    Hey b, how much is the school in San Diego in April? Is it $300 or $1600 the website is giving a little mixed information.

    Just look at Vardon's swing or most pre-Hogan swings.

    Great video and information, gents. Please can I live in Dr Scotts "studio"? 😂

    I totally agree. For speed, a backswing needs to feel short because those forces will bring the club into a position at the top. I think the mistake is when people hear they need to use their body more for power, and they try to create that whip effect, they continue to bring the club back with their arms and it turns into a long backswing, like long drivers. If I'm going for power and control, i try to take my arms out of the swing for 90% of it.

      Really great tip, it's like your downswing starts at hip high but the momentum gets the club to the top...weird feeling but good tip

      @@MarkSmithhhh Yea. Its an understanding of fast tempo. If someone is swinging fast, other aspects of the swing need less time due to physics of the swing. Its why I hate people that say to "hold the lag." If they understood forces, they would understand that releasing the club is necessary to get lag.

    What decelerates the club in the backswing?

    • @slytown
      @slytown ปีที่แล้ว

      The shoulder turn stopping. By doing that, the arms slow down as they go along for the ride and therefore the backswing stops. However, part of that, at least for power hitters, is the change of direction. A change of direction before the club reaches the top will add maybe 10% more to the backswing. This is why moving the arms only initially, as Drew says, in the backswing is key to power and control. If the arms move behind the body, or overswing, the ability to create power is minimized. The arms should always be, more or less, in front of the chest in the backswing.

    That "studio" is at the very pinnacle of golfing technology...

    All the "P's" go out the window when you listen to guys who actually measure things. Sure, positions can be good to hit but focussing on them will never get you there.

    Correct. Youre seeing a reaction. Not the action. Talk to colin McCarthy golf 👍🏻👍🏻

    Cameron Young? Hideki? Lots of other Asian pros?

    • @A-FrameWedge
      @A-FrameWedge ปีที่แล้ว

      Just because some talented pros can do it does not mean it is for the average person and I would say Hideki is doing it much less than he used to.

    • @oldprogolf7292
      @oldprogolf7292 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@A-FrameWedgeyou are quite correct though for many amateurs the feeling of pausing at the top helps a smooth transition even if it does not actually happen. Stopping like Young would be difficult for most. The point I make is that there is no one "correct" golf swing. I call out all these "experts" who tell us how we have to swing.
      If the average unfit, unathletic golfer tries to start moving his lower body while is upper body is still completing the backswing he is unlikely to complete the backswing.

    Still to stiff on your transitions. Try doing it with your jaws open or try humming on you back swing and transition. I think over a year a so ago, I commented that you grunt too much on your down swing (tio much effort and sound) and I notice that you no longer do that. Good luck!

    This is so difficult to listen to. These two guys contradict each other constantly and this is so hard to figure out the hell's going on. Plus they're facing different ways and confusing each other even more. Bummer... I hoped to learn something but their communication is so poor it's distracting

  • @johns6481

    Who are you even talking about? Would be nice to drop the actual swing you’re trying to boost. Or add time of when you finally say it. “He” and “him” don’t do much for the audience.

      They are referring to Drew Cooper in this case
