What I am hearing is quite shocking to me. This is because in my school Northwestern Polytechnic University we don't have any free time or leisure to even party or go out. I am talking about English Language courses, we are always tied with tests and assignments and trust me people are failed here like crazy when not meeting standards. Our library is one of the biggest in southern asia and also professors have good english language abilities. I believe it all boils down to the SCHOOL you choose to study in. Go for the top schools in China and have the best learning experience ever. From a student currently in China

when i was a scholar in china, i was clubbing every weekend, going to work and still graduated with a 2:1! i'm better. the medical students in shenyang medical college were at the clubs from Wednesday to Sunday! insane!! come to think of it, i do feel like our school work was different from other Chinese students. they didn't give us as much workload as i feel we should have gotten. i wonder why?
now that i am doing my masters in the u.k there is a huge difference here. i'm learning how to use Harvard referencing and really analyse and be a critical thinker.
but china was still an amazing experience and i loved every single day there.
met some great people, learnt a lot, discovered so much about me... it was amazing experience.

Hey guys, I studied electrical engineering in Germany and I did it all in german language. German language is not easy, it took me more than a year to get the level which allowed me to follow the courses in german language. In some courses, I was the only non german student. So I would advise you to master language Chinese first.

it is better to study in india as compared to china
I did that for 4.5 years. But the educational system in India is degrading as compared to before. India is being left behind now by other South East Asian countries like China, Philippines, Malaysia etc. Government of India is somehow becoming money minded in regards to education. I mean no regulations anymore coz anyone can register a college as long as he can pay money. Opening educational institution should be too tight in order to maintain the standard.

Truth to be told Most of the international students go to China to study in a University are basically either failures back home or have low financial status (they can't afford to study some programs which are extremely expensive at their home country)
Most of the international students go to China and start procrastinating cause of the freedom given by some of their respective universities BUT having said that there are universities which are extremely strict with their curriculum and have expectations from students each semester , if they fail or unable to fulfill the expectations of the universities they are sent back home and I've seen plenty of examples .
There are different sort of Universities in China as other countries , good universities, average universities and low graded universities . If you study in good universities your tuition fee will be definitely higher compare to the average and the low grade universities and since the university is good you'll be provided benevolent teachers , perfect ambience and perfect management by your school but that goes totally opposite to the average or low graded universities and most importantly these things are for all the students ( Chinese as well as foreign students ) .
Universities in China are undoubtedly definitely better than other universities in Africa , Asia and South America BUT the problem is most of the international students fail to cross the language barrier I.e can't speak fluent Chinese ! For instance if you're a Medical School student and you're practicing in Chinese hospital you have to speak very fluent Chinese so that your professors as well as your patients understand what you talking about and it is all around the world ( if i go to French speaking countries in Africa or any part of the world , I have to speak French ) and honestly, I feel the same for students from engineering field , management field and all the other majors and fields . I have seen a doctor who's studied for over 15 years in China and working in one of the most biggest hospitals of Shanghai , just because he was determined and worked really hard on Mandarin Chinese when he was at a medical school and I've got tons of examples like him .
Chinese universities has got everything what you are looking for ( probably better facilities than your own home country ) , it's just that you have to be extremely good at Mandarin Chinese and have to build connections with your fellow professors , teaches and school .
At last I'd like to say study in China you're gonna learn the most widely spoken language in the world , gonna get all the world class facilities . Yes , you're gonna face some challenges initially but you won't regret studying in China , if your intention is just to study .

francois williams Well , Yeah ! South Africa indeed was better and was a world leader in various departments but not anymore . The corruption in South Africa is sky high , crime rate in South Africa is getting beyond the limit whereas in China everything is under control , you go out 12 at midnight alone you won't face any problem , basically you're safe . China is becoming a global world leader in economy , technology and many more .
An international students looks for safety , good education system , opportunities etc once he/she goes abroad for study , which I think South Africa will be unable to provide ( I'm not anti-South Africa though ) , the good thing or let's say advantage of studying in South Africa would be the English language since it's widely spoken there so international students can take an advantage of that BUT studying in South Africa won't be as cheap as China for sure .

@Hussain A. depends on the school you go to, many people thinking they are going to standard schools but it is true there schools without even a single english book in the library. the only english books in the library of my school were those that were used for students studying english.
