Gordon Shedden, Sam Tordoff and Árón Smith claimed wins at the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham today.
Smith became the 12th different winner this season - a record for the BTCC - as Tordoff, in his BMW 125i M Sport, extended his lead at the top of the standings ahead of the penultimate round at Silverstone next month.

Essentially you can use an engine the BTCC supplies or one of your own.
My understanding is that your own engine can be based on any you make for you cars, or any Marques you own, of the appropriate capacity. E.g. Renault could use a Nissan engine as a base or VW, Seat, Audi, Skoda could all use the same engine.
