    IMO - NEVER EVER EVER publically disclose your personal holdings of Gold and Silver ... due to 'confiscation risks of/by an impending severely DESPARATE (and increasingly unethical) government.

    My advice on buying precious metals is to buy from a reputable dealer since they want to protect their good names so your likelihood of buying fake silver is much less than buying off of e-bay, or similar sites. Take possession of your purchases. If you don't hold it, you don't own it.

      Sometimes the online dealers will be dollars cheaper than my physical dealer on some items but having a good business relationship w/ him I am able to get what I need and if he doesnt have it he will call me when he does. For. eg. the A.S.E.'S , their mint fee on top of spot aren't attractive anymore. They are only attractive when they're @ 4$ over spot including mint joke fee .

      @@ToddGavin-dp6bk When Silver finally spikes, today's 'fees' above spot aren't going to matter. The bullion dealers need to make money, too, and they take more risks than the average Joe. I asked him if he had any security-safety problems and he laughed. He said because he only deals in metals and doesn't do jewelery or pawns, most of the population doesn't want what he has. He said, "Electronics are easy to unload, some jewelery, new clothing, car parts, tools and pot. No one is going to approach you in the parking lot at Walmart selling an ounce of gold. The average person doesn't want what I have because it's too much work."

      If you moved to a like minded farm, where others were doing the same thing as you, growing their own food, off the grid utility wise, and living in a very conservative area, and you lived in a smaller structure that's cheaper to heat and cool (off grid), you could live on that amount for allot longer.
      The solar cost has come down a lot, you can get a prefab house finished inside, at least in my area, for around 10'x24 with a front porch for 12K, figure 25K for a nice solar system, and other goodies wood stove, propane cook setup, etc maybe 10 to 15K to finish it out, 55 - 60K. House/Solar System/Heating/Cooling [composting toilet*] and all you need is a little small piece of land.

      times seem uncertain when we are in the middle of what's happening. It's only when we look back on it years later that we get a clearer view.

    People are always turned away by the premiums but you could look into goldbacks. They are fungible and can be purchased in small denominations. The smaller you go, the higher the premium even in coins. I would argue goldbacks have more utility. You are not going to buy your coffee and eggs with a 1oz coin, not even a half ounce. How does the merchant make change. Junk silver(pre1964 90% silver coins), 1oz coins/bars and goldbacks for everyday transactions.
    Also, after the Crowdstrike incident we need to fight an all digital money system AND the all digital identification system. Physical and anonymous must remain an option.

A single chicken wing, a whole chicken, or a whole chicken farm? Whether it's a .999 Gold ounce, a .999 Silver ounce, or a 90% US junk silver coin 1964 or older, how will people know the purchasing power of what they are holding? Will it just be bartering each time you want something to buy or what? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

      Hello mate 🤝 you're kind of looking at it wrong imo, if we get to a point where we are back to bartering with gold/silver, then that's a madmax style world. Fiat currency ( dollar/pounds or whatever) will always be around even during a crash/crisis. The real question you should be thinking is not how much chicken your gold will get you, but rather how much Fiat that is used at the time/place will you be able to get for your gold. Then you'll be able to go and get what you need for you and your family with that Fiat, as that's what the masses use and recognise where ever you find yourself 👍 hope that makes sense mate and hope you're well today 🤝 have a good one 🍻

      Should the dollar collapse, ALL fiat currencies will collapse as the dollar is the reserve currency and all other fiat currencies are derivatives of the dollar. There are no currencies in the world (ATM) that have intrinsic value therefore they will all return to zero and nobody will trust any form of paper "money" to trade for anything tangible.
      People learn very quickly what has value, especially if their survival depends on it.
      The free market will dictate the value, so it will depend on how eager they are for your silver and how desperate you are for their chicken?
      There is no definitive answer but I heard that during the hyperinflation in Venezuela 1oz silver could feed a family for a month and 1oz of gold could buy a modest home. Bearing in mind that Venezuela is a relatively poor country by western standards and you may have increase that to x2 or x3, it could still give you a "ball park" starting point?

      @hottuna7 hello mate 🤝 hope you're well today? When I say madmax I don't mean it literally. Venezuela is abit of an odd case, it's very rich in natural resources so that doesnt suprise me that they barter with gold, I remember hearing a story of how petrol station workers would swap a full tank of fuel for a cigarette lol. It is also a prime example of how socialism can run a country into the ground. They went from one of the richest countries in the world to one of the poorest in less than 100 years. I wouldn't want to live there anyway mate not sure about yourself, that's my idea of society breaking down and becoming lawless, almost madmax like if you will. Of course, if it was occurring and was public knowledge, it would go against the broader interests of the Treasury (protecting the value of the dollar in the short term and treasury bond investments) - but one could wonder, through various “black hole” budgets at the DoD, etc., if the US is allocating some resources to increase the ratio of gold to the M2 money supply, in the event of a structural crisis involving the fiat dollar.

    Not a question but a comment.
    There IS counterparty risk with Precious Metals if when you go to exchange them or trade them the other party does not want to, or will not, give you its official stated value or spot price. Granted that is an outlier situation such as an shtf scenario. In that situation one is much better served having things that people want or need rather than a medium of exchange.
    Structure is important.
    As long as "the system" is intact then gold and silver retain their "market value."

    • @johnluiten3686
      @johnluiten3686 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Possibly, but really a complex society is not going to function well with barter. Currency will be in demand, it must, especially for distance exchanges. However, in a collapse scenario, not one takes fiat currency, but will recognize the intrinsic value of precious metals. The ability to “have *all* things” that people want (barter goods) seems problematic as well. Perhaps the best is to have some of both, precious metals and some barter goods which you may need as well.

None of what I do here is advice - I openly share what I am doing and what you do is your choice. Like I said - I share everything transparently on Patreon and there is a reason I am growing there too. Just saying.

    A 1/4 oz gold coin question, please. Presently my budget allows me to buy 1/4, oz's, I am aware of the premiums vs 1ozers, but I always see the 1/4oz gold British Tutor coins at $30+ lower than other 1/4ozers like AGE, Maple, Britannia, etc...I haven’t collected the quarter ounce gold tutor coins in the past, but they are at such a great price being a 1/4oz that it’s frustrating vs buying a more expensive 1/4 gold ones. In your opinion, would you buy these because of the lower price? And why or why not, thank you!!

    On physical metals, I definitely prefer gold. The silver I have is for barter ability in the event of a total fiat crash. On silver I prefer to hold PSLV or CEF units as they can immediately be converted to fiat when needed.

      I don't even bother with PSLV as I don't care about physical. I'm only interested in buying low and selling high. Simple math. No premiums, no fakes, no nefarious coin dealers, no excuses about cash flow when it comes time to sell, just click the buy or sell button. Did the same with Bitcoin. Have no real interest in it but I'm willing to buy low, sell high with the IBIT ETF.

    As gold and silver rise, the value of your 'currency' falls. Gold and silver are a good way to retain the value, but you don't really 'make' much on top unless 'trading' it with leverage (which is not advisable for anything because it is so risky).

    I have a traunch of cash in coins and small bills in case things shut down, that way I don't have to spend my silver or gold in an emergency. People will definitely accept cash and coins because nothing else will be working and people really don't "get" bitcoins, silver and gold, yet. yet. They won't know what a silver or gold coin is, and even if they do, they may not accept it, and even if they do, they may know how to value it. So, lotsa small bills and tons of coins.

    Also keep in mind the number of gold and silver doesnt mean anything its the purchase power it holds, you arent getting rich youre stopping the bleeding. Qhen things reset and you can buy a house sure but otherwise the nubers going up is just the value( purchasing power) of the dollar going down

    I think a thought experiment is in order: Will Gold and Silver be worth less when the US Debt hits 40 trillion, 50 trillion, 60 trillion? What would make anyone sell with debt levels soaring? Always take the long view as the debt only increases over time from here. Any market selling in the Gold and Silver markets can't be sustain as the debt in a few years will always be larger than it is today. Ignore a down turn as any down turn in the Gold and Silver market are short lived relative to the conversation that occurs as each year goes by. Perhaps someday in the distant distant future the picture will change but for now why would you sell when 40 trillion in debt is just around the corner and 10 trillion more are to come on the top of that in the blink of an eye?

    • @m5research915
      @m5research915 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have to add, if you have owned Gold and Silver all these years when the debt was small and relatively under control why sell now? Why not wait till it is 50 trillion or 70 trillion? The conversation about what value is will be a lot different at those levels of debt. Right now we are just in early stages when people are starting to get nervous about the big picture. Panic and chaos has not set in based on the debt yet imagine the thoughts and processes for people when it reaches 70 trillion. This is just series of waves that grown darker and larger over time.

    Let me try to answer the 1st. question maybe a bit plainer if not just better, 🙃. A while back I got me a 20 gram bar of gold, because the price was right, & it is the same size as the 1 oz (but not as thick), & it is a nice bar that I though I could maybe use for a necklace..... anyways I thought for the price I paid for it I could buy a reasonable recliner (sofa chair) like the one I use. Ok that was at the time maybe around $1,252.69 (US). Now that bar is selling for $1,623.60 & I'm sure I could buy the same type recliner. But lets say that the dollar fall's to zero,,,,, well I think the guy making the recliner would still trade me the recliner for my 20 gram gold bar. Now there are factors that might make the not quite true, like maybe labor is dirt cheep at that time, so he might sell/trade it to me for less gold, or maybe labor & material is harder to get so he might one more gold. But nevertheless almost for sure he'll make me a deal. Or I could sell my gold for the new currency & then more or less buy the recliner for the amount of new currency I could get for my 20 gram gold bar. Lots of factors involved here but this is the way I think of it overall. Now in saying all this,.... back in the 1980 I bought a bicycle for 100 dollars (made in the USA) & I thought it was the best deal I'd ever get, but 30 years later the bike cost the same price because it was outsourced to China. So the point is sometimes things outside of the value of gold will make gold buy more or less of what you want.

    Guaranteed liquidity position is key… both contractual guarantee to leverage (whole life insurance) and precious metals (hedge with ready market). 100% of my household income is capitalized in some combination of these two capital assets. Those assets are then collateralized and leveraged for investments, primarily real estate. Accepting absolutely ZERO stock market downside risk at these levels; trading against volatility, but holding nada on stock market long-term pending substantial correction.

    Good stuff - thx! But what I can't get: Why has the Dollar lost so much during the Bretton Woods agreement mid 40ties till 71? Gold should stabilize fiat-money - but there is no visible difference in decline!

    • @baldguymoneyofficial
      @baldguymoneyofficial  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Robert - the dollar loses value mainly through expansion of the money supply. Gold supply grows at 2% or less according to some estimates - money supply has grown much quicker than that.

      Fact: inflation is a direct result of the government printing more money; they are literally *inflating* the money supply. Therefore "inflation" is an intentional act by the gov't. to tax the people *without* the people (generally speaking) understanding why.
      If you go to the FRED webpage, you'll see that the gov't. admits that the dollar has lost 97% of it's purchasing power. What you won't see is them admitting why that has happened: INFLATION!
