Listen, the Bionicle community is still somehow going strong despite the original run ending back in 09. I'm sure there are other fandoms out there still keeping the passion up for deceased franchises/stories. I could completely see the halo community keeping it alive through mods, animations, stop motion, comics, short stories, and whatever else they can manage.

Infinite was the only one even trying to be halo, and it was mismanaged to the point that you couldn't even replay missions. But the old games still exist, you can go and play ce, 2, 3 and reach without having to fork over cash for the next macrotransaction from small indie company 343i Microsoft, like licking a beached whale in a vain hope it will live. "Sticking around" only validates the infinite's approach, release in an incomplete, buggy state, then string along the fans with live service bs until it maybe reaches a complete state.
Halo's community??? this is exactly what killed the game. if people knew what they really wanted and didn't just complained about everything and anything, halo wouldn't be in this situation today.
As much as I respect your sentiment, I switched from PlayStation 2 to the Xbox 360 specifically for Halo. I have been an Xbox man since. I've recently swapped from my Xbox series X over to PlayStation 5 though because I'm done with Xbox. Halo is gone man. The last two good games were Halo 4 and Halo Wars 2. Since then, every game between those games or after them have been pretty garbage. Halo infinite was kind of a mediocre game. Had a good story, even though it was pretty barebones, on the multiplayer started off in pretty poor condition. But broken promise on top of broken promise and an even more piss poor TV show is not enough to save the name. Halo and it's fan base will always live on. But the games, and everything Halo in recent history as completely destroyed what it is. Modern Halo is no longer Halo and that's a pill that everyone has to swallow. You can choose to live in ignorantly in the past, or mature and embrace acceptance and acknowledge that there is other games out there that are just as good, if not better than Halo now and find somewhere new to call home. You've done your part spartan. Your mission is over. Take a leap into the next great adventure with the rest of us! Maybe one day, we will come back to Halo and relive the glory days. Until then, I wish you well wherever life takes you.

It does hurt... A slap in the face to any true halo fan. I feel bad for people like eckhart's ladder and Halo follower whose entire brands have been built up around Halo and have been repeatedly disappointed, made to be liars and spoon feeding there community hopium. And it's not their fault. They want to believe in a future where Halo comes back out on top. But like most big and identifiable brands and names, more often than not they get destroyed. Disney is a great example of just that... Halo is now a part of an era that has since passed and likely an era we will never be able to visit again. It's very sad and troubling, but it's the truth..

The Halo legends headhunter clip, we still need that red spartans chest plate piece to be a thing, because if you didn't notice that piece of armor is still a mystery of what it is to this day and even compared to other chest pieces, it's in a specific design unlike a few.

This is what happens when people who deserve nothing gets everything.
All we need is a noble six last stand, something to stand up agaonst all odds to bring back the halo we loved, im not talking about bringing back the old formula, because despite it being what hooked us on halo, its the dev community interaction that this franchise has lost, that lack of communication that gives the devs the oppurtunity to provide the content that their game desprately needs

343 have ruined the franchise. The story got destroyed, the worldbuilding got destroyed, the gameplay got destroyed. Instead of truly fixing things they gave us a lukewarm free to play where you can't unlock anything without paying and a middling story mode that does away with the best potential villain in the first cutscene.
Im personally not on that side. ive liked 343 and enjoyed all the expansion they've added to the universe and i like that they didnt play it safe they've taken risks even if they didnt pay off
