I hope You see this, Professor.
I consider You an actual hero. That's coming from years and years of studies coming from tutelage of people who neither did have Your talent nor interest in teaching anyone anything. The clarity with which You approach difficult subjects is both informative and inspiring. I am really grateful for all the work You did, I am impressed by how much You care about Your students. Please, please carry on. Your work matters - and I say this, being some random guy learning at a med school on the other side of the globe. Thank You.

Having gone through several anatomy and physiology courses through my medical career, I chuckle every time I hear, "Do we have to know that???" I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this myself! That being said, not all professors are created equally, Professor Fink does a masterful job teaching, his energy is palpable and his humor is quite effective. What a wonderful resource to have, thank you for making this available.

    Dear Professor,
I was in despair when i saw my college power-point about Embryo, it was awful. The way my professor explained the same as you did was boring and really not understandable. I looked right away for help. You were suggested by TH-cam and well, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I wish more teachers were like you, anyone can see that you do what you because you love it. You choose the right things to make easier understanding Embryology concepts. So thanks a lot!

So if I summarize, there is a segmentation available inside the body ( spinal nerves ) if we talk about the segmentation of the dermatome of paraxial mesoderm but we can't see it. We need the modern technolgy like CT or MRI to see the segmentation clearly, or not?

professorfink no problemo Professor. currently studying for the USMLE Step 1 exam and I watched both hours. I too was having difficulty conceptualizing the formation of sacs. In particular, how part of the yolk sac turns into the allantois that then enters the urogenital sinus to to become the urachus that connects the fetal bladder to the yolk sac in the 3rd week, all in relation to a patent urachus, urachal cyst, and vesicoureteal diverticulum. although not directly covered in your video, the foundation you laid set things up well. i thought id mention how the entire thyroid is not all endoderm (although follicular cells are) although it is probably a bit nitpicky for an introductory course. Parafollicular C cells of the thyroid are of neural crest origin in the thyroid (relevant to inherited disorders like MEN 2 in which it shares that neural crest origin with the adrenal medulla/pheochromocytoma. it took me a while to realize how those two diseases were related and when i realized they were both neural crest it was an ah-ha moment). Just thought id lay that out in case any wayward medical schools find their way here since I know youre well known in medical student forums for your embryo videos. Thanks again
