Well it will definitely slow the number of _reported_ mild cases. But it will come at the cost of an increased number of unreported cases, and some percentage of those will be serious and fatal. 2-4 weeks later that lower number of tested will mean a higher number of dead. That's the kind of trade-off president death panel is willing to make for no other reason than to appease his own ego.

If they only test 200 people a day and 90% of those people don’t have the virus, then they only are reporting a max of 20 new cases for their county.

The figures do not actually reflect the real number of people dying from Covid-19. Everyone that dies from any medical complication right now is labeled as a Covid-19 victim and that is a fact. One of my best friends is a medical doctor and internal medicine specialist in Miami and we talk on a daily basis. The Covid-19 is very contagious but it does not lead to more fatalities than the seasonal flu! Also, all major media outlets in the United States are controlled by a few big corporations that present only one side of each story - the side of the story that serves their agenda! But it will come at the cost of an increased number of unreported cases, and some percentage of those will be serious and fatal. 2-4 weeks later that lower number of tested will mean a higher number of dead. That's the kind of trade-off president death panel is willing to make for no other reason than to appease his own ego.

If they only test 200 people a day and 90% of those people don’t have the virus, then they only are reporting a max of 20 new cases for their county.

The Covid-19 is very contagious but it does not lead to more fatalities than the seasonal flu! Also, all major media outlets in the United States are controlled by a few big corporations that present only one side of each story - the side of the story that serves their agenda! This is where the term "fake news" originated from and the media outlets are literally creating news these days....It is very hard to tell what is real and what is made up and a lot of people are frustrated and confused, especially now...and a lot of them blame it on POTUS....

Have you heard about spanish flu? Which didn’t came from spain but originated from america.
If you want to talk about statistic, spanish flu infected 500mill, with 50mill deaths.
Thats what happened when goverments covered up what happened and state media back it up, when there was no social distancing implemented, when health facilities was not adequate.
So, there is a history for flu pandemic, that is why expert are concern about another flu pandemic (sars, mers, covid-19).
All of that are just statistics and numbers, until it happens to you or your family.
By the way, what are you talking about....There is also a concern about obesity, thats is why there is country that implemented sugar tax on food and drink, there are hype in diet, gym, healthy food, etc. It just because obesity slowly kill that it lacks the aura of urgency covid-19 have.
There is also a concern about car accident, where do you think all that safety features car have came from, it came from customer that concern about their safety, and regulation by goverment who concern about the number of car accidents.
Many things are being done to solved obesity and car accident problems (the 2 examples you gave).
I do have opposition on quarantine and lock down, because the affect it would have on poor people with day to day income, unless goverment can give social safety net, this is a hard trade-off to swallow.
