1) I would kill for Packy's unshakable confidence. 2) I saw a little kid with a 6-pound ball leave a 7-8-10 and make it. She hit the 7, bounced the ball off the 7 into the 8, and the angle she hit it at slowly sent the 8-pin bouncing into the 10-pin. My jaw went through the floor, and she walked back like she just did nothing of any significance.
I left a 7-8-10 as a lefty w/ a 15-pound. As soon as it left my hand I knew it was going to leave something funky. But it was the best spare I’ve made yet.
Bloody brilliant Packy! Ive picked up the 6, 7, 10 once. Made my day. Love watching all your content and rise thru the tour and all its events! You are great for the sport. C'maaahhhhnnnn!
Thanks for the content. I was bowling league in Bremerton, WA back in 2003, and converted the 4-6-7 in back to back frames. I had never made it before, and I haven't made it sense.
something that's not too often seen - 5 7 10 or try the whole back row - 7 8 9 10 would be fun to see - also would love to see you do the horse bowling game with someone - great video packy love the channel
Hardest split I've picked up was a banana split at Dairy Queen, which featured bananas, ice cream, hot fudge, marshmallow, whipped cream, and topped with chopped nuts. And to top it off, I picked it up at 7:10pm! I love your split conversion videos and commentary that goes with them.
Nice video Packy! Initial reaction is to focus on the double wood 3-9 and play for a good kick and that did happen once! However, you were persistent on focusing on the 3-7 and proved me wrong in being able to get pin bounces from the 7 pin to the 9 pin and make one as well!. I do believe this spare is easier than the 7-10 which takes an unbelievably lucky bounce.
@@TheHouseBowling Yes! However, I think if you can get enough revs on the backup ball, you might be able to make the 3-7-9 without needing a lucky bouncing off the wall.
@@TheHouseBowling Agree angle is key, and in my ameratur opinion, coming in more from the right with a wider angle would have been my play. It appeared you were producing a high rev rate even with the backup. However, the lanes seemed oily and that the ball motion was not enough to convert both the 3-7 and get the double wood.
I'm a righty and I've gotten pretty much every combo but the 7-10. I love shooting at random pin combos so sometimes when I'm practicing 10 pins I'll try and just nudge the 6 because it gives some very entertaining leaves.

Righty, and left a pin standing in the 3pin spot on a perfect pocket hit, working on a 7bagger.. pin came flying and landed solid as a rock in the 3pin spot 🤣
Definitely would like to see Mitch shoot the 2-8-10s, once he's good to be in the States again. 2-8-10/3-7-9 is definitely the hardest split to make, imo.
I can get you a advice if you want i clear this reverse but with urethane that have more hook against the core and came into the ankle and goes through the pin behind
I'd never picked up the 2-8-10, but I'd gotten everything else at least once (7-10, big-4, church, etc.). So I went to a house where you can set up specific pins, and dialed in an entire 10 frames of nothing but the 2-8-10. Picked it the first attempt, off the wall, across the face of the 10, and smacked hard into the 8, a no-doubter. Didn't come close the rest of the attempts, or anytime since.
Picking up two was impressive enough! I am lefthanded as well and picked up the 4-6-8-10 once(Greek Church minus 7 pin) hitting the 6-10 light with the 6 nicking the 8 that fell forward to take out the 4 pin. I was surprised.
I've made a 5-7-10 split before. I'd actually really like to see you do one of these challenges with it. I also wanted to ask you, why not move a few boards right so you could come in stronger on the three pin? I would think it would more reliably have taken out the 9 pin, and still reliably sent the pin at the 7? If the edges were too dry, then why not use a stronger ball and shift a few boards left?
will agree that split is harder than the 7-10. 7-10 is easier bc its just hit one and get good bounce. the 2-8-10 is much harder bc you have to cover the back pin. love the vids good luck on cheetah tomorrow!
I picked the 2-8-10 the other day with my spare ball, and the 3-7-9 twice with my reactive. All three conversions... in perfect candor, I was just going for the count, and it worked out that I got the spare. It gets easier to make, the less you're actually trying to make it, I think.
Another question r u renting this bowling alley for them to let u do this? Bc I wanna take this challenge but idk how ur the only ones in the alley 😂 im guessing ur renting it out but idk
Got weird ones in candlepins. One time I only took the 1, and 2 out. My least favorite is taking the 1, 8, and 9. (These with full racks.) Taking out the 1, 3, and 8 on a full rack is fun too.
Yeah I typically shoot backup ball right handed at the 2-8-10 but I’ve been taken aback by how difficult it is for the ball to take out both the 2 & 8 on a hit that’s light enough to slide the 2 into the 10, even with a 16lb ball. I did convert once that way, but it was on a bounce out, with surprisingly low velocity. I’m determined to make it with a slide, but I can only shoot at the ones I leave. My left handed uncle always shoots at the 3-7 and hopes for a bounce off the side wall to sweep out the 9. He’s made it a few times that way-I was convinced that’s the best way to go, especially if you can’t throw a backup ball (most people can’t). Very tough but there’s just an elegance to watching a 2>10>8 conversion that you just don’t see in any other leave.
You weren't getting enough back-up motion. Very difficult to convert with essentially a straight ball. How about trying the 4-6. It's possible to slide it over, and you are accurate enough to do it. I enjoy your channel Packy. Keep up the good work!
I've picked the 4 6 10 sliding the 4 over like that. Never just the 4 6 though. Hummed it down and caught a hair of the 4, slid as slow as it gets ticked the 6 as light as possible to knock it over... and somehow it fell back into the 10.
I’ve picked up the 7-10 once, the other day I picked up the 6-7-9-10 in my senior league and I picked up the 2-4-8-10 Wednesday night in my mens league.
6-7-10 hardest pickup. So close to picking up a 2-8-10 though. Bounced the 2 off the wall, ball covered the 8, 2 pin tapped the 10 but didn't knock it over. Also, why not use the spy for a little more continuation but not too much?
We had our League tournament at the Alley in Wichita and I'm still in high school, but during our bakers game, I converted a 6-10-7 which is so far the hardest split I've converted successfully.
I pick it up throwing big hook between the two throwin it into the opposite wall then back across the lane the key is come in behind the front most pin
I know I want you to do some coaching of people. Like holding a clinic on two handed bowling. If you can. I’m not sure if you have to be USBC certified to hold clinics?
Righty. Never made the 2-8-10. One time during a tournament, the house had very lively pits and I left the 2-8-10. So I figured the logical move was to try and bounce the 10 out. Did just that and put it over the 8 took out the 2 and the 8 stood tall.... Gave us all a pretty good laugh.
Lefty - made the 3-7-9 by hitting the left side of the 3, off the sideboard into the 9, and they rolled into the 7. I've made the 8-10 by bouncing the 8 out, the 4-6 by sliding the 4 into the 6, and the 7-10 3 times.... Of course none of them counted because I left other pins standing, just took the 7-10 off them.
As a righty, the hardest split I've "officially" picked up would be the 2-8-10. It was just a random pick up out of nowhere during youth league years ago. The only time I've "converted" the 7-10 was on a 4-7-10 leave and the 4 pin stayed standing >_>
Can you do a 5-7-10 challenge? I'd love to know how that is picket up. Some people have told me that that is the hardest split and the 7-10 is the second hardest.
I've made the 2-4-10, backup plastic attempting to hit the 2-4 "pocket" and ended up hitting the right side of the 2, sending it into the 4 then the wall, and all the way across to hit the 10
I was just going to put I’ve made the 4-6 7 times in the past 3 years with having 4 of them in the last couple months last Monday being the last time I’ve made it
@@codypeck6310 that's super impressive. I think I've made everything possible besides the 4-6. Even thinking about what i've seen made over the years during league/tournaments i rarely see this made. 4-6-7-10, so much more because there's opportunity for more things to bounce, but the 4-6 alone and being more forward on the pin deck has such a lower probability to come out. And sliding it, while possible, seems basically impossible.
Naw, it slides and can get a kick off the pit. Pros will make this at 1.5% plus. It is slightly harder than an 8, 10 or 7, 9 cuz the bounce off the back is farther. The 2,8, 10 or the 3,9, 7 lefty is harder, and the Greek church 5 times harder.
@@livinb450 and this is why I want to see a video. I understand all the things you’re saying. I’m practice though, doesn’t play out like that. We’ve seen the Greek church video, now I want to see this.
A method I don't think anyone on here has mentioned is to hit the double-wood only a degree or two to the outside of center with a relatively slower speed. You can get an amazing double-kiss where the 2 will hit the 8 and the ball can squirt the 2 like a helicopter blade to the right. A former teammate of mine has converted this split twice this way without a lucky bounce out of the pit.
The hardest split I've made was the 4 7 10 (with a conventional ball before I went to fingertip) and also the 6 7 10 (with a fingertip ball). Btw I couldn't help but laugh at about the 8 minute mark because you sounded like a lion, LOL!!!
If I could meet anyone from the house, it'd probably have to be Packy cause I feel like he'd just be so fun to hang out with. Made a 2-8-10 by sliding the 2 into the wall, it ricocheting off the wall hitting the 8 which caused the 8 to fly into the 10
Friend and I were playing lowball where you try to pick the corners off and get the lowest score without guttering. A gutter is a strike/spare. I barely hit the 10. The 10 dominoed into the 9, the 9 into the 8 and the 8 into the 7. Not a split conversion, but one of the oddest things I've done in bowling. Take out the 7-8-9-10 in a full rack.
My favorite story about 2-8-10, I went back to back pick ups in the 9th n 10th frame of 1 game to end up winning my match with a strike in the fill a few years back. I think it does help I can throw my spare ball in the upper 20's so I can get the high speed deflections with the 2 pin off of the side wall to finish the the 8pin off after hitting the 10 with the 2
I've been bowling 32 years and have NEVER converted the 2-8-10 (the righty version of the 3-7-9). I'd love to see a golf shot challenge, which for you would be the 2-4-6-7-8-10. It would be the 3-4-6-7-8-10 for me.
The two hardest I have pulled off were the 2-4-10 and the 5-10 split. Both times I used my 14 pounder Ignitor Solid. I invested a 12 pounder Ebinote Puma the other night and bowled the highest I ever had. I'm still looking to pull my first 300 and my first 7-10 split. I know with more practice, I will pull those two off.
For me, the Big Four twice and the 4-6-10 once. The first time I made the Big Four, I turned around with both hands up yelling "I GOT IT!!" and realized that all four of my teammates and all five guys from the other team were huddled over a deck of cards trying to resolve a dispute. The only person who saw it was some guy's 90-year-old dad who was visiting and I was afraid I had just given that old man a heart attack.
we’d think it would be the 3 hit the 7 but it was the 9 bouncin back for seconds hahahaha good one! then the second one was the 7 hitting the 9 HAHA never did the ideal way of the 3 hitting the 7. best split ive done was 4 7 10. 4 slid to the 10 at the slowest speed possible.
The best spare pick I can recall was the 7-9-10 when I was 15 on a school bowling trip. I'm 44 now. Was impressive at the time and dead chuffed with myself. Never picked it up since. Not exactly a common leave though.
I managed to convert this split hitting the 3 on the LEFT SIDE (not intentionally) and it bounce off the wall and the 9 pin slid into the 7 I was trying to convert it like 12:48 Having ball speed can be useful sometimes

As a righty i like throwin at that spare. I keep my phase3 just for that shot
I think it does help I can throw my spare ball in the upper 20's so I can get the high speed deflections with the 2 pin off of the side wall to finish the the 8pin off after hitting the 10 with the 2
It’s Northrock! Slam em into the curtain.
Lanes #25 and #46 hit solid. 50%
Other 46 lanes thin to win. 2.1739% Another round all solid. 4+ makes guaranteed, brosef!!!
7-10 and a 5-7-10
I’ve gotten both the 4-10 and 6-7 splits before.. as a righty they both were super hard to get lol
I never participated in a split challenge, but the hardest spare that I picked up was the 4-7-10.
I pick up a 2-8-10 split in league competition in November. I used a backup ball throw.
At first I was thinking of the two four ten split and I was like that's easy as hell then I realized wait it's double woof
I managed to convert this split hitting the 3 on the LEFT SIDE (not intentionally) and it bounce off the wall and the 9 pin slid into the 7
I was trying to convert it like 12:48
Having ball speed can be useful sometimes
7-9-10
Do the 4-6-7-9 next.
