It's all symbolic. Trees and plants represent thought processes. Earth is reality. A Stone is a fact. Water is emotion. These are loose interpretations. It's too late to figure it all out and people who know mostly forbid themselves from telling because it hurts like a MF. It was never meant for the masses, who are in "Babylon", INTENT on worshiping "Moloch" and "Baal", regardless of what they think it all says, and regardless of accountability and consequences. Incredible how Septuagint is simply not discussed at all. Davis here is doing all kinds of omissions as if documentary evidence is all there is to the writing. Same mistake similar to labeling Hammurabi as the first lawgiver only because his cylinder of laws is the one we found intact. Anyway, the oral tradition plays a huge part in the transmission of writing. Look up how Vedic writings were transmitted. The oral tradition in Hebraic literature also plays large probably more so compared to Indic tradition.

Regarding translating simple language with two words into more complex language using one word, here is an example from English when grappling with a new invention. We started with "horseless carriage" and that became "car" over time. English today is much more complex that it was even 100 years ago because we have so many more concepts to express now. Yet, we often do so more succinctly.
I didn’t understand why he struggled so much with that explanation given that that was his area of expertise. It was as if no one had ever asked him that before. I realize other researchers in his field wouldn’t ask, but he seems to like speaking to lay people.

If every word of the Bible is true why are there so many contradictions within it? Which creation is true? How did the story of the crucifixion and Resurrection turn out because there's four different versions. This is the inspired word of God you would think there would be a definitive single story. So God is definitely into slavery. If you've ever read your Bible you would know that. You would also know that Jesus predicted that the coming of the Kingdom he spoke of was then. As if this is happening very very soon in people of his time expected that. And we have older versions of the Bible where there's a female God as well so what about that? The reversions of those texts out there that are more complete than the versions we have today because parts were taken out. By the way I hope you're Jewish because Jesus was and the Bible and the God were for his people. There were many other gods around at the time everybody had theirs. What we call God today or Yahweh in the past wasn't even a major player back then. @@fjbfjb2618
1:49:49 This comparison he's doing is wrong in the context of "unique word forms". Its not "I ran, he ran" it would be like "ran away", "ran up to", "ran down from". Greek uses plenty of prefixes and suffixes, each verb with a different prefix, or suffix, is a unique word. Using something like ana-, apo-, kata-, epi-, ex-, meta-, etc. Ana(basis), Kata(basis). An(ode) Cath(ode). Up way, down way. Logos, Apologos, epilogos, prologos; those are unique word forms of that one root. Kipp doesn't know that because he doesn't understand Greek grammar.

The Essenes, the keepers and scribes of these scrolls, were anything but the state. They were the usurped temple priest descendents, uber conservative in their theology. Their usurpers, the pharisees and the sadducees, were state religionists, and Jesus went after them time and again.

My research leads me to believe the Dead Sea scrolls are copies , and new works, saved from the library of Alexandria. The scholars fled from Alexandria 900KM to the East with scrolls, after Caesar burnt the library in 48BC. And eventually settled near the Qumran caves where they continued their work and stored the text in the caves in about 2BC.
Your research is incomplete, perhaps biased? Caesar only partially and accidentally destroyed the Library of Alexandria. The “daughter library,”maintained by Pythagorean astronomer and mathematician Hypatia, was deliberately obliterated near the end of the fourth century and Hypatia was brutally killed by Christian mobs. These acts were ordered as punishment for “heresy” by Theophilus, the Bishop of the region, sanctioned by the tyrannical Emperor Theodosius, creator of the abominable Council of Nicaea.
The Library got burned a couple of time. What makes you think that this specific event caused them to flee? Also why they are not written in Greek since at that time Egypt was ruled by the Greeks?

Kipp might be a scholar but he's also a coward and an idiot so, that "scholar" credential is worth as much as any other idiots claims without evidence: 💩
So an hour in we finally get Kipp's reasons for not believing. Having read the Bible, he should know that everything he "learned " as an "expert " that "contradicts" the Bible IS IN the Bible. 1. Abraham came from Ur and moved to Canaan. He came from pagans 2. The Hebrews believed in other God's. They worshipped Baal, Molech, etc. Hence the Prophets being sent by God to rebuke them. 3. The extra Biblical Texts confirm much of the Bible, but from another's perspective. The demons' perspective. I would have liked to see Dr. Heiser correct this guy.
Thats exactly what I thought. The Bible constantly talks about the prophets fight with idol warship. And constantly warns against it. So to say that he thought that most people back then we're monotheistic boggles belief. Its obvious from the biblical text that most were not. And that's the unique aspect of the biblical narrative.
@ Spot on. The major difference between Scripture and the other writings of their time is authenticity. Scripture gives it like it was. No sugar coating anything. These guys that he’s interviewing couldn’t pass a Sunday School class. I’ve taught 3rd graders who were better versed in Scripture 🤭
He said Moses was not an actual person. The Israelites were not a special people out of Egypt but a Canaanite group that worshipped the gods of the region. This is due to the texts that predate the bible. Especially the jews of elephantine.
Greek philosophy is so different from the concepts of the Hebrew religion that Christians had to invent the Trinity based on Plato's 3 parts to the soul in order to reconcile Jewish thought for a Greek audience. It's unlikely that Greek culture would've produced a theology foreign to it's own understanding of the fundamental values that govern metaphysical epistemology.
Answer : they reject the truth when it isn't politically convenient, like the fact that 85% of Jews have no genetic connection to the supposed Israel whatsoever.
So the original story is that 72 scribes translated the Torah into the Septuigent, and they came out with the same divine translation. Obviously, fiction. What if we flip that story on its head and say that there was an attempt to translate the Septuigent into Hebrew by 72 scribes to see if they could establish a Hebrew source for a newly forming religion? Do we have any archeological evidence for that? Oh yeah, the DSS. Sometimes, a lie can tell you the truth.
Dang, thank you. I bought a Septuagint because best I could find that is what Jesus quoted from. Understanding that Hebrews, Israel, Jews don’t equate to Judaism is key. Your thought is enlightening.

There were also sorts of wrong translations (both accidental and purposeful) in the English translations of the texts and additions by the scribes. For instance, there are different descriptions of the 10 Commandments between the Torah and the Bible. For instance, one commandment isn't "Thou shall not kill," but instead, "Thou shall not murder." The distinction is important when talking about war, self-defense, capital punishment and abortion. Hi there! Such an interesting conversation!! I am studying Akkadian at the moment (Old Babylonian specifically) which is the oldest attested semitic language. Although the Akkadians adopted the Sumerian writing system of Cuneiform (along with many others in the region) Sumerian is a language isolate - it has no known relatives (which is not some shocking indication that these were some beings from an alternate dimension - we just have very few records of languages going this far back and we have language isolates in existence today too!) and apart from some minor word adoption here and there you won't find any Sumerian connection at all with the any branch of the semitic language family. I believe Sumerian is also an agglutinative language (not an expert here so don't quote me) whereas semitic languages are fusional. Very glad to see this distinction being called out! You absolutely cannot logically infer some special connection between Hebrew and Sumerian. It would be like saying French has connections to Inuit because Indo European Langauage speakers took over large swathes of their traditional land. It just ain't so!
@ sir. Sumerian is a language isolate. I am passionate about Mesopotamian languages (mostly Semitic) and have actually studied Sumerian (which is of course not Semitic given I just said it was an isolate). Whatever you are espousing is fantasy and that is fine for fun but what the heck are you doing trying to spread this nonsense to others? Where is your evidence? And please please please go read up on what constitutes evidence in linguistics. If we accept what you are saying without evidence we need to accept everything everyone says without evidence and everyone believes they are correct and I’m sure you have seen your fair share of absurd claims about Sumerian too. How is this different? It is absurd. The only way to have consensus is for everyone to put aside their own ideas and speculations and focus on what is known based on evidence. Maybe you are 100% right but we do not have evidence to support your claim and I and most of the rest of humanity will never ever ever ever ever believe you till you show your work, no matter how many TH-cam comments you make :) peace. 🖖 ✌🏻 ☮️

Yes, like using Daniel as evidence to show Hebrew/Aramaic priority. Daniel is a forgery written no earlier than 167 bc. It was written after the Septuigent was commissioned and then translated into Greek and added to the Septuigent. IE Daniel is evidence that they were forging documents in Hebrew/Aramaic and passing them off as holy text. The irony is that Kipp uses this fact against apologists himself in several videos, yet here deceptively tries to use it as an apologist for Hebrew priority.
I agree we can experience things that seem very real. I will however say that in the early 1990s I was travelling in my car and said to God " I feel like I can't get near you. At that moment my radio that was playing jumped stations to a program that said " if you want to get close to God sing songs of worship". I knew this was supernatural. I was completely sober and drug free. I also had a dream in 1993 about the year 2000 and the Olympics in Australia. It was then that I was led to a church and became born again. Up until then I was involved in New Age and other things looking for the truth.
1:49:06 what Dr. Kipp isn’t acknowledging is the parallels of Greek mythology which far predate these Hebrew manuscripts I personally find that fact actually striking the similarities between these seemingly independent cultures and myths

Holy Blood Holy Grail has zero to do with the Protocols of Zion. He got that wrong. He means the Priory of Zion, the supposed secretive founding organisation behind the Templars.
I have to disagree with the guest on the point that just reading say the book of Judges, it is obvious that no one has any idea how to distinguish their religion from that of the Canaanites -- because it is the religion of the Canaanites. There is even one judge who engages in sacrifice of his own daughter after a victory. So even the Bible does not assert there was any widespread assumption of monotheism as the true religion for quite some time. In fact even from the Bible it can be argued that the eventual religion advocated is a relatively late construct.

It's too late to figure it all out and people who know mostly forbid themselves from telling because it hurts like a MF. Regarding translating simple language with two words into more complex language using one word, here is an example from English when grappling with a new invention. We started with "horseless carriage" and that became "car" over time. English today is much more complex that it was even 100 years ago because we have so many more concepts to express now. This comparison he's doing is wrong in the context of "unique word forms".

The distinction is important when talking about war, self-defense, capital punishment and abortion. A recent (1940s) purposeful translation error talks about homosexuals which wasn't the translation before that. There was also additions. Job never really got his happy ending in earlier script and Mary fled the tomb of Jesus never to be mentioned again in earlier script.

@@codymoran7815 To be fair (and I can't recall coming across this Kipp person before, so I have no axe to grind here), he does say he's not expert on the inspirations for Dan Brown's silly novels. That was confirmed for me when he said the _Protocols of the Elders of Zion_ had a mediaeval source. Antisemitism certainly does have deep historical roots, but it's indisputable that the Protocols were written by Russian Orthodox antisemite imperialists around 1900.
They're connected in that they're both completely fictitious

Funny how most Christian biblical scholars have left the church.
Biblical scholars who don't speak ancient languages and rely on translation? Mauro Biligno is what actual biblical scholars should be. Biligno explains why relying on translation causes is not good.

That's actually not true. Most critical Bible scholars are Protestant, typically from Evangelical backgrounds.

For real. And every now and then religious fanatics and fundamentalists that think Moses wrote Genesis 1.400 BC. I think Kipp should stick to scholarship, he doesn't have the rhetoric and the people skills to get out into the shark sea of internet media
When someone qualifies themselves by saying they do not know a lot about the topic, why should I or anyone else believe their assumptions of the word of God? The same scriptures were taught to all of them, but it did not profit everyone because they did not read the word with faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. It does not require faith to believe in something you can see, touch, or taste.
Move beyond faith into the knowing. This is where the true relationship with God begins.

The Annunaki language known as the Anak'h is where the sumerians got their language from

I take it this guy never read the holy blood book? Protcols of zion? Priory of zion sweetie. And that was based on another researcher, Henry Lincoln, who went there in the 60s. I mean read the book before talking about it perhaps? The history of that area is amazing...
Yeah, that would have been a very different, kind of troubling book.
Just like every other topic he brings forward, he simultaneously guarantees the validity of his expert opinion while deflecting any further questioning by saying something like "well I can't remember exactly" or "well that's not really my area of expertise but I've seen damning evidence from other scholars."
And he doesn't even know what vellum is! What kind of expert wouldn't know a basic fact like that?

Dan Brow writes fiction. The Davinci Code and Holy Blood have characters in common but they are not based on each other in any way. Both are by Dan Brown. Both are fiction. Nobody thinks they are real.

Kipp argued more effectively as an apologist 🤠
Up until then I was involved in New Age and other things looking for the truth.
this dude sets my detector off.. just sayin'
1:49:06 what Dr. Kipp isn’t acknowledging is the parallels of Greek mythology which far predate these Hebrew manuscripts

That's what Biblical "scholars" do. They have a bias towards propping up their religious ideology.
That's what biblical scholars do, they historisize a fable.
What did the carbon dating do?
I have to disagree with the guest on the point that just reading say the book of Judges, it is obvious that no one has any idea how to distinguish their religion from that of the Canaanites -- because it is the religion of the Canaanites. There is even one judge who engages in sacrifice of his own daughter after a victory. So even the Bible does not assert there was any widespread assumption of monotheism as the true religion for quite some time. In fact even from the Bible it can be argued that the eventual religion advocated is a relatively late construct.
Never trust anyone named "Kipp"
Priory of Sion has nothing to do with Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
