Getting into, and staying in, God’s Word every day is a very important key to all of this, but it can be a difficult thing to maintain. Accountability has really helped me in this area, a fantastic tool for this has been doing on-line bible studies with a small group of brothers in Christ. By making comments about that days reading, or simple knowing it shows whether or not I've looked at it supplies the level of accountability needed to help keep me engaged. As a side benefit, when I was going through a rough patch, one of my brothers noticed the change and reached out to offer encouragement.
Such an enormous teaching for men, especially as our egos are so often if not always standing strong in the way of us men. Let's be accountable to men before being subjected to God. Man, this is so so good.❤
Absolutely, brother! 🙌 Our egos can be such a huge stumbling block, and it’s powerful to recognize that. Being accountable to other men is key-it helps us stay grounded and humble before God. 💪 When we surround ourselves with brothers who sharpen us, we grow stronger in our walk with Him. Iron sharpens iron, right? ⚔️ This teaching is a reminder for all of us to let go of pride and lean into the accountability that helps us stand firm in faith. Vince, thank you for your honesty and openness. As always, brother, you bring out some great points. "Accountability" is usually presented as a stronger guy keeping track of another guy and his every move. Your perspective is that it is up to the one wanting accountability to initiate and follow up. I've had several men ask me to be their "accountability partner" but it was up to me to contact them and ask the tough questions. That just plain doesn't work. I'm thrilled to pray with men and help as I can, but I can't guess what is happening in their lives and guess when or how to contact them. You always give me a perspective to think about. I think this has been the missing element to the whole accountability idea.
Amen brother I totally agree. I never really have too much to say about your sermon so I'm not in that group LOL. I've gotten this fellowship from my group. For speaking out and it was handled incorrectly. But I'm looking for another group to become a part of I do not shy away from accountability. I want to be part of the right group one that can glorify God. When were my meager talent can be used by God with a group. I want men in my life who I can be accountable to because that is part of a unit and I want a unit I want a squad. If you were one of these men that doesn't have a group go out and find a group it's okay you may just find one man who becomes your brother in arms and that's all you need to start with. Eventually one will become 2 and 2 will become 8. And things will start to change and God will open up stuff in your life. I'm so excited to see who God is going to put in my life. What men are going to come into my life. Have hope be strong. Thank you again brother Miller for putting this person to perspective and answering the questions I had
