I lived in a place called Kanchanburi Thailand close to the pass they fought in. They also had a fight with just two roosters. Naresuan was bad ass and much loved in Thai culture! The movies are excellent. The studio was just outside of town near Prasat Nuang Sing so it was a great place have fun. That gun was crazy long, I saw a lot of the props used in the movies.

The famous duel that took place in 1592,between the Burmese royal crown prince and king Naresuan the great,of Siam, was notably disputed by some historians as dramatical without element of truth, but Burmese conquest and subjugation of Siam was neutralised over the next two centuries, before finally dominating them again in 1767.

      - Kindom of War

Reminds me of vlad the impaler right before he became a ruler. And the king that took over China after he couldn't keep control of his mother land after he won it back but it got conquered by a different country when he was away in a war. He won the war but was too weak to take back his country and never went back but he did conquer part of modern China and stayed there for the rest of his life. He hated it and wrote about how much he missed his homeland esp the food. Apparently Chinese food was pretty bland in comparison and the dude was a total foodie after he gave up alcohol as a tribute to his religion.

Please check your information again, for Cambodian history. After the Varman dynasty ended, the Khmer Kingdom no long flourished. The new ruler was Trasok Paem, and his descendants. Not long after the change, this country had been under Siam for over 400 years. Even when the great King of Siam, King Naresuan had war with Burma; he called the troops (that period in Cambodia was called Longvek) from Cambodia to be the supporting troop for Siam. After being under Siam for such a long time, they asked France to help protect their country from Siam. They rather be French colony more than being Siam’s colony.🤣 This long period of time, being under Siam, they called it the Dark Age. Very recently, they changed this inauspicious name to Middle Period.
In THIS region, in terms of history, Burma and Siam were mighty countries. Laos was a so so. But in my point of view, Cambodia has always been a weak country, up until now.
