Just got my '18 STI up to 350hp and 350 tq. Top mount, injectors, pump, CAI, Turbo back exhaust, and 2 new stickers. lol. This was always my dream car since I was a kid. It's so much fun getting to make it more entertaining.
Hey super sick build!! i was wondering what you were running in front of the radiator? I think you said it was some front brace bar. Is it possible that you can link where you got that part from??
You’re not as limited as you think on the stock block. You can go to 450 WHP and have it reliable just depends who builds tour car. There are several ways at looking at it but I say build the car and if you blow the stock motor then build it after that. A stage 2 Tuff shortblock from IAG is not too expensive if you happen to destroy a piston in the stock block. I am running close to 500WHP and I had a very good shop build my car (Boost Controlled Performance). I always figured That if I blow the stock motor, then at least I get those miles out of it before I spend any extra money.
I guess I’ll let ya know! Lol I have about 12k miles on mine since built, and mine is stock block 2017. I do run equal length headers, cylinder 4 cooling mod, AOS and E85 which is about all I can do to help reliability. It’s an absolute blast and when the motor goes IAG goes in.
Around how much did you spend on all the engine mods? I definitely want to do the same set up as you since I have a 2017 STi as well, car is completely stock other than a catback exhaust, but I want to start modifying it soon
Got a DP and intake being installed and tuned. I have the DW300c fuel pump. Do you think I need to run injectors also? Not changing the headers. Thanks
@@Autofreakgarage interesting. I get so many conflicting ansewrs. I talked to my local subie tuner and shop and they said jus the pump will be fine. Maybe because it is just a daily? idk... Thanks for the reply!
Hey! I was trying to get the killer b oil pan kit for my wrx but I was wondering if that’s only for the sti ? Because for wrx they don’t have a oil pan kit that I know of. And is there any reason why that is ? Nice video !
do you have a recommendation for an air oil filter for a 21 sti limited? the one you recommend says it doesnt work with mine. Also have you thought about setting up a discord so people can ask questions and stuff there? and your subs/community can chat?
Are you referring to an aos? To be completely honest, I’m not a big fan of social media in general. The amount of ways to connect is pretty insane and overwhelming to keep up. I feel I’m fairly responsive on here and Instagram, so I am not sure another media of contact is necessary. I won’t dismiss doing something like that in the future, but as of right now, I don’t think I have plans to start one.
I wouldn’t go over 20psi on stock block. I’m just under that threshold of keeping it safe on the stock internals. I can certainly turn it up, but I’d prefer less power and more reliable than more power and less reliable.
@@Autofreakgarage you'd be fine with hitting 20 PSI in your mid range. Your stock turbo won't hold over 18 psi through into redline anyway. That's reliable all day. Did your tuner not tell you this?
No. I only said I wanted a reliable setup and wherever the numbers landed, that’s where they would land. I wasn’t pushing for anything specific as I know the limitations of a stock ej.
@@Autofreakgarage well weather you know it or not. You have a few pounds left to push safely between 3500 to 5000 RPM. I've been building and tuning Subarus for over 15+ years. All that money spent on this build and you are only pushing 18 PSI because you are maybe misinformed and possibly a little scared. It's okay. Nice money spent though!
I have a question. I have the Same setup as you basically besides the radiator, cooling mod 4, oil baffle pickup and I have no headers. Only thing I have over you are the TGV deletes. I’m tuned at 23 PSI at 319WHP/388WTQ. Does the PSI # seem to be pushing the little stock turbo
The turbo is definitely holding just fine at 18PSI. I don’t feel much of the drop off at all. However? It’s definitely reaching its peak, so wouldn’t be able to go much more on the vf. I would recommend staying
@@Autofreakgarage I don’t feel the drop off until after 6,000, from 3,000 to 6,000 she’s a ripper. That’s insane that your at 18 PSI pushing 340 and 360 wheel with that setup. I feel like my tune isn’t dialed then cause they only did one pull for each mode. I hope my turbo doesn’t blow
@@Autofreakgarage it's what I have and really enjoy it, our cars are very similar when it comes to performance mods, you have a lot more carbon and titanium though, love the detail. How much did elh change the sound? Do you miss the rumble? I've been struggling with going elh but love the rumble
It changes it alot there’s still a rumble there, believe it or not. The sound difference really only shows at wot. Don’t miss the rumble at all. Paired with all the pros going el, I have no regrets.

Nice video, is that 340hp to the crank or WHP? Here in the UK we deal with hp (crank). Thanks

How much psi? Mine on stage 2 only made 262hp atw but on stock boost the tuner said he prefers not to use a 3port boost controller
18PSI
Does the mod parts available for v10?

The el headers are the main reason. Uel is very restrictive. Opening up the headers allows for easier gains with less stress.
All this video did was stress me out and make me paranoid.. why does this car need so many mods to stop it from turning into a grenade?
To do it the right way, it’s just what it takes to do it reliably.
ID1050x or ID1300 injectors?
Cobb 1050x
How much power can you safely put on stock motor?
Did you ever test the Borla exhaust in your quest for the right catback?
I did not, never tried that one.
