Awesome Job Adam! 425 is one of my favorite steam locomotives and I was there for a lot of those shots! And gotta love that classic Penn Rail Videos pace shot!
The sound of the whistle being drowned out by the stack talk around 15:30 is fascinating. I fondly remember that on the "Q" trips out of Chicago in the early 60s.
425 last year was a great year. 425 had that Norflok and Western Whistle with the double header with CNJ113 and on the next run. What was the whistle in the 5:00 part? Also, the other whistle return to/from Jim Thorpe was Awesome. Plus at the end of the video 425 pull three Hoppercar, the Passenger car, and the caboose end was great view during the mid afternooon run. Wounderful job with the video u did. Thumbs up and subscribed you.
+john mckenna, the whistles that the 425 'bore' on Schuylkill Haven's Borough day were as follows, 1st whistle: N&W Hooter, 2nd whistle: NYC 5 chime, 3rd whistle: Pennsy Banshee.
Penn Rail Videos Oh, Cool, can't wait to see it! I am a voulenteer with that engine and actually rode the tender on the 3 PM excursion on the 30th. Can't wait to see it!
Thank you good people for posting this and allowing us to watch it. Have you ever done anything on The Stewartstown Railroad in Stewartstown, PA.? They are not as active as this but are getting back into operation. This video is excellent. My Dad worked on the PRR years ago. The State of Pennsylvania is very smart in being railroad friendly, because these tourist lines bring in millions of dollars a year in benefits to Pennsylvania.
Awesome video. I love the Reading & Northern, I love all the whistles they have #425 wearing, What kind of whistle is she wearing at 12:30? I'd love to hear her wearing a Baltimore & Ohio 6 chime sometime. I hope they get Reading #2102 operating again sometime in the future
The steam crew, the owner and some other people at the railroad all own their own whistles. Some of the whistles used on her in the past have been from other sources too.
7-30-2014: Very nice video and audio technique. What type of Steadicam and vest were being used, especially during the Port Clinton (6:11) sequence? Even with a vest, it would've had to be difficult to keep the camera aligned overall so well! Good job! I do have to partially agree with 7845lptape about the lengthy time of the intro and subsequent scene information. Five seconds is long enough for most people to read the few words.
Hello my friend.. All the best to your channel and hope you have a wonderful day
425 should be a star in a movie
Awesome Job Adam! 425 is one of my favorite steam locomotives and I was there for a lot of those shots! And gotta love that classic Penn Rail Videos pace shot!
Thanks Mike. We had some great BRO times!

Great video as always Adam. Great job!
Thank you!
Great video, Adam! I wish I could have been there...
Awesome video bro! What a beautiful locomotive, definitely gotta catch her in action sometime!
You most definitely should! It's awesome!

Great work, Adam.

TheRBMN Productions I did not waste any video on that horrible Pennsy banshee whistle. Yuck!
Penn Rail Videos Ya, wish you would have gotten some footage of 113 for Borough Day or from November 30th!
I have footage of CNJ 113. That video will come at a later date.

Outstanding work!
I can agree that Oct 13th is like a De Ju Ve

Cameron Johnston That whistle was a Southern Pacific 6 chime. Something similar to what Grand Canyon Railway 4960 wears
This comment really aged well! 2102 is happily running!
Great video! I like it! Good job
Thumbs Up
Andrew
I love the clip at about 16:00. She's really hauling. Good stuff. Does she has a schedule online?
11:35 that whistle gives me chills what’s the name of the whistle
SP 6 chime
02:03 Pennsylvania railroad steam whistle??
It's so amazing.. I like train very much
Man, one day I hope to see that blue crystal!
What is the speed limit at 16:08 ?
That was pretty fast on a railroad such as R&N
speed ranges from 10-40mph on the R&N as far as i know

Anyways nice video. Got to travel up to Pennsylvania and ride behind 425 myself
what was that conductor saying to you @32:40 ?
Good work! Like!
Why did 425 have a hooter
What diffrent whisltes was it wearing?
It's almost as if 425 doesn't know which whistle to have. Do they have a cabinet full of whistles on stand by, or something?
The steam crew, the owner and some other people at the railroad all own their own whistles. Some of the whistles used on her in the past have been from other sources too.
WSOR10C Oh, Okay. But why do they put different whistles on her? Can't they just have one standard whistle?
PeaceyPraps The crew once told me "because its fun!" I think its kind of a cool feature of 425 never knowing what whistle it will have next
+Cape Rails Productions Personally I liked the Boston & Maine 6 chime that she wore during steamtown's grand opening 1995
What was the whistle at 12:35?
+Gavin Akapo thanks
how do u get to the scenic areas???????
Also that hooter sounds like a hooter whistle from a N&W engine
Great video! Is there two whistles fitted on 425 or did they just change the whistles out?
They change them all the time
Amazing. Love 425. It's a shame that they changed the paint scheme.
Thomas Weekley Actually they changed it for a reason, it was getting insanely stooty and it looked like shit.
@@deaderthandead1182 Chris Bost himself said "It was like trying to clean with sandpaper"
Yeah.. I like how it has RDG tenders now, too.
@@deaderthandead1182 U mean the GM&O inspired logo?
In its own sense, yes, but it has an RDG aux and main tender now.
Parry gripp:last train to awesome town: The roof is on fire right now! We are now gonna burn it to the ground aya: passengers:

425 with a N&W Hooter.
EPIC "BRO"!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Chido
I’m afraid of this engine it’s way to loud sounds like it’s gonna blow!!!!!
