James should do a acoustic album, he has the perfect voice.
güzel sesi mi var? 1983'te sesi berbattı zamanla kendini geliştirdi ve 94'lerde gerçek ses eğitimi aldı yoksa sesi güzel falan değildi. tamamen çalışıp çabalamasıyla elde ettiği bir şey yani. emeğin yetenek veya şans gibi görülmesi emeğe haksızlıktır.
I'd love to see that happen. His solo acoustic cover of 'In My Life' by The Beatles is incredible.
no nothing else matterss
With country and rock songs.
I don't see James doing anything outside Metallica tbh
Thank you Metallica for keeping Thin Lizzy alive. Best Irish rock band ever and one of the best rock bands ever, Phil gone too soon.
Totally agree. Greetings John,You have the same surname as me. We might be related lol.
we seriously need another Garage Inc. album. the songs they’ve covered since the original Garage Inc. deserve to be professionally recorded and released out on a proper record
Thanks, Phil Spector.
Indeed, Garage Days and Garage Inc, all of that, are genius and beautiful. Great fond memories, as well.
@@kryyptyykoh yeah. I listen to those a lot.
Amem
Beautiful.... We need a whole album with this type of covers..... "Garage 3: acoustic" 😏
Fuck yes, all day long! This shit is great. As I get older, I'm getting more mellow and this hits just right!
That would be badass!!
I’d buy it
Hey! Metallica's management check this comment out
Nice guitar kirk
Awesome cover ! Thin Lizzy are SO underrated!
I love how close it sounded to the original Thin Lizzy track and Kirk keeping the solos intact. Thin Lizzy is criminally underrated.
Cowboy song....
Renegade....
👍👍
Came here for this post. Thank you
haha, your post is on justin hawkins rides again
They're not underrated...underappreciated though indeed.
I've always said that when Kirk puts in his all, he's a remarkable guitarist and can do what very few ever could... And as for the quality of this cover, I think that they always put all their best efforts to keep the original feel of the song, but you know that it's truly Metallica by the way they sound! They are in my opinion, one of if not the best artists to cover someone else's song!!! The Metallica sound is imbedded into those covers, but they always bring out something from these songs, something that wasn't there prior to their rendition and I think that even if they make it sound "like Metallica", that they make it into something great!
I think James’s voice is sounding better now than it just about ever has. Showing great range, tone, warmth etc. Love listening to him singing like this.
Aging like a fine whiskey. His tone is so good now in the heavy and softer styles.
1:52 James definitely delivered this line in a way that convinces us he's still sober and that he's proud of achieving it. Love the guy!
Great to see James paying tribute to Thin Lizzy again. I recommend all who haven't got the Johnny the Fox album do so.
Long live Lizzy
Great shout!
This is so genuine... Like an unexpected hug from someone you like...
hell yes...one of my fave thin lizzy songs. thanks for covering it
James voice is so amazing in many ways
But he is out of tune
@@gggggllllleeeeebbbbb let's see you try to sing
@@natepeckofficial But nobody calls me best vocalist of all time
Im 11 year old and i hear all the songs im big fan
I was 5 years old when I started listening to MetallicA, awesome to see that the younger generations are into this and can appreciate it.......🤘🤘🤘🤘
My son was born with s&m playing. He's 22 now and still listens to Metallica nearly every day. So do I 🤘
I'm slowly turning my 11 year old I to a metalhead. Santa brought her a Metallica shirt this year and she loved it. She's coming to M72 with me when it heads here in 2024. 🤘
Keep great music alive 🤘
Welcome to the metallica family 😎🤘
At 1:59 you can really see his pain when singing about alcohol. Man, James really went through something. Glad he's better now
Absolutely… he’s been through some stuff .. they seem in a great place now post Covid and post rehab… super appreciative of their fans and their not shy in letting us know… can’t wait to see them live once again in Montreal august 2023!!!
Yes, you can definitly tell..and he omits another whole verse thats about drinking an entire bottle too.
@@autoxinSi Seen them this year. It was great. And when James said, that no one of us is alone I teared up. That feeling and the atmosphere was surreal. Looking forward to seeing them in May again
Given that this is a Thin Lizzy song, I feel that James would have a lot in common with Phil Lynott - lead singer and writer of Thin Lizzy who lost the battle against addiction.
Yeah. All the trips to rehab, his divorce, him feeling self conscious about his age. James has been through it man.
So good
Straight up. They killed it
I’ve seen you in many Metallica comments. You got good taste, Soup.
Yes indeed
I swear to god James voice in acoustic songs just go straight in the feels
Such a beautiful tune from what is almost the perfect Thin Lizzy album from my point of view. Excellent choice for a cover
Kirk's tone on that sweet guitar is incredible.
This band changed my life for the best ever in 1986. Saved my life enough times to not remember all of them, choosing music to the streets many times, keeping me safe and healthy. I will forever love these guys.
Fucking felt man, glad you’re still here with us enjoying good music and good life. Hope all is well brother. ❤️
Same me 1986... 😉🤘
.
@@fritzritzinger9033 yep September 86 for me. I can't wait to see them again, 14th time with my other favorite band, Pantera august 4th. I feel like a teenager again!
@@canatolakhoemini6728 Have fun 🤘😊
Never heard this song before. Now I can't stop listening. They need to come out with another garage album
It’s a thin lizzy song, Whiskey In the jar also was a thin lizzy which they covered
Check out the album this song is off, it's called Johnny the Fox. Excellent album and arguably my favourite Thin Lizzy album!
I kinda shat my pants because I didn't recognize what the title of the song was and thought it was a new single. Still, thank you for bringing joy and music to my days!
dude same lol
I thought the same thing 😂
lol me too
I thought it was a Madonna cover.
+1
Avi Vinocur and James doing vocal lines together is just perfect.
Avi needs more love. I'd love to see him join Metallica for more events other than these kinds of acoustic benefits
@@swxtch5503 Meh.
As a Thin Lizzy tragic, this makes me feel warm and fuzzy. It's good to know that Thin Lizzy's legacy is alive and well
Phil Lynott. The greatest Rock star that ever lived. 37 years since his passing and his music is alive and well. Nice cover. Legends never die . Rip Philo 🇮🇪
So did Lemmy Kilmister
You mean Johnny?
@@policyjunkie3312 who's Johnny?
@@glennjones8791 Johnny the fox Johnny is his nick name

I'd love to hear them do Got To Give It Up. An underrated Thin Lizzy tune that would suit the band well in this setting.
'Great song'
This is one of the prettiest covers I’ve ever heard
Great to see bands like Metallica paying tribute to Phil's songwriting. Shows what an influence he was to so many people.
One of my fave songs of all time... rip Phil Lynott
James feels this on a personal level. Beautiful.
Tear in my eye. God bless Metallica and their love about music
I closed my eyes close to the end and I thought it was guns and roses singing a ballad... That's a compliment for James's voice.
“Thank you Phil Lynott for writing that song about my life” Amen brother, amen.
Great solo from Kirk. I felt that. Magnificant!
Wonderful version of a great Lizzy song. Thank you for keeping their legacy alive guys ❤
Guys.. We need an acoustic album.. James voice is perfect for that 😍❤️
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
I find this to be one of the best vocal performances of James' entire career. Soulful, strong; this song was his to claim.
yes bro
yeah mate
This sounds absolutely incredible! Never really paid attention to James singing songs like this but this shows how good his voice really is. I enjoyed that as much as a Metallica original.
amen
Same❤️
That’s a classy stage. Very fitting.
Had no idea Metallica covered this tune! Brilliant rendition and a wonderful tribute to Thin Lizzy! Het's vocals sound great here too. Between this cover and that acoustic rendition of Blackened I wanna here Metallica do a proper studio acoustic album now!
They only did it once.
THANK YOU THIN LIZZY AND METALLICA FOR SAVING MY LIFE
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
Bearing his soul with this cover. Crushed me at the end when he said he identifies with it. Considering what he’s going through right now. I was there in person, he’s not only healing himself he’s healing me too. Thanks Jaymz ~ a combat vet
Can’t stop listen to this❤ thank you Thin Lizzy and Metallica
Every time I listen to Boderline @Metallica cover I get so emotional that I cry, music is powerful... This version is so beautiful. I can feel james pain.. James im praying for you and ur family u ARE absolutely special!!!!
James put his soul into them vocals 💯 💪
The best band ever
Yes, yes they are 🤟🏻
You can tell that James takes care of his voice, it's sad that we can't have the 80-90 James voice but that's just life. His singing is fantastic here. And I agree with everyone here, a James acoustic EP would be amazing
No worries, A.I. will make any singing period possible in about 8 days time.
Amazing cover.
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
It was around 1983, I was 16, and a really cool black dude who played guitar really well and lived on the street behind me (he was a huge Scorpions fan) taught me this song. We used to sit around, jam, and smoke pot on the weekends. This was the first song I ever learned how to play from start to finish. It is by far my favorite song from Thin Lizzy off the Johnny the Fox album. Hope you're still out there, Doc!
Thin Lizzy are an incredibly underrated band. Love this. Phil Lynott would approve. RIP Philo
I would love if they recorded a studio version of this!
This might as well be studio recorded, very high quality
Wow, so amazing. James has come full circle. Love the way Kirk is being being respectful to the original part two.
Midnight in the big city
At the bar drinking all on my own
Just thinking about that girl and me
How something's going wrong
Mister, tell me, what's my saving grace?
The back room boys
Were all telling me
I'm a borderline case
Back on the borderline one more time
Seven beers and still sober
It's time to change to something stronger
I cannot take this scene no longer
She could have told me it's all over
Back in my home town
The old place is still the same
But time can cast a spell over something
You can't go back again
Back on the borderline one more time
Mister, fill me another
Till I go crazy and it turn my mind around
Just pass that bottle one more time
And slowly drink it down
Jeanie can I tell you?
The shame of my disgrace
It's just love or rejection
For this borderline case
Back on the borderline one more time
I'm on my bended knees crawling
I'm begging you darling
Спасибо
outstanding vocals!
no thanks

Testament
the interpretation of Thin Lizzy is conveyed simply at the highest level
One of the greatest bands of all time covering The Greatest band of all time. Thin Lizzy Rule.
wherever and however James hits the stage magic happens, unique artist, a true treasure
one of my all time favorite Lizzy songs. I feel kinda special that they covered it.
That shows how great THIN LIZZY was....listen to the original 👍!
I was really looking forward to hearing Metallica's version. Have to say I didn't like it. They've made it too Country and Western.
It's a shame because I loved their Whisky in the Jar cover.
Thank God we love a band whose singer decided to take care of his voice 30 years ago.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Lovely vibe!... I"m in heaven now! 😍
Me too! :)
Those vocal harmonies sound great
Avi Vinicor of Goodnight Texas is doing all the BGVs.
One of the best Lizzy's songs....love it.......................
Kirk's perfect, definitely his vibe
Love this cover!
James' songs just keep getting better and better. There are singers who deteriorate year by year, but on the contrary, it's very precious and wonderful.
Thank you James for writing so many songs about my life!
During the pandemic I decided to put "Borderline" on my phone playlist, bringing it to life after decades. Now in my 40s, this song feels even more personal (what a great composer Phil was) and hearing James at that age singing it.. pure gold
Pandemic..?

This is the best Metallica music I have heard for a long time.
James is amazing when he sings. This song touched my soul.
Thank you for keeping the spirit of Thin Lizzy alive.
Real artists are not afraid to perform in any genre. James's voice is beautiful ❤️✨
No words are enough for this genius band! Simply the BEST ever!
Yes, Thin Lizzy is amazing
It is amazing that most bands have been influenced by Thin Lizzy and the general public has no idea who they are. My favorite band. Saw them open for Queen at the forum in L.A. My first concert.
That must’ve been an awesome show.
lucky you are
@@S-dr7jx If only I could remember it better. Three senses were overloaded on a 14-15-year-old kid. I do remember that Lizzy was on my mind for months.

James’s voice is just Godly! I’m no expert, but to maintain such vocals at that stage of his career has got to involve extreme dedication and professionalism.
Reminds me a bit of Tuesday's Gone.
live for ever metallica !!!!
Might be "one of the" greatest bands on earth ever but most certainly the greatest cover band to ever exist.
James man.....your voice here is amazing, you have a lovely vibrato, wow.

Love it! Would be super awesome to see James in an acoustic concert
James has such a beautiful voice.
Just perfect. Makes me want to cry.
How wonderful, a whole album with these sounds would be great.

One of my favorite deep cuts by Thin Lizzy 🖤 particularly heavy hearing James sing it
I’m a 40 year old boy. Big fan since the day I heard for whom the bell tools for the first time. Thank you James for that soulful voice of yours. Thank you. I owe you guys a lot. Salut 🤘
