All my sons had very nice wedding parties. One borrowed gown (paid a cousin to rent her's) One from thrift store, one altered from that. Attendents wore mismatched dresses - ones they already had. All had receptions at party center, owned by employers, (discount) on cancelled by somebody dates. Band was friends. Cheap, cause they were invited anyway. We fed them, the boys cook, it was fun ! Party on ! Take the money and buy a house, and a business property and another house, an education, etc. etc. Good Life ! !

It is so interesting to hear the "short people" explaining to even younger ones about how and why "we do things, this way". Wonder if we (the world's sensible population) can teach or re-teach, the wider population, the skills needed to thrive in the coming future. Can people learn to learn ? If Trump were Captain of Titanic:
"There isn't any iceberg. There was an iceberg but it's in a totally different ocean. The iceberg is in this ocean but it will melt very soon. There is an iceberg but we didn't hit the iceberg. We hit the iceberg, but the damage will be repaired very shortly. The iceberg is a Chinese iceberg. We are taking on water but every passenger who wants a lifeboat can get a lifeboat, and they are beautiful lifeboats. Look, passengers need to ask nicely for the lifeboats if they want them. We don't have any lifeboats, we're not lifeboat distributors. Passengers should have planned for icebergs and brought their own lifeboats. I really don't think we need that many lifeboats. We have lifeboats and they're supposed to be our lifeboats, not the passengers' lifeboats. The lifeboats were left on shore by the last captain of this ship. Nobody could have foreseen the iceberg."

there's a distillery in the small town I live in (in Ontario, Canada - Dillons Distillery) that is doing the same, and has been for about a month. so far, they've given away over 30,000 bottles of 750mL (thats about 1/5 of a gallon) of 80% alcohol for sanitizing with instructions to make sanitizer if you wish to make sanitizer with it. They've been giving it away to front-line workers however; ie. nurses, doctors, police, paramedics, grocery store works, pharmacy, etc. But they've given away so much and other distilleries around here are starting to get on board!

When I was in college I thought a fifth was a fifth of a liter (200ml) not gallon because liquor bottles are always labeled in metric so it made more sense. My roommate's eyes almost popped out of his head when I told him I only drank a fifth the night before.

They are now legends, as some other busniesses will be when all of this is over.
There's going to be a reckoning - where we see who the heroes were, and who the villains were.
    These are heroes.
eBAY hoarders of hand sanitiser, trying to sell at atrocious prices - are villains.
They are already seeing multiple one-star reviews that will mean that nobody will ever buy anything from them every again.

Thats cute you think donations is a part of capitalism. In which sense? Can one accumulate capital? Make profit? Expand?
The fact donations are necessary means capitalism has failed and without donations people cant get by. This is why government handouts “donations without expectation to repay” is called socialism by the mainstream media. You see this everywhere, capitalism goes day to day earn more profits but in a time of crisis, our innate ability to care prevails, we do things just to help, you sacrifice profit for people. Thats the opposite, not the same.
