Jose Siri is actually a really nice dude. When he was playing for sugar land right before he got called up to the Astros, I saw him play, cheered for him, made a really original "hey siri, hit a home run" joke. He just laughed and pretended he hadn't heard that ever before. A few days later I saw him play in Houston. He recognized me, smiled and tossed me a foul ball. Now an idiot in the row ahead of me dove in the way and knocked it 5 rows away, but I thought it was really cool he recognized me.
Rays fan here. He's been one of the hottest players both offensively and defensively. He's 100% a fan favorite here since Randy's slow start and since Wander did you know what. He's been insanely fun to watch.
I swear he is the weirdest hitter I’ve ever seen, last year he hit .221 with only a .267 OBP, yet had a SLG of .494? That’s better than a lot of power hitters but he’s not a good hitter, and he hit 25 HR but only 56 RBI, and only 13 DOUBLES? He’s so weird but I love him
He might be the most hatable player from actual players, but he certainly got that dawg in him. I enjoy his crazy ass celebration as much as he does. 😂😂😂
I am dominican and I’ve been watching siri since 2017-18 when my team drafter him in the dominican winter league. Something I can say about him is that his speed and glove are top notch and whenever he’s on base is a show to watch. Hopefully he keeps celebrating the game the same way he does and hopefully he’ll be an all star one day
Also Siri has one of the highest barrel % in the league. When he hits then he hits them HARD. He's on pace for a pretty damn good season since a slow start.
Over the past 3 seasons, he’s racked up a FRV (fielding run value) of 30, including FIFTEEN in only 104 games in 2022. He’s an electric player, no doubt about it. Speed, power, defense.
i remember being at minute maid park when siri hit a home run off of the Mets. It went past the train tracks. Absolutely piss missile. Dusty didn’t like it and he got traded afterwards . I miss that dude. Had hella swag, fast as hell and threw hard too. All the best of luck for him
Wonderful dude! The year after he got traded to the Rays my wife and I were sitting in second deck center field at MM. He was nice enough to throw us a ball up there. He was also throwing balls to everyone during BP. Most away teams don't ever throw anything for the opposing fans... at least in my experience so it was nice to see!
I'm a rays fan. Jose is cool, but I'm worried about his relationship with Randy. Randy isn't smiling around Siri, you can tell shit is up between them. The past two weeks, things might be getting better, but I remember when Siri robbed that homerun in the A's game, Randy is dejected. Randy is upset. Even in-between interactions with them, you can tell something isn't right.
Because Randy stays in his own feelings. It wasn't long ago that Randy fought Yandy Diaz and from what I remember Randy's had more than one instance of stuff like that.
Let me tell you how most fans here feel about him. Aside from the old heads that bring up the, like you said "back in my day" arguments, we absolutely love him. The Rays are featuring more and more of him through their marketing and are getting on board with his style of play. Don't forget, he was basically our guy replacing Kiermaier, so going into our acquisition of him we really weren't expecting him to even be as close defensively to KK. Turns out he might be slightly worse defensively, but slightly better offensively, so it kind of evens itself out. One other thing. Being a Rays season ticket holder (I know I'm like 1 of 10 in existence 😂) you don't know how often the phrase "Hey Siri! Hit a homerun!" Is said. I'm sure he's heard it enough lol ¡VAMOS SIRI!
I dont think anyone will be anywere near most hated player, until Manny Machado retires. Dude straight up caused injuries, arguably a guys career to end, and not a single soul liked him. Sure he has turned it around, and isnt quite his old self, but still, nobody can be hated THAT much at one time and not hold most hated award for his time left in the league
I remember seeing him in the astros when they came to my marlins home and absolutely walked thru them and was massively impressed by the whole team, but Siri stood out to me as, although not necessarily an all star, but wildly fun to watch
As a HUGE Astros fan I was upset when he got traded, but I think it was for the best because we already had McCormick and Meyers, and in Houston, he kept getting sent down to the space cowboys, and called back up, in Tampa Bay he is an everyday starter, so I am happy for him, and Astros still won it all
As a HUGE Astros fan I was upset when he got traded, but I think it was for the best because we already had McCormick and Meyers, and in Houston, he kept getting sent down to the space cowboys, and called back up, in Tampa Bay he is an everyday starter, so I am happy for him
As a Rays fan, I love him. Brings some much needed energy to the team through real solid/clutch defense and he’s been on a hot streak at the plate for the past 20 games or so
I was watching a Royals broadcast last season against Rays. After Siri struck out Lefebvre said ‘Hey Siri” and Hudler did his usual “you gotta go!” I thought it was funny.
I am a Rays fan and I don’t like the guy. Not only does he over-pimp home runs, he even pimps routine catches in center. He has dropped routine catches that in big situations trying to pimp them or make them look “cool” and effortless. I wouldn’t mind if they trade him to get some future talent.
Didn’t really have an opinion of Siri before this year. But, in both series against the Orioles this season, this guy would be shocked and whine on every strike call. Genuinely every AB.
Siri is the prime example of today's baseball players, admiring his HRs, nos hustling, striking out a lot, not running on ground balls. Classic self-centered egomaniac.
Like it or not, players staring each other down and getting into fights is healthy for the sport. It spawns videos like this, which engages fans and even generates some interest. Fans lose interest when every player is quiet and nice.
When the Franco drama dropped, and it was said Siri was his best bud I looked at him different. Since then, his overall look and attitude has made me hate him
Astros got elite fielders they’ll be able to replace him , definitely way better hitter in big spots than I thought he was going to be. I say let people celebrate.
Some people say bat flips are good for the sport, making it more fun and entertaining. If this is what we’re doing to make baseball entertaining then we a bigger problem at hand. Baseball was at its peak in the early 2000’s back, and bat flipping wasn’t much of a thing then.
I will say I am not a fan of the bat flip but these pitchers are ridiculous. They get made when a player does it but yet they have guys on their own team that do it. If it bothers them so much get your own players to stop doing it or just deal with it from opposing players. Besides you wouldn't see a bat flip if you didn't give up a HR
Maybe from an old head pitcher stand point but as a fan of the game there’s no reason you should hate Jose Siri. Bringing personality to the game is what baseball needs I wonder what ever happened to “let the kids play”
rays fan, can’t stand Siri. yeah he can be fun and the entire team has been pretty bad so it doesn’t feel like his stats are so bad. but he showboats HRs when the rays are losing big and doesn’t hustle when the game is on the line. he’s a fun player but totally self absorbed and thinks he is wayyy better than he is.
There’s another current Rays player that deserves so much more hate than Siri and his name is Fander Wranco, siri just likes to have fun it’s funny seeing old heads get mad over it.

Thanks for sharing! That's good stuff. Always like player-fan interactions. It's what it's all about
I can confirm. Siri signed a ball for me
Siri is a great guy. He plays with passion and swagger even if it’s not justified 😂
@@iTalkStudios
Hey siri, it’s not your night
*hits home run right after
I swear she thought of that before the game and waited to use it. It didn’t seem appropriate at all 😂
Sends one to the upper deck very next sequence after she mentions him in the batters box 😂
You beat me to it 😂
women are terrible sports announcers for sports women dont play

That's why Josh Naylor is one of my favorite players. Doesn't pimp home runs unless you give him the smoke.
I loved Jose Siri on the Astros. He seemed like a good clubhouse guy and had plenty of potential while being a wizard in Center field.

¡VAMOS SIRI!
To be fair, as a Diamondback, everybody hit a home run off of Bumgarner.
I live in St.Petersburg and he is so fun to watch! He has been clutch for a few weeks now!
Dude posted this legit as Siri immediately helped his teammate after getting hit by 100mph to the face
What happened to your most recent video huh?

Siri got traded from the Astros due to dusty being an old man. I want him to come back
Same but we have an abundance of aelite fielders. Better hitter now.

Jake Meyers has been great i will say
On the flipside then, pitchers shouldn't get all hype when they pitch out of a tricky situation. Or in/outfielders either when they make a great play.
“Pitchers he thinks are racist” sounds like code for white pitchers
He made one of the greatest throws ive ever seen in my life the other day. Good dude

Madison Bumgardner bit killed me 😂
Every time I see that thumbnail of the fight it seems like he was trying to hit the Woah 😂😂
Not many players batflip after literally EVERY homer no matter the state of the game but he's one of them lol.
Siri is not Hateable player...
he’s a very nice guy who just seems like he would be obnoxious
Another W from Italk

Bat flipping on MLK is wild 😂😂😂
MLK was also a degenerate. So Siri and him at least have that in common
As an O’s fan, I hate Arozarena more than Siri. That stupid pose he does at third base after home runs is by far more obnoxious than Siri’s bat flip
Cry about it he owns you
@@willyski0223 second worst team in the division and Arozarena is hitting .189 this year, he doesn’t own shit my boy 😂

Accurate
What are your thoughts on Jose Siri?
He’s good this season
Seems arrogant, but I'm not mad at it. Just don't get upset when you get drilled with a 95 mph fastball.
If I only hit 7 homers a year I'd admire every one of them.
As a Rays fan, I love him. Brings some much needed energy to the team through real solid/clutch defense and he’s been on a hot streak at the plate for the past 20 games or so
Distasteful, just like Tatis, Acuna and a couple others. I’m young but I’m very traditional in how I view baseball.
Having style and swag is underrated in baseball
W Skeet reference
First memory I have of this guy was him getting clowned on by Yadier Molina in spring training.
Jose Ramirez would be the most lovable.

So he is basically Carlos Gomez lol
I said the same thing 😂
Shoutout Skeeter Jean 🤣🤣
Siri tell me about Jose Siri: he is an overrated showboat who is reminiscent of Carlos Gomez, except that Gomez was way more talented.
Jose Siri broke up my perfect game in MLB The Show once. I basically hated him ever since
Skeeter Jean 🤣🤣🤣
Lmao this dude is one of my favorite players now 😂lmao taking them 👧🏼👶🏼👨🏼👦🏼👴🏼deep and dropping the bat😂
I’ve hated him since he wagged his finger at Yadi in *spring training* when he was still a minor leaguer
Siri is a troublemaker like Tommy Pham.

Siri is the prime example of today's baseball players, admiring his HRs, nos hustling, striking out a lot, not running on ground balls. Classic self-centered egomaniac.
I thought Siri struck out when he hit that home run off Peralta
I kinda miss Siri as an Astro despite how stacked our outfield is, it was just a cool name to see
Hes the new carlos gomez at least when it comes to the attitude at the plate
Buddy in the Orioles jersey caught the ball with one bare hand
5:17 I clearly remember that
I actually have a few nice auto cards of him because I thought he was going to be so much better. 😅
