beg to eat or depended on Sugarcane ( GANNE CHUP K GUZARA KITA )
