      @@allthingstech That is what I do... I am looking at replacing an old Epson Home Cinema projector with this. It is the last in my equipment replacements before I am fully 4K UHD. I already use a Roku 4K (no worries about what the XGimi can do there) thru a 4K receiver and play movies with a Panasonic 4K player. Can't wait!

  • @TheLsduk1

    Single HDMI is not good. BUT I honestly think this and many projectors are designed to be hooked up to an AVR with multiple inputs for a fuller AV experience. Android built-in enables portability,configurability, and adds some flexibility. Although, it has to be said, I have an old 1080p Epson projector that’s has 2 HDMI inputs - so it’s not beyond any tech company to add another port these days.

    I'd like to connect the Horizon S Max to a AVR (Sony TA-AN1000) where a AppleTV is connected. Will that be a problem? Can I turn on the AppleTV, have it wake up the AVR, that in turns wakes up the projector? I don’t want to use three different remote controls. Preferably just one.

    Does the Horizon S Max also have automatic keystone correction in game mode?

    • @Deczkin
      @Deczkin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I might be mistaken but my understanding is (and this is how they made it in previous models) is that there is no keystone correction in game mode. The reason behind that is that if there's no effect/transformation applied to the image the input lag is lower. If there was kestone then every frame would have to be preprocessed and thrown on the wall with a delay hence in some cases the game would be unplayable. Tested original xgimi horizon.

    • @Elshrimpo

      Thanks for your input! I am definitely sensitive to artifcats on screens (instantly noticed a dead pixel on my 83 inch G4 and returned it immediately). I have read about laser speckles and that would be very annoying to see while consuming content at 150+ inches.

    One thing I really wish XGimi would do on their four-corner correction screen is allow you to see the actual image while adjusting, rather than their circle/pattern thing. I'm hopeless at being able to tell when it's a perfect circle, but the second I go back to something like the home screen, or the Firestick home screen, I can tell instantly due to the interface boxes being 'off'' - this is a very niche preference, I know, but you can do it when zooming (on my Horizon Pro anyway), so I wish you could do it when adjusting. Even as a toggle option.

    • @TheFirstRealChewy

      With this projector you will have more lumens, that is, it is brighter and even more important, you will have at least twice the contrast, that is, blacker blacks. A detail to keep in mind. With respect to the ultra, you will lose the optical zoom, which is excellent. In this case, unfortunately, Xgimi wanted to reduce costs and does not have it. I had the ultra, but I bought the Chinese version of this s-max, which is the rs 10 ultra, which is superior and different from this version in several aspects.
