As someone who has listened to EU PM for ~20 years, I got a good chuckle out of this. For me, the "Big 4" of Power Metal growing up were Helloween, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius & Nightwish. It's amazing that they still release new stuff and tour to this day

I think euro powermetal is generally more relaxing and exciting! Band like powerwolf, sabaton, dragonforce etc. But US Power Metal just feels like glorified speed metal but it's still great! Sacred steel is my fav in the US style.
the whole reason alestorm is so great (imo at least) is because you can tell that they love metal and just want to have a good time. every time I listen to alestorm I can feel the love they have for the genre and the fun they're having making their music. the love, energy, and dedication they put into their music is astounding and I just physically can't feel bad when I'm listening to their music.
The only time i am proud to be brazillian is when someone cites our Metal scene. Thanks man and also check age of artemis, they're from my city and just released a new album

About 10 years ago I told the singer of Ensiferum (mid gig) that if he waved his sword at me one more time that I would kick the crap out of him. He seemed somewhat chicken for a big bloke armed with a sword. Haha!
With the mention of Japan and experimentation you should check out Jupiter. A band that was originally made of members from Versailles (pretty much Versailles minus Kamijo) but these days it's just guitarists Hizaki and Teru, as along with doing the whole Power Metal thing they also dabble into Melodic Death Metal as well. Which adds a nice spin on their sound.

About 10 years ago I told the singer of Ensiferum (mid gig) that if he waved his sword at me one more time that I would kick the crap out of him. He seemed somewhat chicken for a big bloke armed with a sword. Haha!
With the mention of Japan and experimentation you should check out Jupiter. A band that was originally made of members from Versailles (pretty much Versailles minus Kamijo) but these days it's just guitarists Hizaki and Teru, as along with doing the whole Power Metal thing they also dabble into Melodic Death Metal as well. Which adds a nice spin on their sound.
