Thank you Fr, for this reading. After Part 2, please continue to do readings of the Lives of our God-bearers, especially our recent ones. What a gift they are! What examples! In every age, including ours, until the Lord returns in glory to judge the living and the dead and to rule His Kingdom without end. Thanks be to God for His great mercy to us.
Thank you for the reading Fr. Paul. Sharing the lives of the great monastics and Saints for those who may not be able to afford to build up an arsenal of books is such a blessing! It is also a great blessing to be able to listen in the car or while working. You are yourself a great inspiration as well- leading me and so many others to find Christ and His Holy Church. Even with all you do in service of Christ, His Church, your family, and everything else; you still make the time to bless us with new videos that uplift and inspire us not only as Christians, but human beings all together. Thank you.
Thankyou Father what a blessing can not wait to buy the book This is why satan hated the old books of lives of saints in mount Athos.. Because when a young monks read them they become strong spritualy. Love from Eritrean orthodox tewahdo.
I am a (Swedish) protestant but I love to hear about the lives of the Saints, it´s so inspiring. Thank you for the reading, looking forward to pt. 2. God bless you and everyone here.
Ye you love it but you don't wanna do anything even fast or do the liturgy or do eucharist.. protestantism / evangelism cost me 7 years that I wasted unbaptized believing in being saved and continuing w sin .
@@chemone8636 Syster! Tyvärr inte måste jag säga. Fortsätt lyssna på material som detta som kmr du förstå. Jag var själv protestant men ack så fel jag hade.
A very beautiful reading! I could only think of how easy my life has been compared to hers and yet I remain a sinner Lord Jesus Christ please have mercy on me, a sinner ☦ Thank you very much Fr. Paul, I'm looking forward to the next part
Elder Makrina has a very special place in my heart for discovering St. Efraim. I wish I'll be able to visit his (and hers) monastery soon. Thank you father. Please pray for Alexander and Irene.
Interesting. This particular book is not too available for me. But among sources about Joseph the Hesychast there is a book about her life and I'd try to read it.
+frpaul What does the Orthodox Church's believe about the end times and last days? In Protestantism there are three views: premillenialism, postmillenialism, and amillenialism. Which is the closest to the EO or is it different altogether?
Do you ever just open the Bible and read it to the people??? I am so astonished by all the sainthood teaching. I shed tears when I read scripture but not early church history or saints.
The Holy Scriptures are readily available to almost everything. The lives of Saints maybe not so much or most people don't know where to start. But I assure you that Orthodox people are well versed in the Holy Scriptures.
Ive been noticing that he only talks about books.. lifes of others.. but never teaches from scripture.. orthodox christians never mention jesus as much as other things

@@slavplaysgames I think Fr. Paul is a great priest and I gladly listen to him even though I am a protestant (and a happy one). God bless!

Thank you Father! If you haven’t yet, read also the life of Gerontisa Galakteia of Crete.
Thank you! If you could, shoot me an email at frpaul@sppoc.org. I have a neat story about her I’d like to share with you!
@frpaul Are you able to post this story? I've known about Gerondissa Galaktia for a while but most content about her is in Greek. Thank you

Looking at the picture, I see pagan Roman God masquerading as saints.

@@BVSGV626 The Lives of the Saints are the living interpretation of the Gospels.
I understand but many people lately have been pulling away from the holy bible.. old and new testament teachings.. jesus is lord
One Orthodox monk does more Jesus Prayers than the entire protestant invalid church.
@BVSGV626 if you only go to one service in an Orthodox Church.. if you only would..
You are lost
