As a fellow victim of recent layoffs, wishing you nothing but good luck.

I wish you the best. I am very impressed by your talents as a cook and filmmaker 3:16 - you might want to consider a new career!

Looking at your daily routine and food preparation, restaurant business could be your alternative.

I also wish you the best of luck, work has gotten really slow for me the last 2 months. I'm now doing in a week what I would normally do in 2 days. I'm not worried about getting laid off because if I do, I have a healthy savings that I could live off of for at least 3 years before I would then need to find a job. I hope that you find a job soon!

I guess I am confused 🤔 You went to work for a company, they laid you off, there isn't many jobs in your field since everyone else is getting laid off in your field. So I guess my question is why are you trying to find another job in the same field, when the risk of getting laid off again is high, and their isn't many jobs in the field right now? Can you start your own business? Find another field you can get into? Network with people that might be able to find you something? Just not sure scrolling randomly on Job boards is going to be successful 🤷‍♂️

because thats where she can get the best salary and has the highest chance of landing a role. entering another field/industry would cause her to start from square 1 in terms of pay and career growth with no guarantee of success.

I think after a layoff the best thing to do is de-stress. Unplug for a few days. The IT market is not that great now and probably won't be good any time soon. You have skills and experience that can be used for other careers as well. Try something new.
If you don't feel qualified, you can always freelance. Tech will always be here, this world runs on technology and something like this has happened before. Maybe not at this level but it has. Overall just unplug. Get away and clear your mind.
Just cause your not needed now doesn't mean your not needed. You got this. Don't give up and just focus on being the best you.

Do you feel it has improved now?

Nope, but now is the time to take all the experience and work ethic and go in to business for yourself.
There are many businesses out there that you can mirror and mock without the stress of having come up with a new idea. The tech market is oversaturated now that unless you are the top tier in your skill you don't stand a chance.
Working on my business now. I am not waiting or relying on a job as my only source of income. That is how you end up homeless or in a job you hate and can't leave. I wouldn't worry. Just use want you have, learn what you can, and do your own thing. Companies don't really care about their employees anymore.

Your voice sounds weak as if you are about to cry. Is this recent? Maybe try some liquid extract korean ginseng?
