Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another Stromae reaction with his recent release of his new single " Fils de Joie." This second time around, I delve deep into the meaning of the song. Everything starts making sense specifically why the women holding the casket were half dressed. Cool, I was at the park that day and wondered why that part was cut off. You couldn't see what was going on. How many extras were there? There is quite a bit of cgi involved for the crowds and also the structure that covers the tunnels.

@@neontyler6663 500 extras and filmed in Brussels: Monument build then for the 50 years Belgian independence from the Netherlands... They moderated a little bit with computer but the monument is incredibly beautiful...ps Stromae lives in Brussels too, so home match for him...

Clay K I think you missed the point. During the verses he is talking as if was a client, a pimp an a policeman. During the chorus he is talking as her son, who defends her , says he is proud of her and say that society are dumb and look the other way.. the point of the song is critizing how society treats prostitutes.

The harpsichord is the most beautiful instrument. I grew up playing violin and I'm a sucker for it but the harpsichord gives me total frisson, tears well up in my eyes😫💜

" Fils de joie " is the first song of his new Tour 2022. A Stromae 's fan has recorded the Bruxelle's show , for TH-cam. There are 4 musicians behind enormous synthesizers. No drums !
For information, the video was filmed in Brussels on the site of the Cinquantenaire, this site with its three arches and its esplanade, was built for the 50th anniversary of the independence of Belgium. they add some decors, in the USSR or North Corea style, to match with the subject of the video.
Except that the building took so much time that it was over for the 75th anniversary of the independence.
I love that my French is shaky. It means I can hear Stromae for the music first, and then get a whole second kick when I concentrate on the lyrics.
Undeniably Stromae is an endearing artist, very original in his choices and his texts.
But I come here because of the title of this song (which is also excellent in its purpose). There was in the 80s, a group called Les Fils de joie, you should try "Adieu Paris" or "Tonton Macoute" two songs dealing with dark subjects but which could surprise you musically. They are excellent. 🙂

Just for your information the instrument that sounds at the beginning is not a guitar or anything like it, is called a Harspichord and is similar to a piano but instead of hammers hitting the strings there are spikes pulling them.
The instrument in the beginning is not a guitar but a harpsichord which is played with keys.
