Hey everyone,
I wanted to address a couple of errors in our recent video on the "X-Men" (1992) arcade game. Firstly, I mentioned a cheat code for unlocking alternate costume colors, which was incorrect. I mistakenly referred to a cheat code from another X-Men game. Secondly, I referenced the release of the game in relation to the "X-Men: The Animated Series." The game actually drew inspiration from the earlier "Pryde of the X-Men" pilot episode, which aired in 1989, not the 1992 series. I confused certain cartoons and their release dates.
I am just a regular guy who definitely makes mistakes and I apologize. I strive to provide accurate and engaging content, and I am sorry for any confusion these errors may have caused. I appreciate everyone who brought this to my attention and it’s certainly a reality check on making sure I’m fact checking my work more thoroughly. Thank you for your understanding and support. You made some real amateurish mistakes that a minimal amount of research would have been able to catch. You don’t even mention that there was also a single screen four player version. Scrap the video and try again.

The game was a tie-in for a different X-Men show, known as Pryde of the X-Men (its first episode). The animated series that was popular, debuted months after this game.

Actually showing the alternate costumes would have been cool. It's basically the only secret mentioned in the video and there's no proof of it existing.

Man, I really can't tell if this video is supposed to be a joke or not. It's very light on actual details, and then the facts it does state are just flat-out wrong.
Where is your source for 2:23? The voices were lifted from Pryde of the X-Men? Perhaps some of the voice actors returned to do the voices but I can't find the source for where you got this info. Just curious. Thanks!
I have to agree with the rest of the comments. I kept hearing false things said about this game. This came out before the show, it didn't have the voices from the show, the characters looked different than they did in the show. The characters had abilities that they didn't in the comics and were not the most authentic. Colossus and Wolverines special moves are not authentic. This game is a footnote in beat em up history despite this. I had to stop at 3:00 minutes after hearing enough nonsense.

What a waste of a video. You spend most of the video talking about a story of a beat'em up game which is of course is basically non-existent, and asking for subs. Then you don't even bother telling us what the cheat codes are for the hidden costumes.

Mr narrator, my guy, you are very misinformed about the subject matter of your video. This arcade game came out in February 92 which is a full 8 months before the X-Men cartoon debuted on Halloween on the Fox network during gameplay of the arcade game nothing you do will affect the outcome. You also don't lose energy when you use your mutant powers. You have three times to use it on each life you have. And they were literally no Co-op moves in the whole game. You didn't have to coordinate any attacks, it's a beating up game. Did you just wake up in the morning decided you wanted to do some random video based off some vague idea you had with more flaws than a toddler taking the SAT?

I don't think this game was even available to the public at that time. Pretty sure it was developed some time in the early 90's

Well they are both made by Konami…they also move like the Sunset Rider’s characters (another Konami arcade classic). Are you guys kids (30 and under) or something and never played these games growing up at the arcade?

Well, sort of. I believe it was later ported to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Maybe even in the iOS store too 🤔
I guess i better fill you all in on my part in the history of the X-Men arcade game...
I was a young child, maybe 6 or 7, and my older cousin brought me to the arcade in Duncan, BC, Canada.
I started playing the X-Men arcade game alongside some older kid and since continuing cost 2 quarters but starting new only cost 1 we would time out and start over after we would die. Unless we both died at the same time.
We made it to asteroid M and i had to pee but i wasn't going anywhere. Just before magneto the older kid leaves but i am determined to see it through.
I only have 1 quarter left so i get serious and fight magneto as hard as i can. My bladder is ready to burst but i must finish the game.
Then i died and with only 1 quarter i could not continue.
Magneto won.
Then there was a lineup for the bathroom and i pissed my pants. My older cousin was about 17 and hung out at that arcade all the time. He is still kind of bitter about having to take his piss soaked younger cousin home early.

Sorry you had such a bad experience with the game. If it makes you feel better, I've since beaten Magneto; his reign was long, but I finished what your bladder-challenged younger self started.

It is one of the great beat em ups and the piss soaked child that I was got vengeance for the back seat of my cousin's car I got a ride back to grandma's house in.

As everyone pointed out the game was clearly based on a completely different show, to see those costumes and a character who was clearly not in the 1992 show not give you a hint that it's based on something else why should i listen to the rest of this videos "facts"?

Don’t waste your time with this video. It’s full of false information and contains mostly footage from unrelated things like the animated series, the X-Men movie, and Stan Lee meeting the Lego Marvel developers. Pure trash.

lol where do you get the “diversity and acceptance” aspect from? This isn’t garbage woke game from the present day haha. Also what do you mean by “directly influencing the outcome by your gameplay”? Like…EVERY arcade game and choosing to continue til the end and beating the final boss? Not exactly a unique concept. You act like you can change the ending by doing certain things haha. This reminds me of a term paper I would’ve written in college 2 decades ago haha
