Hey there and welcome to our video about picking up our new home. We have purchased a Winnebago Micro Mini FLX series camper. Specifically the 2108DS model.
We hadn't planned to purchase and were only shopping for the Keystone line camper. We drove to General RV in Doral Florida and they had this unit which had been traded in from it's previous owner.
The camper is outfitted quite perfectly for our needs as a couple who will be living full time on the road after our house sells.
The solar installed at the factory and the off road package make this perfect for us. With the cold weather package added, including the heated tanks, well, it's going to be great for our needs. On top of that, it will allow us to comfortably bring Watson our dog along for the ride!

Your point in the contrast with a Sprint of Van makes sense but what I like about an RV Sprinter Van type is while you're driving your wife can be in the back preparing food or vice verse or in the back sleeping or your dog could be in the back while you're driving or you can use the restroom while your wife is driving
I agree. You're right about that. For now, the trailer concept is working for us, but that's not to say later on...we can't look at other options. Who knows, maybe when become a big deal Winnebago will provide us with an Ecko to trial and review! 🤪😉🙌Thanks for being here.

Too restrictive for my husband and I but I see a lot of them on the road.

Thanks! We like it now that we've upgraded so many things. However, we are finding that it is a little bit small for our needs as a full time couple. We are planning to sell it in the fall of this year, 2024 and upsize a bit.

I have a 2005 tundra (same engine and chassis as your sequoia) so knowing it pulls the trailer is good to see!!
Not ideal, but it worked well. Adding the Airbags and new rear coil Old Man Emu medium duty springs really helped while we still had it.

@@oherroprease207 we have a 2013 Tundra Crew Max now. It's okay for this 2108 DS, but we will upgrade to a 3/4 ton when we end up getting a bit larger trailer. It handles this trailer quite well.
Got the same, 2021 In Sep 2023. Good luck on the branding. You get out to SE Arizona gimme a holler. We did 5 years of 38 foot boat up and down (MD to FL) and east west in a minnie winnie 29b class b, then settled in Arizona. Got restless after 3 years and got the 21008 DS.

Congratulations 🎈 as you we love having a TT; And yes foe us it's a Base Camp as we explore excursions around us .. We live in Miami and our TT is a 2022 Grand Design XLS 22mle. Winnebago 21TB was my choice; but I caught this Bug called Happy Wife syndrome lol ..And i knew she was in love with the 22mle. Our Previous TT was that size that you have now. Winnebago is the Conglomerate to Grand Design. Traveling Robert a Winnebago sponsored and had that same Flex; we saw all of them at the Tampa RV Show.

The MLE is the one we will be upgrading to from our Winnebago Minni Drop that we're been using for the last 4 seasons. We'll pick it up in Dec this year, 2021. Looking forward to the real bathroom, not a wet bath and storage.

I am looking at this exact model! I also have a 1st gen Sequoia (SR5 2wd). Did you do any modifications to prevent any squat? What typs of rear suspension do you have?

I can't believe you have the exact setup with Sequoia and the Mini Flex, that we are interested in.
Even though the Sequoia has enough towing capacity, was wondering how the Sequoia handles the Mini flex?
Also, does your Sequoia have the V-6 turbo hybrid engine?
My only concern is the strain on the turbos, was told towing with turbos can incur more maintenance.
What is your experience?

Hey there! Very glad to have you on board! (Assuming you've subscribed). We had a 2004 Sequoia. 4.7 V8. It handled it alright. I beefed it up with Bilstiens, airbags, new rear coil springs. Just felt upgrading to the Tundra, considering we are living full time, made more sense for us. I made a video about why I switched. Tundra VS Sequoia. Perhaps that will be useful.
I can't say I know anything about the turbo as we don't and didn't run with that. However, I have heard the same thing from Scotty Kilmer and also on various Facebook Forums about the matter. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out. Also, you might enjoy the Tundra V Sequoia vid we produced.

Question, what drove y'all to sell your house and do this type of lifestyle??? No hate, but I can't imagine doing this full-time forever and have no home to come too. I think its cool doing this part time but I have seen vids of people doing this over a yr and are sick of it.
