I can't believe it's been 20 years since Kingdom Hearts first came out. I was a huge Disney and Final Fantasy fan so I was excited to play it and it didn't disappoint. I still love it to this day.
No commercial ever made me want something quite like the original kingdom hearts commercials. I would get SO excited when Simple and Clean started to play, not even realizing that the actual game would end up far exceeding my already-high expectations. 🥰🥰🥰

I didn't know what it was when I first saw it in my grandparents living room...but I knew it looked amazing. I wanted it too. I remember renting it from Blockbuster and not wanting to give it back.

I don't know why but I find watching these very therapeutic. It's almost like a mental vacation from today's depressing society. "Where a kid can be a kid" or in this case "Where adults can be kids again". let's light one up for the good ol' days

I was born on September 12, 2002. I turned 20 1 week ago. I'm so happy that I was born in the 2000s, I know a lot of people probably say this about their era, but I really do feel like I was a kid during the best possible time. It's hard to describe without making this a long comment, but there was so much great stuff for me to grow up with such as Spongebob and the Spider-Man movies.
None of this stuff would mean shit to you dude. This was like right when you were born. This is for the early mid 90s babies. You grew up when things started turning to shit 2007 and onward.
You didn't really grow up in the 2000s tbh. You were 6 for most of 2009 and even 2009 felt more like the 2010s. I was born on November 27, 1997 and even I barely have memories of 2002

For me, I was 3 to 4 when it came out. But I wasn't introduced to the games until 2 in 2006.
I remember reading an Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine in Fall 2001, the one with the SSBM cover since it was coming out in the next couple of months. I saw beta screenshots of KH1 with Donald and Goofy with their normal clothes. So I kept an eye on that game. I was 14 years old in 9th grade at the in Fall 2002. I saw this commercial when Fox Box replaced Fox Kids. I saw the PLANTb Remix commercial when watching the premiere of Pokémon Master Quest.
Class of 07. I remember having Simple and Clean on my blue SanDisk MP3 player. Good times. 🙂

Those friggin' Turok: Evolution commercials are INSANE! Imagine just going about your every day life, then getting a massive bleeding cut, and then BAM, Dinosaurs! Jump cut, montage to some guy blasting them with bullets. What led them to this decision? How did they come up with this ad campaign? 10/10

what's the deal with video games not being on ads as much anymore? the world has changed an insane amount surprisingly
its weirder considering now video games and gaming in general are bigger than ever. But to be fair what few video game ads we do get these days aren't nearly as creative as back then.
The only ads these days video games get are the big ones who still bother with marketing campaigns, but you're right I miss seeing more of them back in the day even in magazines/comics nowadays I have to keep up with devs to find out what's coming out and it's not the same

Wow, I forgot that last night's Late Night was on Comedy Central. I used to watch it all the time. Loved watching Conan (and I still do!!!) It was on I want to say for like 2 years b/c I remember it being on CC when I was a freshmen in high school.
I forgot how many video game commercials there was back in those days 😅 I was only 12 at the time
I still have the Kingdom Hearts issue of PlayStation Magazine! (Issue 61). Back then, the fact that Final Fantasy and Disney were coming together in a game was mind-blowing. Now I've heard they took out the Final Fantasy component in KH3. What sad times we're in. 😔

Back when ads and commercials weren't painful to sit through. They were over the top but they were entertaining. Used to sit through 4-5 commercials in a row and would hardly notice. Now two 30 second ads seem like a slog.

I just gotta say, Video Game commercials of the early 2000s are the best. Today it's all cinematic and overly produced crap with no real gameplay footage. Early 2000s had that nice blend of both.
ehh i mean honestly you could say the same thing about back then. They used a lot of live action and skits to sell the games, they hardly ever showcased long periods of gameplay

Not included tax, service charge, license fees, paper invoice fee, 911 charge, Communications fake tax, so really it was $84.18 in 2022 for 600 ANYTIME minutes. Plus the telecoms got billions from Federal gubberman to have fiber everywhere and they did nothing near expected and kept the money.
I wish they didn’t cancel Firefly. That was a good show.
