"Cinderella" was the song I danced to with my father at my wedding almost 7 years ago. My dad and I loved that song when I was growing up and the only thing I planned for my wedding as a kid was dancing to that song with my dad, especially since we did go to dad-daughter dances. There wasn't a dry eye between the two of us.

“To Sir With Love”
I never married, but if I had, I would've picked this song for my Dad and I. Like in the song/movie, my Dad was a teacher, and I would've loved to surprise him with this song because it's very meaningful to me. I'm almost 54, and I'll probably never get married, but the worst part is that he passed away in September of 2022, so even if I do get married someday, he won't be able to walk me down the aisle, and that really breaks my heart. I love you Dad. R.I.P.
I'm surprised that "You Can Let Go Now Daddy" by Crystal Shawanda didn't make it on this list, it's an incredible song about a father letting his daughter go at the right moments. I love it myself, and want it played at my wedding.
Some of my favorites are: Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman, Father and Daughter by Paul Simon, and My Little Girl by Tim McGraw. Each one makes me cry now because my father died in 2016. He loved these songs, too. He wasn't the most vocal about how much he loved my brother and me, but he communicated with words. He wrote letters to me when I was first born(think Dear Theodosia in Hamilton). I miss him daily.
😭Ive been listening to butterfly kisses since i was a child and have so much sentiment with this song. Unfortunately, after almost loosing my dad in October of 2021, near my birthday, i cant listen to this song anymore without crying really hard. still a very beautiful song. ❤

Dance with My Father by Luther Vandross. Luther Vandross wrote the song to relive the best memories with his own father, who died when he was eight years old after he suffered a diabetic coma. Luther is now reunited with his father. Rest in peace to the artists featured in the video and their fathers.
I never realised this, that's very heartwarming. At least they are together in the afterlife now.
He's talked about the effects of his father’s death in plenty of interviews. Once his father died, he turned to food for comfort despite his family history of diabetes as his siblings also died from diabetes. I can relate as I also have family members who also died from diabetes. His diet was so well-known similar to Elvis that the show The Boondocks made a joke out of it.

Nope. Let Me Be Your Wings from Thumbelina is not on here. Fail. I've sung that to my daughter since she was 2. She is now fifteen and to this day if I sing it she will cry.
