A truly confident man has no need of others approval, he simply accepts himself and works toward realistic solutions to his problems that don't rely on dominating others. That kind of behavior just makes it clear how little a man thinks of himself. I've been told I have pretty feminine qualities such as being very compassionate toward loved ones, and genuinely caring for people in worse situations than myself, but I couldn't care less. I don't need to be seen as masculine or feminine, I don't need some perceived position in social hierarchy, I do just fine without my ego being stroked all the time.
