Wild Camping on SCAFELL PIKE at 3000 ft , The Lake District

For this overnight backpacking, wild camping, hiking trip, we are in freezing conditions in the Lake District, while hiking the highest mountain in England - Scafell Pike.
Using 3 season camping equipment in freezing conditions we test things out ahead of the approaching winter camp season for wild camping UK

Scafell pike is an amazing place, we hiked it for charity back in April, it was minus eight degrees at the summit

A lightweight windshield made from flattened baking trays with skewers to anchor it into the ground will solve a lot of cooking issues

Hello! I would sense check this against latest guidance but at the time our research said we could camp above the highest fell wall on hills anywhere in the lakes. Do check this before going out though as we haven’t camped there since this video!

why are there absolutely no trees on this beautiful mountain? Mountains at this altitude normally have a lot of trees.

Good question! We’re probably not qualified to answer without some more research that but I’d imagine the terrain is too rocky in parts!
