We just bought new place so unfortunately house payments again. But I'm aiming to start my garden next spring & hopefully adding some animals. Too late in season to start garden now. Would love to get off grid. We'll see what takes place.

I'm 67 and can tell you it only gets harder as you get older so you just have to take that into consideration but the key to keeping going is to keep active.

Thanks for the great advice James. I work in the healthcare industry and see this daily, sedentary 60 year olds in very poor health, overweight, and weak, also Active 60 year olds pretty healthy with the exception of the one thing they are hospitalized for.

As retirement plans go, it's a pretty darn good one. Relax in peace and quiet and enjoying what you love to do. Keep up the great work Jerry, glad y'all escaped the flames.

My hubby and I just turned 60. We want to enjoy our lives and children/grandchildren yet not be over stressed. I have lived on farm but he is a city boy. He wants to do it all and I feel like a meanie saying no, no, no. Can’t bite off more than I can chew! I know I’ll be the one doing the majority of the work!!!

Hey Jerry, Linda down here in muddy , soggy Florida.....I can totally relate to the retirement issue . I myself have been thinking a lot of the growing old thing and how the heck I'm going to keep things going here....My husband is completely disabled to do a crushed spine he got in a freak accident 18 years ago...my kids are grown and pretty much do their own thing.
So yes I'm nervous of not being able to keep the farm chores and house chores and all done by myself. We cannot afford to hire in help so I just keep plugging on , on my own. But what I've been doing is making lol changes here and there to make my feeding of the animals go faster and easier and not so often by making and installing larger feed holders and watering systems. I've had no luck at all grading so I don't have that worry anymore....ill try again in the spring..I don't know.....i just don't know what I can continue doing and how much longer I can do it for. As I said I do it all myself . That also includes new fencing or any repairs to the older fencing. Also painting all the the out buildings and the barn...itsbalot of hard work!! But for now.....I LOVE THE ANIMALS, AND I ENJOY IT AL!!so I'll keep pushing on! Love your videos keep them c omming. Linda 😊

I do not look forward to that day when I have to give up on my farm chores. This is my paradise.

When we had hogs on the farm back in my day we would go around to near by restraunts and grocery stores and get slop. It was free. Just a thought....

I have been considering that. But I live in a rural area where there are many who already have the corner on that market.

Jerry you are spot on. I had a job that I could have worked for a real long time. We came to work and they decided to close the company. I was 69, thank goodness I was debt free and had saved all my SS , still it's a big adjustment, good luck and good planning

Wow I thought you were much younger then that. More like late 40s to early 50s. Best of luck in your endeavors. And I continue to look forward to your videos.
