Hi Laura. Were you able to resolve your question? I recommend using the Legal paper in the MP feeder, and the Letter paper in the cassette. Save the document as a PDF, and print from the PDF reader. Adobe Reader gives you the option to "Choose paper source by PDF page size", which will automatically select the correct size paper for that particular page. I hope this helps!
