Her name is Paula Nelson. She is from the Eastern Band of Cherokee in Cherokee NC. You are right, Everybody Indian Dance! I am so happy you like it! It was my first music video (haven't done anymore) and we / they were pleased too! God Bless!
I'm Cherokee Scott's but I'm more drawn to the Cherokee side and I want to learn everything I don't live to far from the eastern band I use to go there every chance I got I'm always drawn to it the past few years have been rough but it's like a calling and I can't wait to get back home ❤️
Beautiful! I'm Cherokee and I have been trying to learn traditions so I can also teach my child traditions, it has been quite a challenge it seem. I love Cherokee music and have found a few traditional recipes!
@DiverseCityUSA1 just figured out how to find the comment thingy... ty for letting me know.. i listened again with my eyes closed and love it all the more.. thanks for putting it here..
is there a translation for this song? I am interested in learning Cherokee but do not know a single word as of yet.. by the end of the night I will knoew at least ONE. :)
Nice tune, but the drum...? I love blending music from different peoples, yet, Cherokee drums were never anything like African drums, and I wonder how long before no one in this world knows the difference of cultures forgotten as distinct thanks to "new-age" blends like these, tho I feel this was beautiful and respectful and well done.
Obviously, guitar wasn't a "Cherokee" instrument either. But it doesn't alter rhythms as drastically... A more traditional drum rhythm could support this musically without featuring some white dude's wannabe West African finger rolls...
She is amazing. Her voice stays with you all day. Very talented.
Thank you for happy dance!!!! The world needs this joy of your song!
