I remember one time I was talking to a guy who criticized combat in er and then he proceeded to tell me that he runs past everything and then I said maybe that's why you don't like it. I told him I fight every new kind of enemy and he was in SHOCK, somehow I was the crazy one because I didn't skip the content (I thought these games were about combat and exploration)
@@Cowhale2 Exactly. Such a big part of the experience (not just in ER, but in souls in general) is to fight against new enemies and test your skills against them. And its way more fun than pressing shift and W 4 hours straight
@@marcosdaroca8432 Exactly. I was like everyone else when I first fought with a runebear but I actively sought out fights with them to learn how to defeat them. Now I have zero issues with runebears It's so fun when you finally "get it", a seemingly impossible enemy becomes super managable
@@Cowhale2 Yeah. One of the strongest points of souls games is the carefully planned level design and enemy placement (and the sense of accomplishment you get when defeating a threat that seemed unstoppable at first). Running half past of that is just... Sad
@@marcosdaroca8432 Yeah, there was one place in DS1 (Demon Ruins) where Taurus Demons and Capra Demons were haphazardly placed next to each other staring at nothing. That moment was obviously because that enemy placement got rushed but it really made me appreciate how intricate enemy placements are in these games. I've never seen any other rushed placement like that, every other enemy was placed so carefully, I love it, every little tiny mob's placement in the world makes total sense
