The vibe was very casual chat with friends and less structured let's make a show and I loved that. I really hope there are more like this to follow
When theyre talking about Morvenn Vahl, Bricky mentions something about our brains rejecting certain images and not others. Its not an emotion, its memory recollection. Humans develop "schemas"; concepts or mental models of ideas, like how we learn to differentiate animals, vehicles etc from childhood. Taking what we already have learnt of what a exo-skeleton looks like, its easy to dismiss when it doesnt "seem to work" because weve seen or theorised what it looks like when it does work. So, in the process of discussing what's wrong about it, is exactly what the mental phenomenon is. So, good job.
So, what I think you're looking for in regards to the Paragon Warsuit is Internal Consistency. As well as Direct consistency. The internal consistency in which something is too different from other things of it's like For example the Nundam compared to the Dread. The direct consistency issue is the difference between the upper and lower part. So, the reason your brain doesn't "Get It" is because your brain is trying to make connections to things it already knows and things that aren't like it, as well as seeing something contradicting itself.
*Battleska intensifies* Edit: Also, I feel like Kirioth's kitbash mess vs GW Death Guard mess conundrum is probably that he's just a Vashtor worshiper in a gearhead disguise.

Lol i cant understand Shy saying that anybodys vehicles look unrealistic or excessive. Shy, a famously ork-pilled individual, whose tanks dont have engines
I love the Mortifiers because the mental image of one of these horrible, clanky devices crudely swinging it's flail arm and turning a group of unfortunate heretics into a fine red mist is very satisfying and also quite terrifying.
The best art I've seen about the nundam is that they get the Star Fox treatment and they have their knees cut off at the knees. Kinda like a dreadnought, wounded warriors put into a machine.
I like to imagine that since there's no possible way for the torture victim on a penitent engine to consciously control the thing, it's another one of the imperium's "totally not autonomous we swear guys" type combat drones that happen to have a guy strapped to the front.
@@burnin8able You're thinking hands-on-levers. That's not how those operate. You realize Dreadnoughts are controlled by plugged-in barely-alive raging veteran marine mutilated and pickled torsos, right? You still gotta a working brain? You can drive a Imperial Dread/Penitent engine/Knight/Titan. Those are plugged right onto your brainstem. It is penitence because it IS nightmarishly painful and claustrophobic. E.g. Personally I think the Paragon Warsuits are incredibly cool. I view them as a force multiplier more than a defensive suit of armor. They aren't in there for safety, just so they can carry a huge sword and multi melta. I rationalize their legs fitting inside as them being in a kneeling position, like they are kneeling for prayer
There is a Sons of Guns episode where they help make a FLAME THROWER CANNON, that is the closest you will get to seeing what new of these vehicle mounted flamers would look like!!!!!!
Injected 'feelings' might not be so strange. If they've isolated the neurochemicals that drive emotions of shame and guilt, then flooding penitent engine 'pilots' with them could do just that.
For the lore, Junith Eruita was following her superior with a whole bunch of sisters in the Basillica of St Hollina, when the church collapsed on them because of some artillery fire. The Chanoness Superior was killed, so of course Junith walked on top of the chair where the priest would give sermons, and motivated her sisters with her sermons, miraculously doding all of the shots directed towards her. After the battle, she was named Chanoness Superior, and asked that the chair was put on an antigrav platform, so she could continue to give her sermons XD
"If you're in the same ZIP code as an heretic you should be burn, according to the sisters" In the animated series Pariah Nexus, the sister character is shocked that the Salamander does not execute the civilians they saved, for the crime of getting their world invaded and not believing enough in the victory of the Imperium. Because obviously, if the Sisters and the Guard failed to repel the Necrons (led by Illuminor Szeras), it's because the world lacked faith, not because the Necrons were stronger XD
To be fair, sometimes and Anchorite is more like a Sisters Dreadnought, stripped of the pain-and-guilt stuff and fitted with life support systems instead to keep and experienced but injured battle sister alive and fighting. You'd think they'd give her a Warsuit instead but I guess not. I'm planning to build one that at least had hands.
I think a large part of what makes or breaks a mini is how far you can push your suspension of disbelief When a sister drives a church into battle, it makes sense. That's just how they are, but when you stick one in a nundam, people are going to ask how does she bend her legs? Is her faith in the emperor what's keeping her pelvis from breaking in half?
Screwing with emotions is surprisingly easy. As in: "we can inject feelings of guilt" is the kind of thing I'd expect to be kinda-sorta possible within *40* years, much less 40k.
Pumping someone with liquid depression to make them even more eager to commit suicide by xenos is the kind of nasty I associate with the Imperium in 40K
Morven's suit; who exactly made it, what is the process by which she dons it, how did she earn her Custodes spear, and what is the shield-gun exactly? I was so excited when I saw this on my feed, but you guys just kind of talked AROUND it, not about it, you know? Anywho, I really do love the channel, and am looking forward to what comes next!
To throw my two cents in on the Immolator discussion. I think both the current and forge world models have their place. Forge world seems more like a rank and file vehicle, and the current model is like a command variant, if you get what I mean. The current model is like "Ah yes, the commander of this force is riding in this vehicle" While Forge world is more "We are rank and file in our vic."
I want the Repressor to come back in plastic with a similar makeover to what the Immolator got. Imagine a rhino chassis with a steeple covered in firing decks.
48:40 I think "All out in the open" could work if it was actually all out like in Aliens. Remove the chest cover the Gray Knights have and make it so at most there is something holding their boots into the foot holds.
1:07:24 1: You where too scared of what’s in front of you to consider what will happen if they run. 2: they think they can get away with it and they don’t have a good sense of risk vs rewart. 3: They fought dark eldar
Kyrioth might be out of the walls, I think maybe I took his place. I feel my walls are closing in cause of my hearing loss. Anyways I always enjoy the comradery you guys have on your podcast, was always fun to listen to and I really appreciated the talk about vehicles. If you don't like the lore of 40k then you HAVE to love the machines and equipment being used. Also I love the Sisters, I still remember my first time learning about this in Soulstorm DoW. I require a SoB to come and cleanse me of my hearing loss and therefore crippling depression. I must be a walking holy grail at this point for the chaos gods if they were really a thing! I also definitely like the more realistic and darker version of these vehicles, the grander they start the become I think the more plot armor they require.
My wife doesn't collect Warhammer minis, but she loves the Sisters and in particular, the Penitent Engines. She says that if she collected any models, it would be those because she thinks they're just so cool... Which is alarming, ngl.

Every time I think about the Immolator, I have the Dawn of War voice yelling "Behold the Immolator!" in my head.

"Painting the stained glass is a huge pane"
The exorcist looks like it’s got salt and pepper. Shakers mounted to the top.
Hell yeah this dropped the same day my army of faith bix arrived and I'm definitely listening while i start building my Exorcist
48:40 I think "All out in the open" could work if it was actually all out like in Aliens. Remove the chest cover the Gray Knights have and make it so at most there is something holding their boots into the foot holds.
One of your best guys, keep it up
1:07:24 1: You where too scared of what’s in front of you to consider what will happen if they run.
2: they think they can get away with it and they don’t have a good sense of risk vs rewart.
3: They fought dark eldar
The so-called "Nundams" are more akin to the Landmates from Appleseed than actual mecha like a monile suit.
They did a pun. the glass was a pane. Like a pane of glass 😂
Thanks for the video.
I also definitely like the more realistic and darker version of these vehicles, the grander they start the become I think the more plot armor they require.
lol Kiraoth is uncomfortable with the idea of sisters straddling giant mech motors like horses as they go into battle
1:07:44 lmao right as kirioth said "one second" it buffered. I guess you'll get your second.
My wife doesn't collect Warhammer minis, but she loves the Sisters and in particular, the Penitent Engines. She says that if she collected any models, it would be those because she thinks they're just so cool... Which is alarming, ngl.
To fix the Nundam, give the Nun knees where they should be and, from feet down, have a reverse articulated leg
