    I checked out one of these today. Unplugged and plugged in as well. It's a beauty with low action, good playability and it's hella smooth. It's wonderful to play and the size does feel quite traveled size. Not too bulky yet not tiny in your hands.
    I'm definitely buying this for a personal Christmas present .

    Retired senior airline captains bemoan my choice of campsites, including Day's Inn, as too much "roughing it". Though my retired Western/Delta captain BF did relent and help his wife and daughter refurbish a Mini Winnie that was given to them, only to be used by the grandkids for short trips to came out up the river. If I can find them, I'll have to convert those old C.W. McCall LPs to mp3 for those kids to travel with.
    Wha' happened? I thought Cooper might play part of the dem with the Joe Strummer acoustic. It did sound a bit tinny, despite Chris' best attempts. I received a wall mount electric fireplace box and packing material, but it was larger than the one Chris was holding and contained the Ibanez AS73FM-TAF I purchased from New England. That was fortunately the inner shipping box, so I didn't notice the WalMart shipping labels until after I marveled at the fit and finish, translucence... I do run a wood stove on Montana visits, so I'll take a guitar or two on my next trip. It's like camping out in a winter ranch bunkhouse, with a wood fire that stands little chance of smoking a guitar. Smoking a guitar?

    Very cool. Just hate that it's dead guy signature.
    It's basically a black Malibu. So that's not a bad thing but I'm not sure. I've been thinking if I was wanting this I'd just get the regular Malibu player.

    • @gregweber3387
      @gregweber3387 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Malibu Player is $449. This one is $50 more and includes a really nice gig bag. To add the same gig bag to the Malibu is $79; so this is really a pretty good value.

    I'm a beginner just got my first acoustic guitar and when I look what the correct action should be im seeing different measurements could you or the chat help me get the correct action? Would appreciate it

    • @drewdavis2392
      @drewdavis2392 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Correct" is largely a matter of personal taste (until you get so low the strings are buzzing). There's not one exact correct height.
      Factory action height for Fender acoustics is 6/64" on the bass (low E) side, and 5/64" on the treble (high E) side, measured at the 14th fret. Taylor is a touch lower on their GAs, .050-.060 inch (about 4/64") treble and 0.080=0.090 on the bass side (between 5 and 6/64"), measured at the 12th fret. And Taylor goes another 0.10" higher on the dreadnaughts and other big-bodied styles, presumably because they expect those to get strummed more energetically. Make sure you're measuring string height the same way as your source for numbers, because the methods aren't 100% identical.
      Acoustics tend to ship from the factory a bit on the high side, because lowering the action means sanding away the bottom of the saddle -- and that's a one-way trip through the part. If you decide you went too far, you start over with a new saddle. (You can shim them up. But since the saddle is communicating the sound to the top of the guitar, you don't really want extra stuff in the way. Better to stop sanding and check a few times along the way.) So, acoustic customers that want a lower action can more easily drop an action that starts on the high side than users that want a higher action can raise it up if it starts low. Electrics have some screw adjustments on the bridge and saddles; acoustics aren't quite so easy to tweak.
