If they run through the sketchbooks and you don’t care much about the quality of the paper, you can make drawing books from printer paper and take it to an office supply store to have it bound for just a few dollars. Or just hole punch the paper in place in a 3 ring binder.

We homeschool too. Instead of getting new school clothes, we just a first day of school outfit. Usually just a tee and inexpensive jeggings or pants from walmart.
Also the crayons that have the colors for skin tones are difficult to find as well and are cheaper and available at back to school time. I have teachers in my family that teach in city schools w many ethnicities and I also try and get lots of them and many boxes of crayons and glue sticks for the stock in the kindergartens and first grade room. It is nice when they color a family portraits colors that match their skin tones. Those crayon boxes at back to school prices are 3-4 x regular crayon colors. I always suggest to people if the start each time they go to target Or Walmart pick up extras of things to have for the teacher closet because lots of families have difficult times and need money for food. The St. Louis public school has started just giving the students clear backpacks w all supplies for free in the beginning of the year of basics.

As a former first grade teacher I can attest that Ticonderoga pencils are the best. They sharpen well and the graphite does not break and fall out. It is pronounced Ty-con-der-o-ga, like the fort. I also love those primary journals for creative writing. Good choice!
I LOVE that you corrected your own grammar on-screen! 😂 As a retired teacher listening to "influencers" use incorrect grammar is really hard to listen to. The problem with the pencil sharpener is probably the pencil, not the sharpener. Many of the inexpensive pencil brands will have the lead off center, so it sharpens irregularly, or the pencils are not all wood, but more like particle board with glue, which makes them very hard. I always requested American made pencils that were all wood for my classroom. Ticonderoga is a good brand.

We used to stock up on notebooks when school supplies were out. I remember paying .20 each 😁. I have a messy house too because I babysit. And I have things setting on the table. My sewing machine is on it right now. Stay at home and homeschooling Moms know what a messy house looks like 😊it’s okay! Y’all are doing a great job!

I make my own dishwasher detergent, 1 C salt 1 C Washing Soda 1C Baking Soda 1/4 C Citric Acid =1Tablespoon per wash I would suggest making 5 x the amount and storing it. I also use Homemade Dryer Sheets Add small clothes to 1/2 gallon jar ( I use baby wash clothes but you can use old towels cut into squares, flannel clothes cut up ) 1 1/2 cups Distilled Water 2 cups white vinegar 20-40 drops essential oil ( I like orange and lemon grass) mix well pour slowly over clothes in jar ( stuff full) store with airtight lid. Ticonderoga pencils are the best. When my oldest was in school she’d come home and tell me she needed another pencil. Her teacher always kept hers when doing correction. I finally took the teacher a bouquet of them. They carry chunky ones too for early writers.
Those pencils are the BEST!!!! I found them on clearance for 75 cents last year. I bought all they had😂😂😂 There's no such as thing as "too many" when you homeschool.
Love this haul! School supplies are my love language! Sam’s Club has a pk of 96 Ticonderoga pencils for less than $12! They also have big pks of mechanical pencils and big pks of black sharpies as well. Look now, there are great mark downs on the school supplies there!!!
Oh also when things go on clearance I always picked up next years book bags too or if current one would break or lost I have extra. FYI people are catching on to using my paper boats at sams for paper plates so they are sometimes out. May try and keep yourself a stash of those.
"private tutor" comment is great. I always say kids you have a very expensive teacher (40,000 dollar) for free all to yourself. My pep talk when they think it's just boring mom teaching.
I use to make body balm whip. It was light and airy like a soufflé. Used coconut oil, raw mango butter or Shea butter and essential oils. It was super hydrating.
The Action Bible is so fun!! We actually use it for our Bible every morning starting our Homeschool day! We use it as a starting point to get into deeper conversations.
My boys love drawing so I switched them to sketch books too. No more paper everywhere and no more constantly trying to find room to hang up art 😂 they keep all their art in the books and we call them memory books. So they can go back and look at past work
That sketch pad idea is such a good idea! My kids love to draw and I am always collecting all the papers they’ve colored on and putting them in a pile lol. I’m getting sketch pads
I have 3 kids. My youngest is 9 and loves Art. Loves to draw,paint,and coloring. I have a art cart and all her stuff is on there. But my house does get messy with her stuff. 😂

We started school on 8/2 here in my area of Georgia, but walking past a display in Target, yesterday... They had one subject notebooks on sale for .64 - definitely check them out online and maybe do curbside... Target also has glue stick 2-packs for .25...

I buy extra school supplies when they go on sale after the public schools start for the next yr. Also Amazon has sales for school supplies. I also get stuff from dollar tree and Aldi

I can confirm that even with just 2 kids in the house, it does get messy especially when one of them draws a lot lol. Also you was lucky to get all those supplies. My local Walmart was wiped the last week before school. Probably because it's the only Walmart in a 50 mile radius lol
Try using the small bathroom paper of plastic cups fill with juice or whatever you want to make your Popsicles with, put in a popsicle stick and freeze and when frozen put them in a freezer bag.

I wanted to mention, Amazon sells little zip lock bags that look just like store bought popsicles that you buy and mentioned that you’d like to stop buying! We love them! Plus we seem to have bad luck buying water Mellon, not bad ones but not our favourite texture to eat it so I blend the whole thing and put them into the little zip lock popsicle molds. The kids just love them and so does the teething baby 😅 Easy, cheep and look exactly like the store ones.

We sit around 150 per kiddo and 225 per adult. We eat very high protein (170g for me and 200 for my spouse) so it drives our cost up. There are plenty of places i could cut cost if i used less convenience items but it’s worth my energy for the money. We really love real good chicken as a fast option and the price tag will put you off but it works for us.
I homeschool as well my four kids but I need a lot of supplies for my business plus I made educational materials. I order a case from the dollar tree every year even though we have stuff left over I still just order cases of school supplies from the dollar tree.

We love love loooovee the action bible. My oldest started off as a hesitant reader so we started using graphic novels. I knew the action bible was a hit when in church we would begin talking about scripture and my son would say, “Hey I know this story”. It is a must in this house.
7:55 fun tip, we ALWAY buy a pack of the gold, silver, and bronze sharpies so we can write on the black, navy blue, blue, purple, etc. folders and binders because they show up so much better than the black, plus, they look pretty and shiny! The silver looks super good on all the dark items!
My hubby was a General Contractor so I would always pick up all the office supplies we needed for the year. when the school supplies were on sale. Do you do that for your Church offices for the year? Every thing that has Organic on it is smaller and higher priced.
We did the Omaha Zoo in spring 2022 when we were in Lincoln for a wedding! Oh my that zoo is amazing! My girls keep.talking about how.we need to.go back. The baby elephants were adorable and the bat cave was amazing! The gorilla pounded on the glass and made us all jump! Lol! I agree with the Disney exhaustion! My feet were killing me! My kids always say the jellyfish were their favorite.
Happy birthday Micah. I'm one of eight children and we always had a bigger haul than that for school supplies. We went to public school though who tells you what you need. I know some things were not necessary but you had to buy them anyway. That was awhile ago as I am out of school now.

I'm not sure if will read this but here in England, we have a juice called dilute where a 1 litre bottle of pop/juice can make up 2 70 cups of watered down juice and its natural flavours the brands are Robinsons, vimto and ribena just read instructions if you get it because if you don't water it down its really strong 😊🇬🇧

Coconut oil works as a lotion also, right after shower or bath when wet. Then pat dry.

I homeschool as well my four kids but I need a lot of supplies for my business plus I made educational materials. I order a case from the dollar tree every year even though we have stuff left over I still just order cases of school supplies from the dollar tree.

We love love loooovee the action bible. My oldest started off as a hesitant reader so we started using graphic novels. I knew the action bible was a hit when in church we would begin talking about scripture and my son would say, “Hey I know this story”. It is a must in this house.

7:55 fun tip, we ALWAY buy a pack of the gold, silver, and bronze sharpies so we can write on the black, navy blue, blue, purple, etc. folders and binders because they show up so much better than the black, plus, they look pretty and shiny! The silver looks super good on all the dark items!
My hubby was a General Contractor so I would always pick up all the office supplies we needed for the year. when the school supplies were on sale. Do you do that for your Church offices for the year? Every thing that has Organic on it is smaller and higher priced.
Mid September once everyone is back they will be even “ cents “ cheap on clearance! Give a check then too

We did the Omaha Zoo in spring 2022 when we were in Lincoln for a wedding! Oh my that zoo is amazing! My girls keep.talking about how.we need to.go back.
The baby elephants were adorable and the bat cave was amazing! The gorilla pounded on the glass and made us all jump! Lol!

Happy birthday Micah. I'm one of eight children and we always had a bigger haul than that for school supplies. We went to public school though who tells you what you need. I know some things were not necessary but you had to buy them anyway. That was awhile ago as I am out of school now.
I only home educated one of my four children, but I used to LOVE resource/supply shopping trips! He's in college now, but I still miss it! Xx

I'm not sure if will read this but here in England, we have a juice called dilute where a 1 litre bottle of pop/juice can make up 2 70 cups of watered down juice and its natural flavours the brands are Robinsons, vimto and ribena just read instructions if you get it because if you don't water it down its really strong 😊🇬🇧

Staples and Kroger have good prices on school supplies.
We get our the store brand of kids chewable Benadryl from Walmart or Walgreens/CVS. The latter two sometimes have buy one get one deals when I stock up on kids meds
Sarah bath bombs are not difficult to make. Would be a fun art/craft project for your children. Plus making their own. Extra special.
