เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 ก.พ. 2016
Hello and welcome to my channel! My name is Sam, and I love to read and talk about books! Fantasy, sci-fi, classics, contemporary post-modern fiction, you name it! 📚
July reading update... Sanderson! Star Wars! Jack Reacher! Murakami!
I've been away for awhile but the good news is I've done lots of reading, and managed to put a hefty dent in my tbr!
I talk about reading the Jack Reacher book Tripwire, as well as the sequel to Before The Coffee Goes Cold with Tales From The Cafe! I also give my thoughts on Number9Dream by David Mitchell and read my first two books by Haruki Murakami.
Not forgetting finally getting round to reading the second book in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series The Well Of Ascension.
It's been a busy month and a bit! Hope you enjoy!

The joe abercrombie books are great.
Thanks. Really appreciate what you do. Keep going.
How about a video just on Star Wars books? Like where to start, what to avoid, etc.
Library looks good. Best wishes with your reading choices. I hope you get some great stories.
Thank you! You too!
Hi from Australia... sounds like my kind of channel. Looking forward to it.
Hi there, hope you enjoy the channel!
I’m really intrigued anytime anyone says the dune books go downhill bcos the first one is not good already 😂 (it’s not good but I still liked it??)
I do think the first one is a good book, but it does get bogged down the more it goes on.
“Dune” was clearly written out of Herbert’s love of ecology. But those themes are not present in his other five novels.
That’s interesting. I’m definitely finding Children a harder book to get through.
The books aren't close enough to the camera to read the titles.
I’ll make sure to keep get them close next time!😊
You serious? 😂 he couldn’t have been more closer
Love to read Agatha Christie’s short stories at bedtime!
Yeah, they are great!
This was a great video concept, I always love hearing people talk about cozy/comfort books. My favorite cozy book is “to say nothing of the dog” by Connie Willis if anyone is in the mood for a very funny book about a jet lagged time traveller just trying to get some rest
I’ll have to check that one out. It sounds great!
The Tiffany Aching books are very much on my list of "cosy" books to sit down and relax with.
I’m thinking I might need to do a full read through this year!
The algorythm brought me to your channel and I just subscribed! You have very similar taste to mine in books so I'm really looking forward to see your content!
Thanks for subbing! Let me know if there’s any books you think I should be reading!
@@sammeadesreads You're more than welcome, thank you for replying! And my advice would be on keeping reading books you feel appealed by, don't follow any trends, be yourself cause that's what's lacking in this community imo
Your bookshelves are beautiful, love them!
Thank you so much!
Legends and Lattes is a great choice. I need to read Days at the Morisaki Bookshop.
It's so good! And there’s a sequel coming out later this year which I can’t wait for!
I love books about books - and bookshops! 😊 Gotta pick up Days at the Morisaki Bookshop!
You should! It’s a really great read!
What are your favourite cosy reads?
Last year I read The Goblin Emperor and it felt like cozy read to me, love this book
Welcome! 😊
Thanks!
I’m gonna come back to this video when I’ve finished this book myself!! 😅
Let me know what you think of it!
Hiking and reading…my 2 favorite activities.
100% agree!
Cormac McCarthy's "Blood Meridian" is killer. Peace on earth.
I'll have to give it a read!
Audiobooks are great for learning pronunciations when fictional or foreign languages are prominent. Go back and forth until you feel comfortable reading it correctly.
That’s a good tip. It would definitely help with pronouncing names. TBH it’s not something I’d thought too much about until starting this channel as reading had always been a very solitary thing for me, and it didn’t matter to me if I’d pronounced something wrong in my head, but now I’m talking more about the books I’m reading it’s definitely become a consideration.
So many of my favorite books are featured in this video! 😎📚👍
What other books do you like?
I know you said that you don’t tend to listen to a lot of fiction based audiobooks, but I’d recommend any classic audiobook that has a multi cast production for its recording. I listened through Dracula with the casting that included Tim Curry as Van Helsing. Dune is also another classic I recommend as a listen that has a full audio cast. Anyway, glad you enjoyed Monte Cristo!
I’ve never listened to a full cast audiobook, so I will definitely have to check one out!
I really enjoyed reading The Count Of Monte Cristo, what other classics do you think I should read/talk about?
Les miserabel
@@Ali-rs2wtfunny enough, that is one I’ve had my eye on
The Brothers Karamazov is always worthwhile.
Walking and running is great! Especially now spring is here!😊
It sure is! I've been looking forward to some better weather for ages!
Going for a walk is so important to me these days. Helps keep me sane.
For me, going out and just getting fresh air and some open space helps massively!
Welcome! Books, soft music, and a cat....count me in, subscriber number 424 😊
Welcome aboard! Thanks for subbing!
Beautiful bookshelf arrangement. Instant subsribe here !❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Welcome to booktube!! I read The End of Mr Y when I was 14/15 and LOVED it, I’ve never seen anyone mention Scarlett Thomas so thank you for that 🎉
It's so good! End Of Mr Y is still my favourite from her!
What are your favourite adaptations?
Surprised at the HP omission! Especially because of the hogwarts sign and the 7 book series behind you
@@MisterJakeWillis I like the books, and they were definitely the series that got me into reading when I was young, but I’m not a massive fan of the films. I would also say that not everything on the shelf is mine
Intro video was so good! Music and visuals set a perfect mood for sitting down to talk. It is also appealing because it looks like it was made by you in your own home. It is warm and appealing, not like cartoonish AI stuff.
Thank you so much!
I have been intimidated by the size of the stand for so long, i really need to just get into it.
It's a great book, and rewards perseverance!
Just watch one of the 2 mini-series and tell people that you read the book. The biggest secret of booktubers.
You’d be missing out on a great book to watch a mediocre tv show if you did that
Memory of Light ❤ Wow, that was a solid list! I haven't read "The Bone Clocks", but I definitely will. My favorite David Mitchell's book so far is "Black Swan Green". "The Road", "Memory Police" (and also "Revenge" by Yoko Ogawa), "The Remains of the Day" and The Wheel of Time series are my favorites too!
I will have to check out Revenge. Black Swan Green is a great book too!
I read The Dark Half and Four Past Midnight as a young adult, so I agree he’s a good crossover author 👍🏼
He really is! Think I went on a Stephen King binge when I was 14
Love your tea pot! Where can I get something like that?
It’s from Whittards, think I got it from their outlet store at the o2
Hah - Stephen King AND Cormac McCarthy!!! It's a Top Five custom-designed to get Steve STEAMED! But now I feel like making this kind of video myself ...and nagging everybody else to do likewise ...
Would love to hear yours!
Dude, I love your bookshelf! The LEGO's are lovely touch!
Thanks so much!
Bernie and Rose are from Lost. Great 2nd post, thanks!
Yes they are!
Good luck Sam! I’ve liked and subscribed and am looking forward to watching your channel!
Thanks so much! Looking forward to creating more!
Hello Sam! Greetings from California!
Hello!
Hi! Really liking your content so far. I appreciate the mix of classic lit and new titles. And yay Last Dinner Party! That band is a lot of fun. Thanks for the intro to your cats😍
Thank you! Glad you liked seeing the cats! Yeah, really loving the Last Dinner Party. It’s a great debut.
Love the idea that you will bring in other types of media to your videos. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thank you. I feel like I have a lot of hobbies and interests, so want to spotlight different great things, whether it’s music, film, or even board games!
Welcome I just found your channel. "Walking with Sam" if you have not heard about it and having a son you might really enjoy. It's on my TBR and listening to you really has me thinking about starting it. It's about a father and teenage son I believe they walk across Italy. He talks about the high and lows of it. The conversation they have. Good Luck with your channel. Really enjoyed the content.
Thanks for the tip! That sounds like it would be right up my street!
Really nice video, hope you enjoy The Count of Monte Christo!
Thank you!
Thanks Sam, great vlog. Love a good charity shop haul. 👏👏🦘
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!
Great first video Sam, looking forward to the next one. Cheers Chris 🦘
Thank you!
Best wishes, Sam! I enjoyed this.
Thanks so much!
I'd love to know what songs/albums/artists you think fit your current or past reads! Great video!
Thanks! That’s a great idea, I’ll think about adding that to my next video!
Count of Monte Christo one of my favorite classics. I’m not a big classic person but the few that I love I really love and this is a top one.
I’m really enjoying it!
Bernie!😻
He’s a really lovely cat
