Wow, what an epic day out you all had. I wish I could've joined you but had other commitments. Exmoor is stunning and brutal. A step above the neighbouring hills of the South West. Must visit those tea rooms with family when in the area! Impressed you did Selworthy Beacon too as that's a beast in itself (only driven it myself). Bummer about the drone. You could've done without that extra weight. Thanks for the hard work planning the routes, riding, filming, narrating and editing!
Selworthy Beacon was a lovely climb, long but not as steep and the views were amazing. I need to have a play with the drone and find out what happened. It was connectivity issue, which when I’m using it regularly isn’t a problem, but if I leave it for a couple of weeks, it all needs linking again and for that I need WiFi 🤷♂️. We will definitely be back to the area, we have a couple of Porlock climbs to tick off
Thanks Lewis! After the route plan mishap at Selworthy Beacon, I got to the cafe knowing I already had one video, and that it would need to be two. It ended up being a long day out, with an 08:30 start and we didn’t get back until 18:20 😬 so we had plenty of content.
Amazing footage/editing and that was just the intro. You can be assured I have never worked in minehead. Did like the look of the cafe but will be driving to it.
It was a nice cafe, Perriwinkle Tea rooms, but they were only doing coffee and cake as they are on a reduced menu. There is a nice walk in the woods as well, but it was a steep incline on some of the paths. It’s right next to the big white Church.
Thanks Justin, I thought my intro was rubbish, so did Darren, he wisely cut 80% of it where I was wittering on about the Somerset Coal Canal or something irrelevant to cycling. Cheers, The bloke in the tunnel.
Thanks Peter, the editing was more to do with the time length of the intro, as I try to keep it around about the same. It was a good intro, so thank you for taking the time to film and send it in.
A good effort up Dunkery Beacon, your vlogs get more and more entertaining and are encouragement to all your 1000+ subscribers to get out on their bikes.
It didn’t feel like a good effort yesterday, the heat and carrying the extra weight of the drone didn’t help, although I don’t usually excel on steep climbs, I seemed to find it really difficult yesterday. But thank you Peter, I’m helped in the entertainment with a great group of people to ride with and some dodgy route planning from Komoot 😂
@@DarrenPhillips it most definitely does. Glad everyone enjoyed the ride. I certainly did watching it. Shame you couldn't publish the whole route just for me 😂☺️
@@DarrenPhillips good luck with porlock hill I gracefully fell into the hedge on the first very steep narrow corner many years ago when riding a 125cc Yamaha 😂

Oddly enough, you just reminded me to test fly the drone and it linked first time! 🤷♂️ technology 🤦♂️
@@DarrenPhillips Strange but good news!
a great vlog Darren , maybe a Tandem might get me back on the bike something to think a bout 👍
Not a bad idea Terry!
Great video guys. Had to watch to the end of both videos before I ventured out on my bike. Stay safe on the roads.
Brilliant, thanks Steve, have a good ride, the weather is amazing at last!
Great effort all, ace double helping!! 👏🏽

Great ride and videos. Well done.
Thanks Peter, I’m not sure if it was the ride or the marathon editing that’s drained me the most!! 😂

“It was like cycling through tar!” 👍🏼
I think it was just that steep! But it was mega tough.
Again great footage and I recognised several spots on the road ☺️ did you cycle up from Wheddon cross past Raleighs Cross back towards Taunton?
We did indeed! The road seemed to be consistently climbing up after Wheddon Cross.

That was a hill! Well done worth it for those views tho.
It was a beast of a hill made harder by the heat. Just beautiful at the top
