I don't like one person having too much power at a club, whether it's the "manager" or the an owner. I liked the Brighton model: head coach in or out, it made no difference to the team's performance as the recruiting team and tech director were deciding on the team direction and aquisitions. Are West Ham guilty of moving back to the dynasty model, where the head coach becomes a manager with his team around him? Because if that happens, when they pack up and leave, we're left with a vacuum, and it's all change, start again with no long term plan...again. This isn't how successful clubs work. Steidten wasn't the problem - he was undermined, compromised and never got to do his job with a proper infrastructure in place. I'm not surprised he "left". I assume no one can get to his private files on the computer anyway, so I'm not sure how west ham locking him out works for the club?
Sullivan chucking Steidten under the bus is pathetic, its his employee so he didn't need to point score against him in the media. Nobody cares about administrators or chairman, we just want to watch good football and hopefully a winning team

Todibo will be class as will Guilherme. Fullkrug great player, but injuries messed it up. Tim spent only £50m this summer. Look at the years gone by how sully wasted so much money.
This is officially a mess. possibly a worse mess than when the board and the manager worked it out between them. The club has effectively had a mind wipe. Much of the experience of the last few years has been wiped out by allowing each new regime to install its own people, destroying the illusion of continuity at the club. Why does this matter? Because great clubs are build on continuity. There are two ways this has been done in football. Either have one group of staff in place for a long time, or carefully manage the transition as team members change. Change one person at a time and give the new person time to learn before the old person leaves. Manchester United dominated English football for two decades because they found a winning formula and maintained continuity. That formula changed over the years, but change was always built on continuity. Assistants came and went, but Fergie maintained the standard together with his coaches. When he left the coaches followed soon afterwards and it wasn't Manchester United any more. The club could have run itself for a year or two without a manager, just with the experience of the players and the coaches, easing the transition for a new manager. They got it wrong and it cost them West Ham took 47 years to discover how to win trophies and in less than two years the captain, the manager and the coach who oversaw that achievement are all gone. There is no possibility that they passed on the knowledge of how that was done. The lack of continuity was manifest in the failure of Lopetegui. Now we have our third coaching team and recruitment arrangement in two years. I am not prejudging what Potter may or may not do but he is unproven in this role. At Brighton the structure was different so he is ascending a learning curve. This is before we consider the Sullivan factor. Forget what we have done in the last few years, we are now in the situation of rebuilding it from scratch with a team of people who were not here and never met the people who were. It is like a scene from "Men in Black" the club has been neutralised. We just have to sit back and see what happens.
If we had an infrastructure that worked properly then I think Potter could move us up the table consistently. But our back office is a mess. I don't see any point in bringing in a DOF until Sullivan has either sold the club or has died. There's no infrastructure that can work when the Chairman and club majority owner consistently and repeatedly offers other professionals the opportunity to play with his toy, and then rips it back out of their hands screaming "MINE" kicking them out of his sandbox. It's just a waiting game. I don't wish the man any harm or malady, so I'll just sit here waiting until he leaves. It's going to be a while.
I get Steiden may not have gotten his first choice every time, but how often does a club actually go into every transfer window and get all their first choice signings? Though I blame a bad manager for not doing more as I feel Steidens “non first choice signings” could still have been pretty solid
Too many cooks in the kitchen” that couldn't hold a piss up in a brewery. and the worst part is that this is allowed to happen year in year out, and it breaks my heart 😢 read the comments is there a single positive response 😮
I'm quite pleased we seem to be going all in on project Potter. Normally we are on the fence and end up getting pulled in all directions (uneducated fan)
I don't blame Steidten because he wasn't give the reins to do his job properly... he should have chose the manager, he should have been 100% in charge of signings... if he was left to do his job properly I think things would have turned out different
After this 'sacking' it is clearer than ever that the owners of this club are the problem. The sooner they move on the better. You can't make it up .. 3 people purged in 8 months, and our best players queuing up to leave no doubt. Really think people need to start protesting for these owners to leave asap
I think we are making a big mistake with letting him go, I think now there is a manager that he’d be able to work with quite well but in West Ham we trust, right?😅
Fantastic news. From the moment he arrived and first deal was talking to the wrong agent. Let the manager chose his players. Not told by a nobody here is who you have to turn into a team.
The latest fall guy though probably the right move...but if you gave a choice of Tim or Sullivan going (as the main problem) we all know Mr Steidten would be reporting to work on Monday. How can anyone be effective under this ownership.
For once an article that rings of the truth and spot on regarding the signings. Rodriquez and Kilman were Lopi (although tbf we were linked with Kilman under Moyes so Sullivan obviously involved here). Same with Wan Bissaka. Sullivan claimed Summerville early and Fulkrug who knows, but was clearly a forced buy after Sullivan meddled in Duran dealings. Just because Steiden negotiated with some of these players doesn’t mean he was the one that identified/wanted to sign them. West Ham will regret getting rid of Steidten and MacCaulay is a significant downgrade who Sullivan will no doubt use as a scapegoat once his meddling fails yet again.. Letting Steidten go is a big mistake. This club is full of shit and depressing as long as Sullivan calls the shot
Interesting week, Steiden gets given the spare set of keys to Rush Green at the start of the week and is out the door by the end of it, I just love my club.
The thing for me is wasn't Steidten still learning to become a sporting director when he was at Leverkusen? Originally he was a data analyst then advanced to scout before becoming one of their heads of recruitment but at the time we offered him the job he still hadn't much experience in that role so i don't know what we could expect Gonzo? I think it would've been a big ask at any club but the circus that is our club he was always gonna fail? I didn't like his behaviour with the managers especially Moyes it's supposed to be his job to see eye to eye with them and bring in quality players but this whole shite show feels like a complete failure on all parties?
Terrible mistake . No wonder this has been a shambles of a transfer window. Steintden is not to blame for any of this . I fear we're going to end up going backwards. Bad call
If you watch some of the games you will see there is always opportunities to pass 20 seconds it would take pressure off our team Always have a player on the shoulder are close by waiting for the past We are very slow team has everybody knows so we need to move the ball more efficiently Kind regards Irish jp
Set him up to fail from the standpoint of getting on with managers. Unless he hires the manager they will be seen as equal authority levels and if he doesn't do as the manager says there will be friction. Did Tim no favours.
Although I hoped Tim would’ve worked out to be a success, I’m not that let down with his sacking. It’s the right idea to have a DoF, just not the right execution at the moment.
I hope that he was on a big contract and Sullivan has to pay him a lot of money, you could see from the start that he was never going to be given the control a director of football needs but with Sullivan the control freak it was never going to happen.
Sully is a CXXX. I am a Tim fan, I can understand some of the criticism from the fans but however I don’t agree with it all. Tim was never Sully’s man so obviously he’s gonna treat him like dirt.
My thoughts exactly. Sully's been an admirer of the Brighton model for years if the rumours are true. If he can get 3 of those people in he'll be happy. Only difference is that they had a good Chairman.
Sorry I can't see us having a dof or structure while we have the board we've got especially Sullivan I agree it's not a good luck but we have also had managers moaning about him sticking his nose in. Let's hope potter is the key to get this club we're it belongs coyi
Until Sullivan goes nothing at this club will change. I don't know why the other owners don't step up and stop Sullivan interfering so much. I'm sure if he had the chance he would want to pick the team!!!! We really are a joke. Other clubs scout players, identify the positions they need and then get the player. We seem to pull names from a hat and hope for the best. The other board members need to step in now and sort this mess out. We need players and we should've been getting them in by now. Sullivan is a cancer to our club.
I blame the club for everything and the thing is Moyes loppy and steiden was Sullivan picks so yes it’s all he’s fault, not until he goes then the club won’t go anywhere near were the fans want us to go ⚒️
Everybody else is to blame and not me. Yet there appears to be only one denominator. Leaves not much to really look forward to, given past experience of the decision maker. If only, at last, this could be proved wrong,
Steiden might go on to do great things. He might not. But at the end of the day it wasn't working with us, too much drama and not enough success. Hopefully with Macaulay at least he won't be falling out with the manager in 6 months, and him and Potter might jointly have enough clout to modernise us a bit. Ashford coming in is the dream for me, though I'm highly doubtful it'll happen.
Same old sh*!. How is the club ever going to reach its full potential. It’s a joke that starts at the top of the company and ripples through the whole club. Pellegrini should have been prosecuted or sued for theft of company property sending a strong message to the football “industry” that this sort of behaviour should never be tolerated. It’s tough being a fan.
Good riddance, we would probably still have Lopetegui if he bought the correct players for the system.... Yes Lopetegui is stubborn and puts square pegs in round holes and it didn't work.... But why sign square pegs? Last January he negotiated with the wrong agent and that was a shocker 😅 Everyone was hopeful of Steidten when he joined but I think he was out of his depth. hopefully now we have potter, we hopefully get it right and sort out the staff because I don't really want to suffer Sullivan transfers for the next 2 years
We need a Steidten character and DOF, whatever his failings, he certainly had the schmooze factor and professionalism to get signings done like Kudus that Sullivan and even Brady simply do not have. Falling out with 2 managers means nothing in this case, Moyes is as stubborn as a red wine stain on a white rug and needed to go and Tim had to deal with that. JLo was a disaster from the beginning, should never have come and should have left far sooner than he did and clearly got on with no one meanwhile. Sullivan is coming up 76, we could have a few seasons left yet of this nonsense...
If this new guy can get some Brighton gems then I’m all for it. Banzuzi’s one of them, so not a good start. And hopefully these teenagers hit the ground running, otherwise Macauley will be the next one under Sullivan’s bus
Brilliant time to do all this... during a transfer window. It just feels like well-run clubs would plan this out a little better. Hot take... we might be a bigger poisoned chalice for Potter than chelsea ever were. Sullivan Out.
Tim was set up to fail by Sullivan as he wants to deal with transfers. Kyle will identify but Sullivan will sign the players and as we all know when he misses out on kyles suggestion he will sign who he wants. This is a backward step to sullivan treating the club like football manager again
Us West Ham fans are made of stern stuff whilst having an ironic sense of humour. This last month has been astonishing but we take it all in our stride.
This is pathetic, I'm sorry. He wasn't given full reign, at any point. Sullivan still held the strings, JLo was given £45m for flipping Kilman, whilst Sullivan still signed Summerville. He'd negotiated a decent deal for Duran only for Sullivan not to pay the extra few £m. I don't think he was doing a great job, but for Sullivan to sack him after one mixed window is absolutely laughable given the dross we've signed from Silkman and Salthouse over the years.
Dark day for the club. Sulli has won the boardroom battle. He’ll never let the club be run professionally. As for removing Tim’s IT privileges 2 weeks ago proves we don’t have a robust IT system with a back up facility. Who knows what would have happened if Tim was given authority. Who picked JLo? 🤬
Gonzo mate. Love ya videos and points of view. But jeez read the room. Read the comments. Tim messed up on one transfer as far as I can see. Really deserved to lose his job?? All cos of the ringmaster. People that wanted Tim to go were the people who bum Moyes

Isn't that the truth
But we have to ask the question why?

They got it wrong and it cost them
West Ham took 47 years to discover how to win trophies and in less than two years the captain, the manager and the coach who oversaw that achievement are all gone.
Shitshow is the word we are looking for.. thank god our chief scout/negotiator/dof/an propably the tea lady, sullivan is still here.
Exactly my thoughts
Sullivan has made more mistakes and bad decisions than anyone but he is untouchable .....we are still run like a circus and Sullivan is the ringmaster
I get Steiden may not have gotten his first choice every time, but how often does a club actually go into every transfer window and get all their first choice signings?
Though I blame a bad manager for not doing more as I feel Steidens “non first choice signings” could still have been pretty solid
Im starting to really dislike my own club
Great video!!! Keep them coming really enjoy them
Too many cooks in the kitchen” that couldn't hold a piss up in a brewery. and the worst part is that this is allowed to happen year in year out, and it breaks my heart 😢 read the comments is there a single positive response 😮
embarrassing supporting this club under these owners
This club is run so badly it’s a joke. I wouldn’t put Sullivan in charge of anything.
I think we are making a big mistake with letting him go, I think now there is a manager that he’d be able to work with quite well but in West Ham we trust, right?😅
What a shame. Can’t help but think Tim was trying to get us operating like a proper club and Sullivan wasn’t having it. The circus continues 😅
BREAKING NEWS! Steidten only had two names in his little black book.... Was a very, very small book 🤣🤣
Think timmy leaked the brobbey deal out of spite
Bad call
If you watch some of the games you will see there is always opportunities to pass 20 seconds it would take pressure off our team
Always have a player on the shoulder are close by waiting for the past
We are very slow team has everybody knows so we need to move the ball more efficiently
Kind regards Irish jp
You’ve said it STORY
Set him up to fail from the standpoint of getting on with managers. Unless he hires the manager they will be seen as equal authority levels and if he doesn't do as the manager says there will be friction. Did Tim no favours.
It sounds like Geo’s pink book has more player data in it than our scouting network!
Hi Gonzo
Please can you send old link where you are performing your magnificent ELTON JOHN impression from the other year. Much appreciated
Sully is a CXXX. I am a Tim fan, I can understand some of the criticism from the fans but however I don’t agree with it all. Tim was never Sully’s man so obviously he’s gonna treat him like dirt.
Ashworth is coming in next for sure
How's the sponsorship talks with "Billy Smarts" going?? 🤷♂️
Last January he negotiated with the wrong agent and that was a shocker 😅
Everyone was hopeful of Steidten when he joined but I think he was out of his depth. hopefully now we have potter, we hopefully get it right and sort out the staff because I don't really want to suffer Sullivan transfers for the next 2 years
Richard Keys was right
We need a Steidten character and DOF, whatever his failings, he certainly had the schmooze factor and professionalism to get signings done like Kudus that Sullivan and even Brady simply do not have.
Unfortunately with Sully at the helm we'll never progress as a club in this area. One step forward, two steps back.
Richard Keys is doing the dance of a thousand knives
We’re a complete circus of a club. I just want to watch entertaining football - but it’s worse than Eastenders 😂
That’s the biggest mistake that Sullivan has made . Because he now thinks he can control potter.⚒⚒⚒
We need to get Ashworth now. Let new guy KM focus on recruitment and get Ashworth to run the day to day
Us West Ham fans are made of stern stuff whilst having an ironic sense of humour.
Gossip at west ham is killing me
A total mess
'We can be quite quite classless in the way that we act. But I don't blame the club for this.' 😂
Dark day for the club. Sulli has won the boardroom battle. He’ll never let the club be run professionally. As for removing Tim’s IT privileges 2 weeks ago proves we don’t have a robust IT system with a back up facility. Who knows what would have happened if Tim was given authority. Who picked JLo? 🤬
I can see some issues in the boardroom coming now between kritinski (sorry for the spelling) and sully
Gonz i have to agree with everything youve just said Gonz
Gonzo mate. Love ya videos and points of view. But jeez read the room. Read the comments. Tim messed up on one transfer as far as I can see. Really deserved to lose his job?? All cos of the ringmaster. People that wanted Tim to go were the people who bum Moyes
The westham circus never ends!!! 🤬
