The downhill race takes place in Kitzbühel, one of the most iconic and difficult stops on the circuit. It’s one of Dominik Paris best seasons and the pressure to succeed is high. At the same time, legendary Aksel Lund Svindal makes a tough decision to sit the race out to protect his problematic knee. Five-time junior champion Marco Odermatt attended the downhill race for the first time, with high hopes from his big idol Didier Cuche.

AMAZING, Dominik Paris has won Kitz 3 TIMES, just finishing the Streif is considered a huge victory !

He is back, today (after many podium) added the Kandahar to the "collection"; 15th DH won (out of 19 win in WC), an athlete who won several times on the Streif, the Stelvio and now Garmisch too, missing just the Saslong and the Lauberhorn (where it been to the podium anyway).
I hope that (sooner or later) will win the DH World Cup, him deserve it; just injuries, bad luck and a bit 'of discontinuity has prevented it until now, it would be right, Dominik is for sure one of the best downhill skiers in history (obviously after Kaiser Franz).

@@ferarizpe9400 That one WAS a save, the most crazy one I saw. Kriechmayr had another mistake after that and was out later in the track, but he didn't crash. 2nd place is cool, but saving your life is more important. And that balance was insane, that was my point.

Orangethunder al massimo è sudtirolese. Tra Sudtirolo Alto Adige e Tirolo c'è una gran bella differenza, il Tirolo è in Austria, l'Alto Adige è in Italia. Paris è dell'Alto Adige, non è tirolese

@@Oachlkaas Paris, come te (deduco) e me, è un cittadino italiano e inoltre è un carabiniere che ha prestato giuramento allo Stato e alla bandiera italiani, non austriaci. Quindi non venirmi a dire che non è italiano, ma tirolese.
Dal punto di vista della cultura sono assolutamente d'accordo con te, ho passato molto tempo in Sudtirolo e le differenze culturali tra Tirolo e Sudtirolo sono minime, ma le differenze pratiche esistono eccome. Suppongo tu sappia che Bolzano è una provincia dell'Italia quindi confine, cittadinanza, legge, amministrazione, forze dell'ordine sono italiani e in più ha un'esclusiva italiana su tutte: lo statuto speciale conferito al Trentino-Alto Adige dall'Italia nel 1948 e tutti i benefici che ne derivano. Ma della comodità dello statuto speciale italiano non parla mai nessuno, eh? Quando si parla di statuto speciale tutti si ricordano magicamente di essere italiani, anche perché l'Austria non conferisce statuti alle proprie regioni e quello sarebbe uno svantaggio
