- FIRST LOOK: The GR Corolla continues for a second year from Toyota. On the outside you will discover the all new Blue Flame color, black rocker graphics and forged wheels. On the inside the blue-theme continues with stitching, seats and shift knob. Under the hood is a 1.6L trubocharged inline-3 that produces 300HP & is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Blue flame looks killer on this. Shame these are hard to track down and marked up like crazy. I would like to see that orange color from the special edition Supra

The GR Corolla looks bold and stylish with the widebody aesthetics, the heat extractors, the wheels and no fake vents!
What a sweet ride! Love the agressive look. LOVE the blue color! Those forged aluminum wheels with the brakes and red clipers are bad-ass man! I've owned two Corollas in the past and they were amazing reliable cars but they were nothing like this beast! I can't believe this is a Corolla!

The blue stitching helps but other than that it the interior looks like Toyota consulted Zorro. There is a aftermarket armrest and you can wedge a spare tire in. “If you would have waited”, at 73 I pulled the trigger on a Core. The GRC is some solid engineering. Thanks Joe, keep um coming

playing devils advocate with the car industry going towards evs fast, manuals are becoming a niche market which unfortunatly will come at a premium
my local dealer wanted 62k for a base model.
This car is worth $35k max lol. Anything more and we're just getting sold on the hype train.

As a daily with kids and I was looking at a GR Corolla since I already have a manual XSE. However, dealer near me mark up as a little over $20k. Started looking in that region and stumbled upon the mini clubman JCW. What are your thoughts on that vehicle?
I couldn't find one last year, I guess this will also be hard to get.

I know Toyota's special editions are just to have a special, lively color every model year, but this Blue Flame looks KILLER on this GR Corolla! ❤️😩 I swear it is one of the prettiest cars I have ever seen ❤️😩

3:13 are those vents or cameras at the top of the grille? They are right above the GR badge and on the other side.

Dang you get quite a bit of goodies for 42k msrp. Carbon hood, forged wheels, slotted rotors, etc. the No arm test/console is kind of strange. Love all the vents are functional. Really the only zonk for me is the tacked on fender in the rear. If they did a real wide body this would be excellent.
Joe I’m really excited that this car is even available however when I walked into my local dealer network here in the Sacramento area they’re asking 65 to 70,000 for this car that is just ridiculous prices to car out of the market, Hell for that price I could go get a GSF I can understand maybe 5000 over sticker but 20+ the dealers are just greedy.

Is it just me or does it look like they moved the brake pedal over a bit in the walk around. I am shopping for a GR and I noticed the spacing between the brake and gas was a bit wide for heel toe when I was sitting in it. It's a pretty significant concern for me.

Really want one of these, wish I knew how long production would run. With specialty parts and wheels it would be hard to replace or fix back to stock form if they only run for two years.

The car manufacturers need to listen to you, Joe, and hide the rear wiper underneath the spoiler.
The rear wiper is starting to look tacky due to its placement, imo.
You don't even need a rear wiper IMHO.

When you said there was new stuff for 2024, I thought for sure that would have included the lacking for 2023 center armrest. I personally like a center console that rises above the level of the front seats, like the Civic/Integra, and the Elantra N. Anything less to me kind of feels a little low rent. Mazda also does a great job in that regard with the Mazda 3, however; it isn't quite at the same level of performance as the previous mentioned 3. It wouldn't be a deal breaker with the GR Corolla, as the total package is pretty incredible, especially in that new flame blue.
I guess it is about saving some cash

Apparently so, but I am glad the essential performance bits are present and accounted for.
There is a aftermarket armrest available, sixth element (?). More important to me was no spare tire. Fortunately that can be remedied too. For me the GR has more personality than the Golf R

💯 Not even close as far as personality goes. Probably the biggest appeal of the GRC. Same goes for the Elantra N, but of course it's not awd.

So wait wait the front functional vent on the bumper.. they closed it on the circuit addition due to the rear wing down force… so they opened it now? Are they going to close it when they sell it?? Or is it ok to open it ?

Toyota will offer automatic for GR Yaris in Asia for the 2024 year. Not sure if they will also offer the auto option for GR Corolla here.
Will it be quicker than the single motor Volvo EX-30? From a 60-MPH rolling start?
Electrics will all end up faster the most gassers sadly. But they won't have the sounds and the smells! I will cry when the ICE is outlawed.
Another great "Rice Rocket" from Toyota. These are the cars that in Japan the fanatics buy. They are so cramped that this is a "full size" vehicle from their point of view. Such a great color.
