- Video series on the unboxing, setup and software of Lexmark's X364dn B/W Laser MFP. This product retails for around $500 and is basically the entry point for a printer that is worthy for use in an office, workgroup or enterprise. While you can get cheaper MFPs, their feature sets and manageability capabilities limits them for use in small or home offices only.
What about color? The X364dn scans in color but the 35-ppm monochrome print engine is speedy. Yes, you can get color MFPs for less, but again their print speeds, media capacity and manageability features limit their usefulness for offices and enterprises. If you need speed and the image permanence provided by toner-based printing, this B/W MFP will deliver the goods.

Part II - Software and network installation. It becomes interesting here as the installer neglects to plug the Ethernet cable all the way in before installing the software. Watch as he attempts to dig himself out of the grave that he dug for himself.

Thanks for the tips! Networking should be easy since it is wired. Plug in a CAT5 network cable and turn the machine on and off. DHCP should then assign it an IP address. Then use the installed IP setup utility to connect your scan and print software to the IP address.

We know the production quality could be better but we record these videos to document our Hands-On Test Report procedures and quickly produce them as a sideline. If we make them anyway, why let them go to waste?

Thanks for the video. Bought the same printer today, made the mistake of not using the installation CD and relying on the windows 7 Setup. Big mistake! Word of caution. If you want to Duplex scan you have to use the Scan Centre software on the disk you can't duplex scan straight from the printer. I also downloaded the firmware update. Now I just need to work out how I network this thing! BTW at the equivalent of $300 with Next day delivery I think it's a bargain!

Reliability and misfeeding should not be a problem and no better or worse than most competitive toner-based MFPs. Of course, inkjet MFPs/AiOs are simpler, more reliable and slower.

1 to 2 is duplex printing and there is no 2 to 2 copying and scanning.

5. Press the arrow buttons until Sides (Duplex) appears, and then press √.
6. Press the arrow buttons until 2 sided appears, and then press √.
7. Press Back to return to Ready.
