- Over the last few locals runs, we managed to get back to back 2nd place finishes, against some very capable opponents.
Still need a lot of work to do to get over that x-1 hump and begin getting 1st place finishes.
In this video we will be going over how i would play out a few combos with our Dark Magician deck.

Dream support is a proper fusion card similar to to branded fusion that allows us to special out any of our Dm extra deck cards straight to field, without any bricks or locking us out of any other summons that turn

Or fusion deployment cartesia and fusion summon dark magicians and use top share and draw the card. Dark hex fusion to dark magicians.
Eye of Timaeus lol. Konami won't want to give DM better than that for a fusion card. No money
I’d be happy with one like chimera that makes anything it fuses named dark magician even if you have to sacrifice “from the deck”
I think dream support would be something that doesn’t change the identity of DM. POWERFUL SPELLS to complement the already powerful fusion boss monsters that we already have. No more boss monsters are needed IMO, just powerful spells.

Dream support:
1) a one card starter for the core of DM, Circle and Soul
2) a proper fusion card OR a way to continue your combo after summoning a DM boss monster
3) A modern DM boss. The best DM boss monster should not be a Red-Eyes card. Dark Sage retrain anyone?
4) Non-brick cards that work with Soul Servant OR a card that allows the Palladiums to be used genuinely.
You can exclude me from the contest. I’ve been playing DM since 2016 so I have the cards 😊. Would rather them go to someone who doesn’t have them.
Dream support would be a "maiden" (like what blue eyes has) that searches every card that mentions dm, specials from hand/gy and she can substitute any monster needed for the fusion summon of a dm extra deck monster. She should be able to search a dm new fusion that fuse from deck if you use it to summon a fusion that requires dm/dmg or that has it on its text.
Dream support is honestly just:
- A fusion spell that allows you to use additional DM monsters/"Chaos" Spellcasters/Dark Magician itself from the hand, field or deck as substitutes for fusions that require Dark Magician and give the resulting summon the name Dark Magician on field (and in graveyard if we're allowed to be extra spicy)
- A Link-1 with a "Palladium" name to take advantage of Soul Servant's drawing mechanics after use.
- Some kind of Magician of Black Chaos retrain (Link?) solely because this is the dude I want to play within this archetype most lol and Master Duel has issues with card art preventing Chaos Max from being added
But generally, if the support can just facilitate new interesting means of play and interaction moving away from Eternal Soul + Circle or de-emphasizing it as the "only" goal of the deck in its purest form, that would be so cool to see.

If this card is Link Summoned: You can Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that mentions "Dark Magician" or "Dark Magician Girl" as material from your Extra Deck, using 2 monsters from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Material. You cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Dark Magician", "Dark Magician Girl", and monsters than mention "Dark Magician" or "Dark Magician Girl", the turn you activate this effect. During the turn this card was Link Summoned: You can Set 1 "Eternal Soul", "Soul Servant", "Piercing the Darkness", or "The Eye of Timaeus" directly from your Deck. The card Set by this effect can be activated this turn. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 of your banished "Dark Magician" monsters; Shuffle it into the Deck. You can only use each effect of "Palladium Oracle Seto" once per turn.
Best DM support would either be a better fusion spell (ideally fuses from deck) or a link 1 monster with some kind of special summon/search effect and has a palladium name.
My dream Dark Magician support is an new Normal Summon Monster that allows a 1 card combo, just like Blue-Eyes has.
Dream support would be something that makes using the Rituals a lot more worth it and streamlined and making more of the Fusions more functional. So basically a new Ritual spell card that identifies as Chaos Form everywhere and a fuse from deck spell
There’s a million things I could think that would be great support for DM like a DM fusion spell, more DM fusion monsters or even DM xyz/synchro/links just to give the archetype a little diversity than just fusions but one crazy thing id like to see is Konami errata The Eye of Timaeus to where you can add it with Magicians Rod or off Dark Magical Circle or stack it with Soul Servant. I think that’d be great but also hilarious.
Dream support is a way to consistently set up and search multiple copies of magician's combination having multiple Omnis and next turn being able to go into fusion like dragoons and dark magicians
A dark magician link would be sweet
My dream dark magician support is a link 1 that links dark magician from the hand, put a dark magician card on the top of the deck (or eye-of-timaeus) and you can discard up to two dark magician monsters and draw a equal number of cards. This card also identifies as dark magician on the field
Dream support would have to be a fusion spell like "red eyes fusion", a link 1 that has an effect we could use so that way we can link rod into something that gives us more plays, and next one might be cope, but a better version of circle and eternal soul
That DM deck looks so strong to be honest! I will love to see a link card for DM because normally we use Artemis, but she don't do that much for us. Maybe the card can search something like a magic/traps and return one. I don't really know but anything at this points seems good.
this is a fun build and the new toy support allows DM to do more! DM NEEDS a fusion spell card like red- eyes fusion thats searchable and does not restrict DM, better search card ( circle is god awful does not even add monsters that mention DM)! the new blue -eyes structure deck what little we have seen of it is a perfect example of what kind of cards DM needs.
The DM support I would like to see would be a few cards that would really maximize our fusion power as a deck. A proper fusion spell and a fusion monster that extends similar to branded fusion and lubellion that helps us summon dragoon and supplement further bodies on the field. Finally I think we need one more low level monster that could really help us kickstart a one card combo much like souls or rod but much better. The list goes on!
Honestly the Toy box/Toys was an interesting tech. I like the build.

S:P Little Knight and Dragoons is a pretty cracked board admittedly, and not having linear plays specifically is pretty shiny. Wonder if there's a way to mitigate those Handtraps a bit more...
Since blue eyes is getting more synchro support, I would like effective xyz support to go with the ebons. I liked that they were experimenting with more then just fusions.
Some kind of contact fusion boss monster requiring dark magician would stay true to the theme I think :)

Dream support would be bridging the gap for DM and Illusion monsters. Not only are they Yugi-inspired cards, but it makes sense that magicians create illusions to beat the opponent

I think a great support would be a better quick fusion spell that would allow to fusion with opponent monsters that would allows us to play some others dark fusion monsters. And similar to chimera fusion, the possibility to bring it back to hand if dm is an field ou GY !

First of all, you are my favorite DM content creator and I love your drive to take the archetype to competitive environments and to push its limits.
Dream support for me is very general...just something that doesn't require the deck to rely on external engines just to function. I think the deck needs a solid, modern foundation on its own that can be supplemented with other engines to further enhance the deck's power.
More fusion support would be nice, too!

I started with dark magician and branched out from there, I am now torn between whitewoods and now DM and going back to the roots as my main deck this format, since its tier 0 and I just want some fun. For support, I'd like something that let's us grab/resummon banished monsters so I can play DMoC, or cards that make us banish and use our banish pile in some way. Or a branded in red type quickplay that requires using banished magicians for fusions/plays in general.
I have been binging the past few videos of yours and I must say that the deck is shaping up nicely! I have a Dark Magician player at my locals and he has started playing a similar build. Before he used to play a pure Dark Magician deck I'm pretty sure, but it's great to see that Yugi's iconic monster is becoming a viable rogue deck. This deck seems to be weak to Shifter, Nibiru and Droll. Have you considered running 3 Crossouts + these targets in your side deck? Awesome video!
A link monster. Maybe one that is able too fusion summon by shuffling the requiert materiels from the grave and field in to the deck.
A proper fusion spell for DM would be great, like REF but more like branded fusion.
Any link 1 support would also help but idk what effects they should have

Great video Matchie! I keep making a DM deck then when I get to locals I have a hard time wanting to play it. Knowing that a single Handtrap can take me out, and sure I might get the odd win. But, it’s still too slow. I really want to play DM again 💪🏽🧙🏽♂️

Yeah, I go into every match knowing I’m at a disadvantage, but what makes yugioh fun for me, is finding different ways to make my favourite deck viable.
Of course winning is great, but I find the beauty in yugioh when I can make dark magician do things that normally would be impossible

My dream dm support would be something that would make eternal souls actually playable, having the constant free body feels so good but is so slow.

I think a field spell, that acts as a searcher for dark magician cards, maybe like dragon ravine," destroy a spell in hand or on the field, add a dark magician card or a card that mentions it, from deck to had" maybe a secondary effect that once per turn prevents a spell of yours from being negated
1st thing I’ll say is thank you for always bringing great new ways or avenues to play DM , i’ve been in love with that card or archetype since i first ever watched Duel Monsters , as far as support for the archetype I’d say wishful thinking i guess , a series of extra monsters and main deck that would work in a similar way as tearlaments. I hope you’re score to keep bringing this amazing content that we love … i have not had the chance to take a look at this latest set released by Konami but have you thought of experimenting with fiendsmiths??

I have experimented a bit with fiendsmith, it’s good, but it just feels like “do fiendsmith first then do dm stuff” and the 2 don’t have too much synergy IMO
My dream DM support is literally anything that makes Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl competitively viable. They should complement each other, not branch off into their own playstyles :(
Dream support for dark magician is a boss monster or just a spell that place DMCircle and or Eternal soul (i dream of a version like True light that dont nuke the field but for DM too) like a 1 card combo that summon a monster + activate circle and/or Eternal soul directly from the deck

Magician soul sending pharaonic advent from deck to grave. Summon gadget trio and search turn silence. Activate toy box and set soldier and tank. Use magician soul and send tank and soldier to grave to draw 2 cards and special summon both. If they try to negate magician soul, you can negate it with turn silence while changing magicians soul level to 4. Xyz summon dugares using magicians soul and gadget trio. Link summon silhoehatte rabbit and set apophis. Activate primordial imperialode, fusion deployment or set succesor soul to summon DM now or next turn. Activate dugares and special summon pharaonic advent then tribute dugares to search tyrant throes. Then opponents turn activate apophis and tyrant throes to lock them in summoning non normal monsters.
So much gas, dayum. Toy Box is so good!

Dream support is a new engine that mixes well with old. Both main deck and extra deck cards that revolve around vanilla dm and can use shining sarc as a tie between.
Search and special or search and fuse. Don’t over balance it like they always do…

As for perfect support, I'm gonna go for the unoriginal searchable eye of timaeus, but with a twist.
Name: Degenerate Eye of Timaeus
Effect: Destroy 1 Dark Magician monster on your side of the field, then fusion summon or ritual summon any Ritual or Fusion monster that mentions "Dark Magician" or "Dark Magician Girl" in its materials or effect from your Hand, Deck, Graveyard, extra deck, banished zone or the nearest binder.
Mentions DM by name, so it's searchable. Fusion or Ritual summons, so it's a better version of timmy and secrets. Destroying the targeted monster facilitates MOC|The Dark Magicians|Dark Magician the Magician of Black Magic|etc. shenanigans and it's still a brick by itself in the hand so it's Konami levels of realistic.
If I win the giveaway, launch the cards into space with the newest edition of the rulebook.

One thing is I’ve been holding off on buying the three Wanted’s only because I feel like they might get hit on the banlist soon. I still think witch can and doom can still be utilized but not sure if you may have thought of alternatives in case wanted does get hit?

We need a version of predaplant verte anaconda but for DM, instead of being generic. We need ways to fusion but also link but not wasting a lot of resources because DM has that issue of wasting resources and any interruption can hurt you and it can make you slower to recover those resources

Have you thought about the horus engine instead of diabelstar? gives you bodies, helps with grindgame and can out bossmonsters. also if you want to it helps with secret village (imsety is a spellcaster)

You have to try this! A DM deck without dm well technically dragon knight is your dm here. You can reuse Armageddon twice with toy tank and send zephyros and plague spreader zombie.. you can even use muddy dragon twice!! To summon two magia using cartesia and timaeus.

You can maximize hex seal for dark fusion targets like dark magicians for draw.
Gaia prominence, magnum reliever, yubel- the loving(if you went super poly route vs yubel decks)
If synchro route:
formula synchron -for extra draw
Herald arc light- negate and can xyz to dugares or linked to get an illusion of chaos in hand.
Centaur-ion auxilla you can use heavy storm and acts like dragon knight
Xyz- armageddon knight:dugares is your magician soul draw and sending cards + summoning
Pharaonic to get summon limit or my other deck tyrant throes lock goes well with it.
Ip and verte can get you appolousa and formula synchron+ pharaonic advent next turn will give you barrone.
Effect veiler over impermanence coz it fits better and can help you synchro into formula synchron or arc light to get your illusion of chaos.
Spell card monster reborn is an interuption plus an extender. You can recycle substitute cards, tuner, and xyz tandem and link targets. It helps you reuse muddy dragon, formula synchron, and most importantly revive effect veiler for another synchro. Magician soul plus effect veiler is formula synchron. Use spellcard mr veiler on magicians rod to summon arc light. You can use arc light to zyx summon dugares or muddy and once you synchro it you can get illusion of chaos which you can search timeus dragon to fusion magia.
Its not yet on competitive level but a better than the old regular dm decks imo. Maybe remove hex sealed, fusion deployment to make room for hand traps and some shit 😂. Maybe add diabelstar
There is a combo using Armageddon knight sending black metal dragon to gy then summon it using toy tank. Then link to something to send it to gy. Then grab red eyes fusion to summon dragoon. Maybe next turn tho 😂
Summoner monk makes it more consistent to get toy soldier (toy box) or armageddon knight .
I tried adding islode but i think i have to go 60 cards with that 😂 but you can search toybox with phantom knight islode and the max amount if times i was able to resummon Armageddon knight was 5x using toy tank, shadows light, ancient fairy, dugares, monster reborn. And i was able to send plague, zephyros, destrudo.. its seems you can reuse muddy dragon, synchron formula, cartesia too.. sacred crane i was able to draw multiple times lol..
kinda improved some combos in the deck. I removed the hex and replaced it with king of the swamp. Coz the swamp is more versatile depending what you have in hand. I added isolde. So 2 warriors is easy to summon anyways because of toybox and armageddon knight. Armageddon can send phantom knights ancient cloak then you can add shade brigandine to hand and summon it. So islode can search a warrior black luster soldier the legendary swordman to hand(yes you cant activate it but you can fusion with it). Then you can send equip spells to graveyard to summon another warrior. 4 equip spells can special summon toy soldier but we are opting to summon amazoness spiritualist. This card adds polymerization to your hand. If you tried this deck you know that a substitute is so easy to search or create because of muddy dragon, or toy soldier searching goddess with third eye, or summoning substitute card from graveyard. Being a level 2 makes it good for synchro summoning herald arc light. You can add renaud to retrieve any equip spells like snatch steal. You can steal opponents every turn because of toy tank resummoning renaud and using opponents monster for link or synchro. Phantom knight and brigandine can help you in executing tyrant throes lock. If i feel like i dont have the resources to execute tyrant throes lock i search summon limit.. i always have magia every turn and appolousa plus summon limit. And the deck can even get through nibiru if you can summon magia before droping the 5th summon. Im trying to improve going second.
my dream support would be more palladium spells/ monsters, maybe even a cheeky link 1/2 that can set secrets of dark magic or another palladium card
For me my personal dream support for dark magician to modernize it and keep the theme of it, I believe We have enougj spells maybe newd some more traps and DEFINETELY good enough of boss monsters, Id say maybe a combo starter such as a dark magician Link monster :o maybe a link 1 or 2 but it will f8t the playstyle for dm of course. that would be pretty cool :i

Main changes I can see but you have probably already thought about them is I would switch the called by with crossout maybe drop one ash? Or something so it can be at 2 reason being since you have so many engines going on that apart from fiendsmith are very relevant in the meta as well as the hand traps you’re running so I feel crossout really has more value for this particular build.
Now idk what I would drop to make room for duality but seeing you go into granguinol a lot more often in this build or so it seems lol I feel such a card being able to bring dragoon out for free it’s too good to pass on and if they somehow out dragoon it gives follow up by putting him back into extra for re summon while drawing a card, other than that I can’t think of anything I’d change other than dream support.
I wonder how a version with Magia would work...
DM needs a support modeled similar to the new Maiden of White that would allow you to play Eternal Soul from Hand/Deck/GY face up. Or an updated Eternal Soul? I miss the spell-casting magic flavor of DM
My dream support is more than a support is konami decides if dark magician is a fusion, xyz or a deck that dont go often to the extra, but if i had to pick i would chose a retrained version of dm that could replace our bricks: normal dm
I think a tuner / syncro summon support could be cool
I'd really like retrains of the cards we already have so that theyre playable. for example mana, mahad and DMG not just being bricks/garnets heck I'd even like or boy rod to get an upgrade or a DM link to go into instead of Artemis

As for new support, I would love something that helps us float better in archtype. Feels like the deck has always wanted us to be constantly floating out DM and all of our support revolves around that yet like 2 cards actually facilitate it.

Have you considered adding Fiendsmith into your deck? It's a guarantee spellcasters secret forest and costs very little in both the ED and MD.

So some questions I am a new DM player looking to build the deck but I was curious is this the same build as your live stream build because in that video quem wasn’t in it and also instead of playing Cartesian was there a thought of playing the chimera/nightmare apprentice engine because it wasn’t mentioned in your live stream and finally are you going to do another live stream playtesting sessions I really found it informative and awesome
I want a better fusion card. Needs to be better than branded fusion. Needs to be able to use materials from graveyard or banish itself like cornfield coatle or mirror swordnight to give protection.
Honestly a DM Link or an actually good fusion spell to let us get into dragoon easier
