I breakdown Tina Cartagena’s break mark around backhand in the women’s World Ultimate Championship final. She has perfect form in throwing the around backhand to perfection.
Cartagena threw quite a few forehand arounds in the finals and was pointing her receivers to go there, but the mark still couldn't stop it. I'd love to see a video on it.
W analysis as always. But I wonder what makes this break throw of Yina's so special as most elite handlers/players have this kind of throw? I may be missing something here 😅
Thanks! Perhaps I didn’t clarify this but this throw isn’t necessarily unique to Yina and not meant to show that she is the only one that throws it but in watching the WUC finals it was a great example of this throw in a big game situation executed to perfection.
@@kurtegibson for me I really appreciate the fact that you emphasize how Yina’s release is far from her body, and in fact the throw beats the marker by *just that much*. So I found it very instructive in that sense
columbia women are always brilliant
Great analysis. Could you do a similar video on forehand break technique? (If you haven't already)
leftie here, yes please.
Absolutely

I hope there is a still photo of that attempted foot block. Looked crazy close.
I really need to work on this throw. Marques Brownlee had a nice twist on it for a score in the mixed finals with a half-pivot.
W analysis as always.
