    Have you ever had any issues with beads being too crowded on Mirabilia/Nora Corbett designs? I'm stitching At the Met which has some heavily beaded areas, using the called for 32 ct wichelt fabric, and my beads aren't fitting in nicely. I'm getting a little frustrated trying to squeeze them all in. Any tips?

    • @HyggeStitcher
      @HyggeStitcher  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Yes this has happened to me a few times however, I still choose to use 32ct fabric. What I have done in the past is to skip a row of beads or skip a bead where it’s over crowding. For example if it’s a row doing down … I find by the time you add the fifth bead you can skip one and then keep going. I should also add that when I attach beads I use a full X so the bead is straight up and down. I hope that helps or at least gives you some insight on how I overcome this issue when it comes up. Thank you so much for watching !! -Samantha 🦋

    ❤❤❤ I love it all ! And I feel you in the 40 count or higher because I have to use a hoop or Qsnap on these fabrics all the other ones I can stitch in hand ! But the zodiac is always soooo impreso to see! It’s nice of your daughter to give you the dates of the zodiac so you can stitch on it in the month. Every time I see I kinda wanna buy it 😅❤❤❤ besos love you friend 😘

    30 wips??!! Omg. Yes, that gives me anxiety. I always was monogamy type stitcher. But I'm up to 12 now. And that enough for my anxiety! Lol Your Owl forestry patchwork Quilts is gorgeous! How do you like her floss? I'm working on her Black Vintage Sampler with her threads. I love them. So soft. Can't wait to see what you stitch next. Andnim saving the rest of my summer quacker for January as well. I know I will need it

    Samantha, I’m always excited to see a video post from you, your enthusiasm inspires me so much! I just got back from a cruise to St. John, Nb, Halifax, Quebec City and PEI, so not much Stitchy time lately, but now that I’m home I’m ready to get back to Welcome to the North Pole by Primrose Cottage. I started with the SAL in July, but didn’t stick with their sections, so I’m not really sure if I’ll finish in November or not, lol! I think you start Grimm’s Garden, it looks amazing! Thank you for introducing a new designer to me!

    I'm of 2 minds when it comes to how many projects to have. Having very few means they get more dedicated time, but burnout can happen, or the project isn't working for ones lifestyle currently. But having tons of projects can lead to decision fatigue, nothing ever seems to get finished, but you also have variety to fit your lifestyle and challenge prompts if you're in challenge groups.
    I just did about 60% of a massive project this year, got it finished, and am now wandering aimlessly in the "what should I work on now" phase. It feels like I've worked on nothing but that 1 project, despite having finished 9 other things, and I've touched all but 1 project this year so far.
    So, I made what probably will end up being a terrible decision, but I started 15 projects (so far 😂). 14 are ornaments, 1 is medium sized and 3 of those 15 are already finished. 😇 So I'm up to 23 projects, which feels like too many, but I did at least try to be responsible and not do 15 medium or large projects.
    And theres 4-5 new starts left to start through new years.
    But if you don't start it, you can't ever work on it or finish it. So I'm now set with a pile of smalls if I "need" a finish, or if I need a travel piece, I've gotten a bunch of fabric out of the stash which is nice, and I can continue to wrestle with the idea of how many is too many. (I range from 9-20ish projects at any given time.)

    Thanks so much for sharing your stitching with us. I hope you won't mind my asking, but what kind of thread do you use for all of your Mirabilia beadwork? The only beadwork I've done so far is with Mill Hill kits, and those use DMC thread. I have one of the pixie fairies and Princess Eliana kitted up but haven't started them yet because I got a bit stuck trying to figure out the beading thread part. Any advice you have to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    • @HyggeStitcher
      @HyggeStitcher  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No problem 😊 I use invisible thread to bead however, I didn’t start off that way. In the past I used dmc thread that matched the fabric. One strand and stitching them down by making a x stitch. I hope that this inspires you to get started. You can do it !!

    I was wondering. Do you have any tips for stitching with Kreinik? One strand or two.? I’ve heard some people knot the thread at the eye? Does this help? Also…one more question….do you stitch your Kreinik section after all the other stitching has been done…before beads? Love your energy on your videos…..❤️

    • @HyggeStitcher
      @HyggeStitcher  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Barbara, Great Questions!! I will stitch one stand of kreinik along side with DMC then usually I bead at the very end. My best advise to use a 26 or 24 size needle that will make it easier to thread. Also I shorten the length as this prevents the thread from shredding. I hope this helps then next time you give it a try! Thank you so much for watching and I hope to see you again soon. Until then Happy Stitching. -Samantha

    Beautiful projects. I currently have three Hawk Run projects. The only one on 40 count is Autumn. I like stitching with two threads because I like the deeper color saturation so that is the only project on 40 count. I do a little seasonal stitching with other things.

    What do you do with your Mirabilias once you're done with them? Do they have to be taken to a Framer because the beads prevent you from ironing and framing it yourself?

    • @HyggeStitcher
      @HyggeStitcher  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I struggle with this … after I complete a Mirabilia it gets folded and tucked away in a drawer. It’s the cost of framing that stops me from completing the piece. When the time comes I will give the stitch a fresh wash and then iron for framing. I place the fabric face down on a plush towel and the top with a thin tea towel before ironing. This gives the beads I nice look without melting the invisible floss on the back. Thank you for watching and for your question! 🦋

    You're welcome! It's great that you could get the circles stitched on the Tiny Modernist pattern so you can skip to the section you want to work on.

    I was stitching and had my feet up with a warm cup of tea. I always enjoy your videos. You are so warm and positive! I would love to see your Luna done! I’ve done 25 ofNora’s Pixies but haven’t done a witch yet. I was lucky enough to show off my pixies to Nora herself at the Queen City Retreat last weekend. The exclusive design she did for it is so pretty. Eventually it will be available for free to everyone. I am working on it today while catching up on Flosstube.

      Sarah, you made my day!! You get it and I so appreciate you taking the time to share with me. I'm 100% going to download the Queen City Retreat release, its so beautiful. If Nora comes back for another time I will be trying my hardest to get there !! I would love to simply be in the same room with other Nora fans and see all the projects being stitched on! Goals !! I hope you will join me again soon. Until then happy stitching -Samantha

    All of your WIP's are coming along beautifully. I'll admit, I felt a little faint at the thought of 30 on the go lol ! In my head, I can imagine 12, one for each month, even that for me would be a little scary. As it's you, definitely go for it, can't wait to see your new starts.

    I’m the same way - I love to have many WIPs at the same time - I even made a cross stitch game so I can give myself little tasks for each WIP. Love your page - from all flosstubers that I’ve seen so far you my fav ☺️

    HI! If you want to switch to Spring Quaker, I will put my Summer Quaker away and stitch the Spring Quaker with you!!! I started Luna and would love to see yours completed. You can do it!! I was planning on 2023 being the year of completing WIPS - I have 1/2 completed. And then I got off track. LOL!! I need to get back on track and finish my WIPS but they are so big!! I send to pick big projects. So I am trying to finish one - then add a new start.

      Hi Beth! I'm still debating on Summer Quaker as I would love to make a little more progress before switching over to Spring. This coming January sounds like a good time to do so. Hey, Did you see the teaser on Lila's Studio Instagram? Autumn Quaker is coming soon !! I too tend to pick bigger projects, I cant help it!!

    Love your videos ❤. Please be careful counting off the green border on Summer Quaker. I thought that was a good idea also and found errors in doing so 😮

      Thank you! I keep forgetting to mention this when I talk about the Summer Quaker stitch. I have downloaded the correction to avoid this mistake. Thank you for watching Dawn :)
