I have been trapping for over 60 years now, my wife and I are indigenous people and we live off our line, everything we trap and hunt is use to it's fullest. I've tried to get a lot of people to try eating beaver meat only to hear them say," you can't eat them." , and they are surprised to hear that's all we eat, education is the best tool ,but how people are taught makes the biggest difference, thank for the video, you folks did a great job.
I don’t trap but I respect the management and cultural value that it offers. The reality is that the human race would not have evolved to what it is without the hunting trapping and consumption of wildlife. Communicate and educate.
Prior to this, I was in the legion of folks that thought of trapping as an inhumane and archaic form of butchery. Thank you for making this and providing in-depth view, and as a result my understanding, of (legal) trapping. As a lifelong Vermonter with no intention to ever move I will always advocate in favor of trapping moving forward. Also, f*&k the cowards who illegally trap and give y'all a bad rap!
While I do not trap or hunt, I grew up with my father and brothers hunting and fishing. This film was excellent. Vermont Fish and Wildlife personnel must be respected for their work and the invaluable data they generate in cooperation with those who trap, hunt, and fish lawfully. This cooperation enables Vermonters to be proud of our wildlife laws. I respect those people who hunt, trap, and fish. I have never met a person who hunts, traps, or fishes and does not respect wildlife and the land. I value their expertise when I have a wildlife management issue on my 200 + acres. I fear the people who want to ban something more because they disagree with it. Those individuals are being intellectually dishonest. Thank you all for making this film.
VT needs to find our backbone and stand up for our heritage. 13 years ago, I got my trapping license as a teenager. Anyone trying to take that away, good luck.
I'm overjoyed this film came out, it tastefully claps back at the internet troll Brenna Goldenzi and exposes her gaslighting tactics. Hopefully some of her rotten followers have a change of heart after watching this film.
I am an older women, it never occurred to me to become a trapper. But I want to where besides getting a certificate and license .can I learn more about this?mainly I want to do it to encourage my grandchildren for the future.
There’s also Fur Takers of America, the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, your state Fish and Wildlife Department, and the Vermont Trappers Association.
As a Massachusetts resident and trapper I plead with the people of Vermont to fight for your rights to trap. Don’t allow your state to suffer the same fate as mine. My heart breaks thinking of how our heritage and culture was destroyed. Fight with all you have 👍👍
Just because it has been done for generations is NO excuse for trapping in the 21st century. We live now, not 100 yrs ago! Times change. We know more now about animal suffering. To be trapped is suffering, not simply physically , but emotionally. Animals trapped experience panic, fear, sadness…the same as humans. We are wired the same way. Denial about animal suffering does nothing to earn respect. All life deserves understanding, respect and the prevention of suffering. This video shows how a child gets “trapped” into trapping. Children are NOT born a trapper. They are taught to be insensitive to animal suffering to be able to trap. If they saw their pet caught in a trap they would free it. Instead, they are taught to approach other animals to kill. It is sad, because there is incredible value in a healthy relationship with wildlife that far exceeds the value of their dead body.

Excellent presentation, common sense game stewardship of why we need responsible trappers.

You need to watch the documentary again. Open your mind. Learn why there IS an excuse for trapping...
Fantastic video, thanks
We all fight for what we believe in - and that is a good thing🫵
