That certainly wasn't an easy climb in an out. I always wonder how these ancient people did that with hardly any lighting. Did they use bronze tools themselves?
Really interesting but I’m not sure I can finish. Even pictures like this can trigger my claustrophobia. As the wife of a caver I’m aware that mines are dangerous and very difficult to get someone out of in case of rockfall, or just collapse.
It is called Parys Mountain btw . :) So why not open a parallel shaft from the surface down to Henry;s shaft to the Bronze age one that you want to explore? It isn't hard to do looking at the mines 3D map.
Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's interested in Bronze Age arms and armor I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series, especially the one about historical military units
I think I can appreciate the lure an inhospitable and soon inaccessible, virgin site has on a scientist. Yet risking death to see how people once lived, hardly sounds like viable research approach. Given that we dug a tunnel to France, bronze age engineers already got down there and that this site is a not even 50yds underground, going in from the surface using modern tools might cost them a bit of drama but offer safer results. Seeing the team slither through cold muck and slime, almost completely offsets the mildly woke whiff accompanying the group selection. It was worth the watch, despite the inevitable outcome. But who signed off on the phrasing of that narration? Damn!
With so much more things to find about the Bronze Age and knowing what was there before, why go so far inside, facing danger, would you want to go there?
I love hearing those twenty year old women explaining everything to me. I had no idea people who just started life could aquire so much knowledge in just days after adulthood. Go woman power.
"So if this collaspses, how much time have we to get out?" Hahahaha he's laughing and not answering you directly, because you wouldn't, but having you scared makes for increased danger for everyone involved. 😊
I’ve not finished watching but it occurs to me that archeologists who are accustomed to caves would have been smarter. Perhaps not as attractive or entertaining, but safer and more productive.
Yes because archaeology is, famously, about every single dig being a history making, unbelievable discovery... Oh no wait its about spending lifetimes trying to find bits of disintegrating history before it is lost to time.
The title is a LIE. Bronze is not a mineable combination on elements, but man made and combined elements of tin and copper. Title to educate and develop interest and entusiasm for real history. When you start with a deception, hard to do.
Considering the quality of education in the last 20 years, now, kids will think bronze is a mined substance due to your title. How many will watch through?
'Bronze Age' refers to the time period whan the mine started, NOT that they were mining bronze. Only people who don't read properly would think that it does.
@@BoingBB "Archaeologists Explore Bronze Age Mine Lost For 4000 Years | Extreme Archaeology | Unearthed History" like what is this person even talking about?? XD ppl will complain about anything in order to feel smart or special
the legacy tv format is hard to watch. this whole episode could have lasted 30 minutes without the constant repeating of the same information over and over like a person can't remember what they saw before the commercials. they really think people are idiots and i learned nothing and there was 90% of the episode talking only about how hard it is to get down the mine and how dangerous and nothing about the bronze age miners

With all that mapping, can’t they find the buried bronze age entrance to the section where they found the rock and wood? If they re-excavated it, they’d have a safer more direct access to the bronze age section.
No Way in the World i'd head in there. Props to everyone here looking for archeology!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The level of anxiety I had watching them crawl under those rotted timbers was off the charts… there’s not enough money in the world…
That was almost trying to create the skeletal remains to be gathered by the next generation of archaeologists.
Absolutely! I keep telling myself we have the video so they must have got out!
It was a fantastic explore. They were all very brave for science and mankind!

Mike wasn't looking too happy about going down into Paris and Mona mine.

have not heard that word in many years stope ,a type of mining I did at NJZ company. I loved it there !
You guys picked the most dangerous places anyone should ever go in.

This made me claustrophobic at 2 am 😅 cool show though!

Not a chance in hell I would ever attempt that. Ever. Kudo to all of them.
Our camera crew couldnt come . Except they could . Talj about un necessary drama .
I love archaeology, but the guy who swallowed the big book of hyperbole gets to me.

glad I skipped straight to the end - no sense waiting to find out the quest was a bust.
It may have been wast rock back then. What is it in today's market?

Too bad you weren't there to hell them staff this mission. I'm sure you'll be on the next job lending your professional guidance....
I'd apply for a new job.
SPOILER ALERT: THE “DIG” WAS AN UTTER FAILURE.
IF YOUR TIME IS LIMITED - SKIP THIS ONE.

The title reads: "Bronze Age" mine, not a bronze mine.
Maybe put away the geology and mineral books and... pick up a dictionary.

Katie and Alice are legends.
They are the stars of the show.
AND what did they find ,nothing of any consequence 😂😂
Oh yes every archaeological exploration in history has famously turned up mounds of groundbreaking finds.
That music is ridiculously out of context :/ but the expedition is incredibly risky...
I like this how, but the Dr Who sound effects are not helping
Didn't think I would be watching a show about Henry's Shaft... Lol
Might not be to bad to be in there with a couple females that could be a awesome trip 😊
Hint: NO they do NOT get into virgin territory. This episode is a huge bummer.
Seems as precarious as exploring an old gold or silver mine in the US southwest and finding 150 year old explosives.

Caves terrify me! Not the sort of archeology I would have been able to do. Give me a nice warm sunny desert!
My god. How boring and drawn out. Even after skipping ahead I still had to stop watching for fear I'd cut open my wrists.
wtf is wrong with you?
Havent they seen "The Descent"?!
This was pure nonsense.
