Hi sam. Great to meet you and looking forward to further posts. I would say your sound needs sorting, it was a little quiet but apart from that (first post, things won't be perfect)I will be subscribing to the page and I look forward to our bibliophile journey
Intro video was so good! Music and visuals set a perfect mood for sitting down to talk. It is also appealing because it looks like it was made by you in your own home. It is warm and appealing, not like cartoonish AI stuff.
Nice job! My favorite thing was when you said you are going to try to have a positive vibe & that appeals very much! I look forward to the content you share. You mentioned a passion for music....do you sing or play an instrument? Regardless, welcome & good luck with the channel!
Thank you! I think I just wanted to talk about the things I like, which I'm sure will have the occasional criticism, but will always come from a place of enjoyment! Unfortunately, I'm not very musically talented myself, but have always loved music!
Thank you. I feel like I have a lot of hobbies and interests, so want to spotlight different great things, whether it’s music, film, or even board games!
Welcome^^ David Mitchell is definitely an author I need to set aside some time for, I've read Cloud Atlas and I have Utopia Avenue sitting on my TBR shelf, but Thousand Autumns sounds like the Mitchell book I'll have to get to after that👀 And aahhhhh, The Count of Monte Cristo is my favourite book! Always happy to hear people enjoying it😄
Mitchell is one of those great authors where you can read his books as stand alone and they are fantastic, but the more of him you read the more connections you make, and it gives you a whole new level of enjoyment
Welcome to the BookTube community! Great introduction video - I spotted several of my favorite titles on your shelves. Best of luck with your channel - I look forward to watching more of your videos. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
So cool to find another channel with such similar reading taste to myself. I totally agree about David Mitchell, he’s so cool and needs to be talked about more. Funnily enough I also only have number9dream left to read before I’ve read his entire catalog. Enjoy The Count of Monte Cristo! It’s a beautiful and satisfying read.
I just really wanted to find a space to talk about the things that I was really loving! Can’t wait to share what I’ve been reading and my thoughts on them! Thanks for subscribing!
I feel like tea is very much something you have to persevere with. I don’t think I loved it to start with, especially green or herbal tea. This one was peppermint and liquorice, so had a nice level off sweetness
I’ll be interested to hear more about what you think as you are getting deeper into count of monte cristo. I have not read it yet but I’m currently reading through the three musketeers by the same author and I’ve loved it so far, I might just move on to monte cristo when I’m done with that. I do highly recommended the 2002 film adaptation of the count starring Jim Caviezel, it’s one of my favorites
I remember seeing the film adaptation ages ago, and I remember enjoying it. From what I can tell the film cuts a lot of the book out, but so far the book is great, maybe I’ll do a bit of a progress report on the next video
Another book lover with a film degree! Welcome to booktube from a fellow newbie! I love the Count of Monte Cristo, it’s one of my favorites. Can’t wait to see what you do next!
Well done. Germany: Douze points :) Funny, how your books all fit exactly into your bookshelf, even their heights - I never manage to do this but it sure looks good.
I've read all of David Mitchell's books, and they are all really good, but Jacob de Zoet really stood out for me too. A fantastic read. And like you I'm rather puzzled that DM doesn't get more love on BookTube. Look forward to your future videos.
Hey Sam, well done on getting your first upload out there! The Count of Monte Cristo is such a great book. I've only listened to it, so I was like, "Whoa! Look at the size of that!" I read Cloud Atlas but no other David Mitchell books. I've clearly been missing out. I read a speculative fiction / alt history novel last year called The Years of Rice and Salt that reminded a little of Cloud Atlas. I have recorded a review of it and I hope to edit it this week. I've not read Mistborn. I'm currently half-way through Rhythm of War. I'm sure I'll get to Mistborn at some point. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you. A hearty welcome to BookTube!
Hi! Thank you very much! Cloud Atlas is fantastic! I'll have to check out The Years of Rice and Salt, and will definitely be watching your review! My plan is to get through Mistborn and then move onto Stormlight archives!
Welcome! (don't know who I am to say welcome, but I watch a lot of booktube :P) It was a fun and great video. I'm currently reading The thousand autumns of Jacob de Zoet. So too late too read Bone Clocks, but will read afterwards then :) Good luck building this channel!
Thank you! Don't worry about it being reading it before Bone Clocks, Thousand Autumns was published first so you are reading in the order that David Mitchell intended!
Great first video! 🙂 Really like the vibe! Just started my reading-blog so I know starting something new can be hard! 😉 But I really liked your books and placed a follow to make sure to see more of you and your books! 👍🏻 Good luck and keep up the great work! 😁 PS: I will start with Mistborn as well this year as well as the count of monte christo I think… will be my first Sanderson and the first Dumas! 🙂😉
Hope you enjoy my first upload!

@@mikeprendergast1826 Thanks Mike! Will definitely look to make the sound quality better for the next one!

Thank you so much!

I feel like tea is very much something you have to persevere with. I don’t think I loved it to start with, especially green or herbal tea. This one was peppermint and liquorice, so had a nice level off sweetness
Welcome to BookTube . Who is the cat in the background?

@peterorzechowski356 there are 6 books in the three musketeers ending with the man in the iron mask. Enjoy
MCU! I haven't seen anyone else talking about that, but I really want to read it. Welcome to Booktube!
Thank you! It's an interesting read, just a little light on the really in-depth stuff if you already know the basic history of the studio!
Welcome! I look forward to your future videos. It's always good to have new contributors in the community.
Peace

Thank you! Luckily, all the shelves are adjustable!
I've read all of David Mitchell's books, and they are all really good, but Jacob de Zoet really stood out for me too. A fantastic read. And like you I'm rather puzzled that DM doesn't get more love on BookTube. Look forward to your future videos.
Thank you! I think Jacob de Zoet was the one I was most apprehensive to read, but ended up being one of my favourites!
