I've lived my life my way. I'm 71 and live alone in Indiana and spend my days watching tv and my computer... It's good to see how others live and just ran across your site. Sub'd , rang the bell & liked!! love cooking, children and enjoy video's like yours. Children are the greatest source of free love in the world!!! Vet and pastor
@@FinalFrontierHomestead-i5t I have 4 kids, 4 grand kids and 1 great grand kid... can't imagine life w/o them. Except I would have more retirement money... lol
That is our whole goal, to show folks what it’s really like living off grid in Alaska as we feel we were lead astray by many. Even though we love this life and wouldn’t trade it for the world, it’s a lot tougher than people realize. And I really appreciate you acknowledging that! Thank you so much!
Terrific seeing you and Dawson out there. He fell, picked himself up. Good little man. Also knows how to put things back ("bag toss"); hope you get him to connect that with taking things out. Haha. Best to you, Justin and the lad.
Thank you so much! And yes, Dawson is such an awesome little boy! He loves being outside and challenging himself to walk up and down our driveway “hill”! 🤣 And me too! I can’t wait for those babbles to turn into words! We appreciate you following along on our wild journey!
Wow, you sure get a workout every day. I'm so happy you and Dawson get outside for fresh air. Thank you for carrying for your safety. Nice pistol, by the way. I love the dinner you made. The Halibut looked super yummy.
Oh yeah! Living off grid is a great way to stay in shape! 🤣 Thanks guys! ❤️❤️ And dinner was delicious! Next time you come visit I’ll be sure to make you some!
You definitely keep BUSY!! Lots to be done for sure. I think that your son is going to be really talkative very soon !! Dinner looked really good! Wishing you all the very best.
Yes I do! And I think so too! He is already so animated I can’t wait for those babbles to become words! And thank you so much! Dinner was sooo good! Wish I could share it with you!
5:27 Dawson sleeping… I’ve got a lot of pictures of my son babbling and then suddenly his head would drop and he’d be sound asleep. Nice memories. My son is about to graduate from high school. Crazy how fast they grow up.
Hey Great to see you guys we getting brutal cold down here anyway beautiful video I lov the whole deal love the outside shots live the baby he bad to the bone haha love it be safe and great future to your family wish the best catch you guys on the next one 😀🙏👍🔥👍
Hey! Thank you so much! He’s going to be such a wild child and tough as nails! I heard it was getting cold down in the lower 48! Stay warm down there and thanks for watching!
My mother once told me that when i was about your son's age, I would take all the pots and pans out of the lower kitchen cabinets and play with them. I must have made lots of noise. With Aloha...
Moisture absorbers are a good thing. We converted a two bay garage into a house. :) and a camping toilet they are great to have so you dont have to go outside.
You are a true Alaskan Off-gridder now. You enjoy the silence, you strap on the gun before going outside with your son and whenever the temp is above 0 it is "baumy" outside. Enjoy the freedom you have up there. 😁
Haha thanks man, I love this gun! Took me a long time to find a 45 that fit my small hands comfortably and still be able to shoot accurately, but this one checked all of the boxes! Thanks for watching!
@FinalFrontierHomestead-i5t I understand completely! I have a 9, but I've been looking for a good 1911 style that works well for my hands, too. The 9 is a bit too small for my hand, but with an extended 13rd it fits much better. Can you give me the specifics on that one, if you don't mind? My e mail is on my about page if you don't want to p off the YT gods with too much boom stick talk.
Finding the right gun took me so long, I honestly cannot even count how many different types I held and shot in this process. This one was just perfect for my small hands though, here is a link to the gun so you can check it out. shopkahrfirearmsgroup.com/desert-eagle-1911-u-stainless-two-tone/ It’s totally stock, we didn’t do a thing to it. My husband built his own custom 1911 full size 45 on a cheap 1911 Tisas frame with all Wilson Combat parts and it’s a pretty sick gun. It’s heavy and bulky to carry, but it’s much more accurate than mine since mine has the shorty 3” barrel. We could talk guns for days 😅
@FinalFrontierHomestead-i5t Most definitely! I was a little worried that yours was bigger than mine, but I still have an 1/8" on you! 🤣 Yours just looks bigger on you (must be perspective, lol). But just be aware of how much content you include in your videos about those. YT will de-monentize individual videos or multiple videos if they feel like it. I'd hate to see you guys take a hit right off the bat, because they do count strikes against your channel. Thanks for the info! I'll keep rambling on if you let me...
Lol yeah, I’m pretty small so that gun looks huge on me, even though it’s tiny 😅 And yeah, I spent some time with the demo ranch folks, if you’ve heard of them, and learned about some of the de-monetization stuff. I don’t plan to post much gun stuff as I know TH-cam doesn’t like it, and there’s plenty of gun nut channels out there. I just wanted to show off my favorite gun 😊
I’ve got a video about our hot water system if you want to check it out! But I plan to show our homemade shower off in a video soon! We use our hot water and a big horse trough that we bring inside to shower and dump the water out into buckets and carry those outside just like you see in this video 😊
We use a lot of water everyday and when the ground is frozen it just spreads out into a massive ice pond below the snow and then when spring rolls around it creates a lake until the ground unthaws, so we try to keep the water as far away from our house as possible so it doesn’t create a problem for our footings and for us.
👍👍👍👍. Great video & your little boy is so cute 💕. Thanks for the video ! Take care
Thank you so much!
Great stuff! My daughter is an adult now and this made me miss those little days. Keeping moving keeps us young!
Thanks man, I know I will definitely miss these days and am so glad I will always have these videos to look back on. And that is for sure!

You've shared some stuff no one else shares(and I watch a lot of off grid videos) and I appreciate that. I am impressed with your little set up!

Dawson does the same thing! And it is wild how fast they grow up!
Nice look into your day. Thank you for sharing.

Awe, thank you so much!
That bread looks so good is right was drooling watching you eat it lol
Lol it was delicious!
Good job guys, I've always wanted to do that. Who knows maybe some day when I get tired of dealing with people 😂. Wishing you the best!!!
Thank you so much!! It’s a very tough but very rewarding way of life that is for sure!
Momma is packin 🔥HEAT🔥 for the critters! LOL
Lol yes I am! Always on the lookout, luckily our “neighborhood” has remained pretty predator free so far, we’ve only had visits from moose and fox.
Love it!!!
Thanks guys!! ❤️❤️
My mother once told me that when i was about your son's age, I would take all the pots and pans out of the lower kitchen cabinets and play with them. I must have made lots of noise. With Aloha...
Dawson used to do the same thing! I actually ended up having to lock them up in a tote because otherwise I would have to do dishes 5 times a day 🤣🤣
Moisture absorbers are a good thing. We converted a two bay garage into a house. :) and a camping toilet they are great to have so you dont have to go outside.
I almost licked my monitor :) over your bread!!!
So interested in the moisture absorbers! What do you use for that? And lol thank you, that bread is soooo good!!

Thank you so much, I do really appreciate that! Sometimes it’s a little shocking how normal that is to me now, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Happy New Year!! 🐾tyfs🐾
Happy new year!! Thanks for watching!
HEY! Gooooood morning !
Good Morning!!
I was going to ask about your pretty little noisemaker on your hip. I'm a bit jealous, I must say! ;) Thanks for sharing! -Dusty

How little are we talking? I’m 6’5” and you’re not short, you’re just more down to earth.
Haha thank you, I really appreciate that! But I am only 5’0 so those pants are pretty small 🤣
👍👍
How do you take a shower n wash dishes?
I’ve got a video about our hot water system if you want to check it out! But I plan to show our homemade shower off in a video soon! Awe, thanks!
Where do people work in Alaska and by whom?
Lots of jobs in Alaska, most towns are just like towns in the lower 48 so pretty normal jobs, just a little more laid back work in our small town.
@FinalFrontierHomestead-i5t what people are werking in Alaska? Are they from other place or they Born in Alaska?
Why do you walk so far away with the buckets why not up closer to the house
We use a lot of water everyday and when the ground is frozen it just spreads out into a massive ice pond below the snow and then when spring rolls around it creates a lake until the ground unthaws, so we try to keep the water as far away from our house as possible so it doesn’t create a problem for our footings and for us.
