Thanks for posting!! Your embarkations at outfits are adorable ❤ shout out to Kyndall for always bringing the energy. Hoping she’s still on board when we cruise in 2025!
It's neat seeing a cruise video leaving from Galveston. I stay in that same hotel y'all did as often as I can. A couple years ago I did a ship perspective time-lapse leaving Galveston, and a couple weeks ago I got a video from the Harbor House area of the Jubilee leaving.
Im glad Carnival makes those that show up early wait. That's how evey line should be. I absolutely hated getting the early check in time just to have half the ship show up several hours before their check in time and still allowed to board. Makes no sense. I miss COVID check in times. If you showed up early, you had to wait. No questions asked!!
Kinda feel like the only decent balconies with privacy and actually over the water are the coves. The deck 9 suite balconies are just awful. The one we were in was over a white awning on the deck below, and it had nothing over the top of it so you were in full view of everyone above, and had no shelter from sun or rain. Sad an Ocean Suite has probably the worst balcony on the ship. We are super excited to be in connecting coves in January. We actually do enjoy hanging out on our balcony, so this is kind of a big deal for us. Edited to add: omgosh I did a cruise with a broken toe a couple of years ago too, but I did the breaking in Cozumel. Pro-tip, wear water shoes! I kicked really hard to flip up on my back to swim and found a huge rock with my foot. Spent 6 days of my 9 day unable to tolerate anything but bare feet or flip flops, with half of my right foot the most spectacular shades of purple blue and black. It made things more difficult for sure!
@@DenaInWyo I agree, cove is the way to go on Excel class ships. We are on the Mardi Gras this Saturday and I am back in a cove. The toe was rough, just kicked a wooden box in the bedroom in the middle of the night, but it was bad for a long time. Really hoping to stay healthy for four more days.
This is almost hilarious to me. I’m currently on Jubilee. Also, I’m scheduled to stay at the same Holiday Inn Express one day next month. 😊 I hope you’re enjoying your cruise. I am!!
There was a priority line that took you to regular check in, but there was not a priority check in for only priority cruisers. The line just took you to normal check in. At other ports you would have gone to priority check in.
We were on the inaugural sailing in December and were disappointed to discover our couch already had a stain, too. First sailing and already stained? Sheesh! It's clearly not stain resistant fabric. 🚢
It would be. Ice if they add some “fun” music in the holding area..Not to loud just enough to start the fun and add a little distraction from the wait time and opposite the announcements😊
A few tips. Try to move the camera around less while you are walking. It’s a bit hard on the eyes with the bouncing. Also, if you put writing on the screen, leave it up a bit longer so we can read it. You have great info, but we had to rewind to be able to read them. Thank you for the preview.
i get FTTF for the dedicated line at customer service on board the ship but no longer have to get that because i become platinum on my upcoming cruise!!!!!!!!!
Looks so fun! Hey could anyone tell me what it's like on the first 2 days at sea on the 7-day west Caribbean? Wondering about boat stability, rocking, claustrophobia etc. being at sea for 60+ hours.
The first stretch is usually more like 38 hours as the ship does not leave on day one until five, but i have never felt claustrophobic on a cruise ship. These ships are gigantic, and several decks are uncovered. Ship movement is the luck of the draw. Most of the time, there will be barely any movement, but every once in a while, it will be very rough.
We have had over 18 cruises out of Galveston in the last two years with most recent being Jubilee 2 weeks ago and never had any issue with getting in ahead of the port arrival time. Perhaps your sailing was stricter for some reason maybe to allow more time for passengers to get off but never an issue for us arriving as much as an hour early and getting in the terminal. When we are on Excelsior class ships we never seem to eat in the MDR due to all the other amazing food options
Yes, this is my only experience in Galveston, but at other ports arriving at 10:45 for an 11am check in time would have been considered on time and you would have been sent to regular check in. Not an early/late check in queue which they were clearly only pulling from occasionally even when the regular line was empty.
With CCL in Galveston, getting in line ahead of time seems to be based on your status. Ever since I reached Platinum status, I have had no problem arriving early. If you need wheelchair assistance boarding, they ignore the boarding time also.
@CajunChannel Yes, your check in time, not boarding time. At other ports they are more flexible about when you enter the line. For instance, in Miami, if you arrive at 1045 and you have an 11am check in time, they would put you in the regular line, but the early late line as Galveston appears to do.
I don't usually use my gimbal, i am just carrying it by hand using hyper boost. I also find this causes less trouble because less people realize i am filming. I do use it for room reviews for extra stability.
I kept messing with my wife every time we walked by it. "It also spells drinks! Dr. inks, Drinks, get it!" By the end of the cruise, she did not even want to walk by it.
@@allgoodontheroad Mission accomplished. I’m finding a bunch of cool channels about cruising. Obviously yours is included and subscribed. I am a Houstonian and love to see the local coverage. Hope to run into you two in a cruise! I passed on cruises because of a very bad vacation 12 years ago. The birthday trip changed my mind totally. I was so impressed with the service, I tipped an extra 250. The staff earned it.
No, Galveston did not have Faster to the fun in the first four months of cruising, it is available now, and i think it's worth more than at other ports.
I think the ship is poorly designed. All it is more rooms and bars. There is nothing striking about this ship. Let's have 6,000 passengers and less staff. I have been on twenty cruises in my life, NCL, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity. Carnival is the wal-mart of cruise lines..... This was the worst cruise out of my twenty. This was in April 2024. The service was terrible and some of the staff were just outright rude. I was glad when the cruise was over. I will pay more for another cruise line so I can have a better experience.
There is certainly validity to your complaint. Carnival Spirit class ships provide 42 square feet of public space per person compared to 28 square feet per person on an Excel class ship. Cabin size on Excel class also shrunk. A larger ship does not mean more space. I have a video on center stage being the worst venue on any Carnival ship. What Excel class does offer is more options for food and a larger entertainment staff. People just need to know their options and choose wisely. If ship design and space are your thing, everyone should try Spirit class at least once.
Don’t you just love the contrast on Carnival? One minute, it’s a pool party, then it’s piano music, ha! Looks awesome!
Yall embarkation matching dress and shirt was THE CUTEST I ever seen
Thank you, we like to match when we can.
You absolutely can get quite time on a cruise ship too. Hubby and I are SPA & balcony lovers.
Same. That's always a condition of my wife's, lol. Can't say I mind though.
My son and I enjoyed crusing out of Galveston minus the crappy hotel we stayed at which was so my fault
Great tour thanks again. We loved our vacation aboard as well. Bless you both 🙏 36:55

Left on Jan 27,2024 on Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas(the other boat). Had a fantastic time for my birthday. Carnival is next :)
Faster to the Fun is now being offered. However, I think there's not as many spots. It sold out the same day it opened up for our May 25th cruise.
Oh wow, that is fast. I think it would be more useful on the Jubilee than most Carnival cruises though.
Yes we have it for the 3/30/24 sailing.

We sail her June 1st. And was able to purchase FTTF?
That is great to hear, i think FTTF will be useful in Galveston. Heald said he was not sure how long they would keep from selling it.
Was the Dive-in movie always at 11pm or was it late that first night because the football game was on first?

Nikon P990, i love it
How long was the ride from that particular hotel to the port
About 7 minutes, just at 2 miles
Dr Inks. Nice.

How did you get from the airport to galveston
Uber and that only cost me around $35.
How long did you have to wait before boarding and your check in time?!
We were called for boarding within 15 minutes of finishing check in. Boarding started around 1130.
If you drive to Texas can you leave your car at this hotel and take an Uber to port?
Yes, but they charge 15 per night.
So if you are late for your arrival you are penalized- that is interesting- we signed up for an 11 AM , but probably won’t go on until later
Well, i do not know how long it will take you to get through that early/ late line. Maybe it won't be so bad later.
I have a few questions?
@@SweeteaLady65 Sure, what can I answer for you?
Galveston doesn't accept faster to the fun anymore? I have 3 staterooms with faster to the fun on 9/14/24. Did I waste my money?
