It is so sad how much "common sense" is lost today. Most folks today didn't grow up as we did - in nature, with parents and grandparents who followed the old ways. I am glad to see so much interest last few years for this information. That is why channels like yours are so important. Many blessings and have a great week.

I'm 38, so - just about! - a member of the younger generations. I have always been close to nature and am currently trying to deepen that connection by learning herbalism, and have chosen this path voluntarily, independently recognising that this world is all wrong even before valuable sources of information like this wonderful channel became available. My common sense guided me against the grain of what I was told.
It's important to remember that younger generations lack common sense (there's also a deficit of wisdom amongst older generations in certain other ways - no-one is immune to ignorance) largely because we weren't taught any of this stuff. We have been repeatedly told by an increasingly capitalist society that something has to be bought to be worth something; our disconnection from nature is not entirely our own fault, caused by increased lack of access to diminishing green spaces, for example, and has resulted in many of us thinking that nature is dirty and untidy (not me now though!). These aren't all due to an inherent lack of common sense, but a result of how lost society has got.
If members of older generations were born today they would be just as likely to lack confidence in their own intuition as younger generations. Ultimately our ignorance and hesitation is fundamentally due to how astray society as a whole has become - led this way by the generations that came before us - not because younger generations are inherently lacking in common sense.
But all that really matters is that there is a spiritual shift happening, amongst young and old, and we can help heal this world together 😊

I was a volunteer at a co-op- it was a permaculture farm. (I was informed by a friend that they were using traditional techniques there that she had used on her family farm growing up in Vermont). I asked a question about the dirt and I was gently corrected that it is soil, not dirt. This distinction was noteworthy because the two words and their meanings have been used interchangeably giving the wrong impression. Thanks for your contribution to our education.

I recently had my yearly physical and my Dr. wanted an ultrasound on my kidney and bladder. I have had PERFECT physicals for years! So I gave myself 1 month of healing time BEFORE the test. Dandelions paved the way to a perfect test! (Fresh greens, tinctures, and tea). Thank you Terri and Lol for the Basic Herbal Course!!

There does seem to be an obsession with washing absolutely everything. I wash very little that I harvest for my own use. I too choose plants that are already clean and in good condition. One thing that I don't think was mentioned, though it may have been and I missed it, is that washing flowers in particular will wash away the pollen and all of its medicinal properties. I think people just assume that everything outside is dirty, and it's not.

Oh Terri, she's my top favourite ! Because I live in the city, I could never find' clean ' dandelions. After planting seeds for 3 yrs I finally have them growing in my yard. The infused flower oil works wonders on the occasional back ache. The leaves are cooked like any other greens. I haven't tried the whole plant recipe but that's next !
You are amazing in what you do for us . Green blessings and love to you, Lol, and the fur babies 💜🐾🐾🍃🌱

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I've been eating large dandelion salads daily since watching your other video about them a few weeks back. I made vinegar tincture with the root that is used in my vinaigrette. I love this video Danu. Isn't it odd and sad that most people think Nature/Natural Remedies are inherently dirty or bad or untrustworthy? I offered a woman a magnificent fresh tomato from my greenhouse, and she insisted that I wash it, scrub it, and that was the last time she was allowed to set foot on my property. She did the same with chicken eggs which over here, were in very short supply and hugely expensive. Apparently, she'd never realized that eggs come from the rear-end of a chicken! I have a big crop of huge dandelions this Spring, and I will make your tincture and thank you for teaching us! I love the cat on the roof & dogs.

If I would have started/completed the British Naturopathic course, or that of John Christoper of Utah Naturopathic course, I would have had my thesis on the dandelion. The properties of dandelions are immense. They are signals of soil condition, the 2+ species of wooly or smooth leafed dandelions are more than just blood cleansers, detoxers, immunity factors, nervine, enzymatic processes, and other such organ, glands, and endocrines functions are worked by dandelion compounds.

Good Morning (here) Terri! Thank you again for sharing your garden, kitchen, and wisdom with us. Lovely to see blue Galway skies. Ive read and heard a number of times, that there are probiotics and other nutrients on plants, so to keep washing at a minimum. If you don't have your own garden, I think it's fair to ask someone who does to share. I'd be happy to, so assume others would too. We all know there are thankfully more than enough dandelions to go around! Happy Sunday!

On tincture; you can also let aome of the alcohol evaporate off, i make tincture of cannabis for myself and i use everclear, but after a couple of days on the fridge, the ethanol will have evaporated perhaps down to 45% alcohol (vs 95%) and can ve evaporated even further, then diluted in water.

I don’t wash my garden herbs unless they have visible dirt or bugs. There’s no reason to.

I love starting my Sundays off with your new films. Such a lovely way to kickstart my time in the garden. I think I’ll go out and pick some dandelion for a tincture and oil since there’s an abundance of it throughout my lawn.

So much I want to say!! Blessings to you both!! (I chuckled when Lol cut to the dogs playing. Pets, always stealing the show! Ha!) Joanne, USA

Thank you for the reminder - I made dandelion oil for myself and the jar slipped back behind other herb jars on a high shelf. I need to get that down to use in my jars of body butter.

Hi Terri 🦋 You give so much valuable information about everything from the earth. Dandelion tea, me like. I eat Rowan - berries. Super healthy, right? Gonna try doing Dandelion in olive oil . I hope that the blueberries here in N.Sweden forest, are plenty this year. We need more of you, you're such treasure. Thanks for giving this to us .🌱🐝🌻🦋

Here in Eastern Canada. Really enjoy your teaching videos. Had my first dandelion tea this week. I really enjoyed it. Plan to pick some more and freeze the flowers petals for later teas. Hope this won't destroy the medicinal properties. I have turned my double city lot here in New Brunswick into a forest garden over time. I have planted over 200-300 trees, shrubs, flowers, raised bed and this year a small greenhouse. I am so grateful for this plot of land to play in. Also, because the main "lawn" of my back yard is very acidic, moss has gradually encroached throughout and I love it. There are different mosses so you get a camouflage look to it. I also dug a 8x 12 ft pond with a rubber liner,, pond plants, rocks and goldfish. The fish have over wintered time and time again in our harsh -35 F temperatures. I dug the pond down 3-4 ft with a shelf all around. The fish seem to go dormant over the winter. Its amazing. Again, love your channel and teaching. Thank you.
